“Lovely Friendly Hotel”
Reviewed July 12, 2013

Had a week here in June for my 50th Birthday. Lovely hotel, exceptionally clean and great staff.
We met some really lovley people and everyone got on. Food was good, my husband really liked the amount of meat he had to eat! Breakfast was typically Greek which i really enjoyed. Rooms were good size and although the wardrobe was 'half size' in length i just hung my dresses on the door!
The sunbeds are new this year I think as they are not the white plastic ones, but material type. There was a shortage of parasols when we arrived but these were replenished whilst we were there. The pool is really nice and as there were no small children there I sat in the little pool and read my book which was refreshing in 34 degree heat.
We visited the beach a few times and loved swimming in the sea, would recommend beach shoes as there are some pebbles and rocks.
All in all exceptional value for money and would consider returning.

Room Tip: We e mailed the hotel and asked for a room with sun in the evening and thats's waht we got!

I just got back from this hotel a few days ago and i had a lovely time. Went with my boyfriend and it was pretty much as we expected. Basic facilities not much in the way of entertainment but the bars and taverna's up the hill made up for that completely.
I would recommend Nikos in the resort centre. We had a beautiful traditional greek meal out in the beautiful open air and it only cost about 35 euros but we were so full after!
Back to the hotel, i would say i wouldnt go with kids because there really wasn't much to do and if you've got trouble walking stay away. There are a lot of steps and the hill up from the beach and to the town is a killer in the heat, lovely in the evenings though.
Staff are friendly and try to be as helpful as possible.
I've read a few reviews saying the hotel was dirty but honestly i thought it was completely spotless and was very happy with it. Our shower broke on the second day but as soon as we mentioned it to the staff it was fixed the next day.
All in all a lovely relaxing no frills holiday.

Room Tip: Try and get a high floor as the low floor rooms look out onto a wall. It might also be worth getting...

Just got back from Kassandra Bay and what a holiday it was! Staff were the friendliest people I have ever met, nothing was too much trouble; from getting drinks to carrying your suitcases up 3 flights of stairs! The beach is down a hill yes, but its no where near as much as a problem as I thought it would be having read these reviews...you would have thought it would kill you, but it only took 15 minutes walking back up, but there is a train if you cant face the exercise. There are wasps like others have stated but there are wasps everywhere, ignore them they go away! Rooms were simple but clean, fresh sheets and towels every few days. Entertainment in the evening was great fun and the food was fantastic; completely put my fears of half board holidays to rest. Would definitely go back.

Room Tip: Third floor had amazing views of the sea and pool area.

Just returned from Kassandra Bay Hotel two days ago. We had a very relaxing time and would not hesitate to return, a view shared by many we spoke to. I don't always write reviews but I feel compelled to do so as this hotel is a little gem.

Not sure what the recent 'Worst Holiday Ever' post relates to as we were there at the same time and had a totally different experience. We encountered no ant infestations in our room, although I do realise that no one can predict where and when they will invade. There were absolutely no wasps inside, outside or down on the beach to disturb any ones enjoyment. In fact most of us sat outside to eat breakfast and dinner enjoying the warm sunny evenings. We only spent one day around the pool (the pool is cleaned every night at 7pm with various chemicals etc) but didn't see any wasps there either. However, if you do suffer from Mosquito bites then do take plenty of sprays, lotions and potions as quite a few people were being bitten big time.

The food was very Greek, not to everyone's taste judging by some of the moans we overheard, but you have to remember you are in Greece not the UK! The poolside Greek night BBQ on a Sunday was very pleasant and the food was good but personally I preferred the food midweek. Dinner consisted of Soup brought to your table, followed by a Salad bar, main meal and a small dessert. Dishes such as: Fish, Pork, Moussaka, Stifado (beef & onions) Pastichio, and Chicken in a butter cream sauce were on offer. Usually two main course options and a pasta dish were available.

