The Achtis is a delightful, smoothly run, small hotel. All staff, especially Nadia and Lilia, go out of their way to ensure their guests have a great holiday. The hotel is tastefully furnished, clean and comfortable. We loved the grounds and the wandering peacocks and the family of greedy ducks. Another plus has to be the varied and delicious breakfasts. Inside the hotel grounds there is a feeling of calm. For holidaymakers who like impersonal, noisy, big and brash hotels, the Achtis is not for you.
The Achtis is well placed for the short but a little uneven walk down to the pretty, bustling little town of Afitos with its vast array of small shops, bars and very good restaurants.
Situated on a cliff top, Afitos commands extensive sea views. Inevitably, this means that accessing the beach can only be achieved by a steep walk or a car/taxi ride. Hence, for anyone with mobility issues or who expects an easy, short stroll to the beach, staying in the town of Afitos is not ideal.
The Achtis has a clean, well maintained pool and comfortable loungers. Here, many guests happily relax, swim and snack. As well as relaxation, we also enjoy sightseeing. It was fun to hire a car, explore the area, visit the city of Thessaloniki and discover beautiful sandy beaches.
Finally, as testament to the enjoyment of our recent 2 week holiday, we have already booked a return visit for the same time next year.

We have recently returned home after our second stay at this wonderful hotel.

The Achtis is a little oasis of calm and tranquility, sprinkled with luxury and the cherry on the top has to be the amazing staff.

Already booked for next year which I think says it all .

Stayed here for 7 nights first week of September.
From the very first minute you are treated like family and all the staff are a credit to the owners and themselves.
The hotel is lovely, rooms are very nice and beds are comfy.
We usually spend time sightseeing, hiring cars etc but we spent most of our time in the hotel. It's relaxing, the food is lovely and the girls are fabulous, Nadia, Lillian, Kristina, Julie & Anastasia, myself and Lisa thank you all for making our holiday special.
Anyone thinking of visiting should, you won't regret it.
And Kristina makes the best iced coffees in the world.
And remember Kristina, I'm watching you !!

I am reluctant to write a review as I need to keep this hotel a secret, but I have to express how good it is. This our second time here and it just gets better and better. The breakfast is outstanding and the staff are special, all of them, especially Christina who makes the best cocktails ever. Although we have already booked 2 holidays for next year we are going to squeeze in a week here as we thought we could take a year off, but realise we can’t.

This is primarily a review of the Achtis hotel with a few comments on the access to the village.
About the hotel - Great location on the edge of town. All rooms decorated to a high standard, cleaned daily, sheets changed daily, ALL staff friendly, approachable and would do anything to help.
The only drawback was that the hotel did not implement one of the only rules they have associated with 'reserving sunbeds' around the pool. It is not the Germans who throw towels on sunbeds as soon as the sun comes up, but it is us British.
Same people same place day after day.
Regarding access to the village - There is a potholed road/path down to the village but this is badly lit and steep in places and generally uneven. It can be seen that Greece is struggling with quite a few derelict buildings which when unlit can feel intimidating.
All in all enjoyed my first visit to Greece and it will not be my last.