Breakfast consisted of a cereal choice of Coco pops, Corn flakes or Muesli for cereal. There was Yoghurt, cold meat, cheese, bread rolls, crusty bread and bread for toasting along with hard boiled eggs, with Tea, Coffee or Orange juice. There were the odd mornings when fried, scrambled and omelettes were available. Breakfast was for some very monotonous, I think they were expecting full cooked breakfasts. Some guests brought their own cereals and fruit into the restaurant but we found breakfast OK for us as we only have cereal at home anyway.

Our room was quite spacious as we had room for a cot which wasn't needed. The bathroom was a joy for Greece, having been updated with a concertinaed shower door which really did do the trick of not having water all over the floor. There was always plenty of hot water, too hot at times. Hand soap is provided for the sink and loo rolls were replaced when only half used. Rooms are cleaned everyday and our sheets and towels were changed three to four times in the week, more than we expected. Our balcony was a good size with a clothes airer and pegs provided. The beds were two 3 ft singles put together and were very comfortable.

Air con is available at 5 Euros a day. Safe located inside the wardrobe is 10 Euros for one week, 18 for two. At least 12 plastic coat hangers were provided and there was plenty of hanging and drawer space for two weeks worth of clothes.

Drinks at the bar were very reasonable. A large local beer was 2.50 as was a glass of wine. A carafe was 5.50, cocktails 6.00, local spirits 3.80. Small bottled water 50c and a large bottle was 1.50.
Lunch time snacks are available, toasted sandwich was 2.50 and a nice Greek salad was 3.80.

The village is not far up the so called dreaded hill, with a selection of restaurants, bars, souvenir shops and a good supermarket. Don't miss out on the ice cream parlour (Parfait) located right at the end of the village heading towards Kalithea. A cone and one scoop was 1.50 with at least a dozen flavours to choose from along with all the Greek Pastries and chocolates you would ever want to eat.
The hill has been blown out of all proportion, it's just a serious of moderate inclines and slopes with flat bits in between. There were plenty of people walking it of all ages and sizes.
Don't expect to be surrounded by just Brits abroad. Other guest staying at the hotel included Serbs, Romanians and Greeks and although there were language barriers to cross we all managed to communicate with each other and have a great time.

The staff were all very polite and helpful especially Alan, Alex and Lily, and nothing was too much trouble for them if something was needed. Everyone works very hard to keep the hotel clean and functioning and try their hardest to give you a 5 star service for a 3 star price, we really don't know how they achieve what they do but we are happy that they do!

Stayed at this hotel late may2013 , we had a great holiday and found the hotel very clean and the owners very friendly. The food was lovely and the staff very helpful and wanting to please!Kriopigi is a very small typical Greek village with a few shops, and restaurants. We hired a car for 3 days and thoroughly enjoyed this went to lots of beaches off the beaten track which were all nice. Would not hesitate to return to this hotel as with many other people who we met all of whom wanted to return. Will be back next year.

This hotel is perfect, small, family run, clean and provides a lovely relaxing holiday. We arrived not expecting much as it was cheap. We were pleasantly surprised. Three girls looking for some down time and sun. We achieved this. The food was basic but you didn't have to stay there as the town was a short walk up a steep hill but the town had restaurants. The hotel is clean and had a nice pool and the owners were really nice. We didn't pay for any lunch food or drinks we put it all on a tab and payed at the end which was good. The other guests were repeat guests I believe and everyone who I spoke to was having a nice time and happy with the hotel. Nothing in the way of nightlife we this didn't matter to us. The hotel did put on bingo which I won!! They have a karaoke night and a BBQ on a Sunday all provided by the family. All in all a great little holiday. The reception area has wifi if you needed it. We will return! Thank you for a well needed break!!

My husband and i are still in Halkidiki on our honeymoon and after enduring a week of hell between the food, wasps, ant infestation in our room and terrible service from our tour operator we have had to move to another hotel in the area. I will write a full review when i return but would caution anyone thinking of staying here not to! I've been holidaying in Greece for 13 years and have stayed in some right dumps...all of which provided better food and friendlier service than this place. They ruined over half of our honeymoon...beware!!!
