“One of two great marina restaurants”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 12, 2013

Two very good restaurants on the Marina, and this is one of them. Excellant food, especially the fish and some unusual but delicious starters. Service cannot be faulted. Only downside is the outlook onto the hideous boat rack accross the road, so best to keep your eyes on the superb food.

“Only place worth going inAlcossebre”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 16, 2013 via mobile

Can't understand why this place is rated 7. In my opinion as someone who lives here this is by far the place the best place to eat in Alcossebte. The ambience is great, Vincente fantastic as host and the food cooked by his wife always consistently good. Value for money brilliant whether you have the 11.50 or 20.00 euro menu and they also have a great wine list even the house wine has been thought about and is great for the 7 euros they charge. As a former owner of Emilio's this would be the place I would recommend to the people who miss us.

“Best quality, value and service in Alcossebre.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 22, 2012

My whole family are regulars at this restaurant and it is always our first choice. We live here all year round and have yet to find anywhere that can match Baviera. The menu of the day is only 12€ . The 3 course menu is excellent value for money at 22€ including VAT when you consider that they are offering high quality starters and mains such as sirloin steak, lamb shoulder or my favourite, the Pork Knuckle (okay, doesn't sound appetising but is wonderful - especially if you love the taste of gammon or boiled ham). The problem is that often people want 5 star quality but want to pay nothing for it. If you would rather pay a few euros less to someone offering you a bone to chew and as much gut rotting wine as you can take then Baviera is probably not the place for you. We recommend this place to friends and they are very pleased in the main. The fact that this restaurant generally has the most covers even in low season must mean something good.

Vicente and his son, Oscar, offer some of the best service I have ever encountered and Vicente's wife consistently turns out food to the highest quality. The good news is that they open through the Winter too but only for lunch so get yourself to Baviera and tuck into a Pork Knuckle the next time you are here.

“Always a good choice”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 16, 2012

This is one of the best in Alcossebre. To start with the owner, who is a very ¨amable¨ person. You always get something extra to start the evening, from a small plate of good ham to other nice little snacks to enjoy. We can´t complain about any of our choices here, because they are always as we expected. The ensalada de queso de cabra y frutos secos is my favorite and the magret de canard is the best in the village. The service is always good and you feel most welcome when entering the restaurant. The only minor point is that they over-cooked the vegetables. We go there a few times every season. They are closed during winter, which we regret. Can´t wait to go back once we´re in the village again.

“Disappointing for the Setting and Price”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 3, 2012

We have been to Baviera quite frequently over the past few years and it used to be one of our favourite places to eat. Certainly not one of the cheapest places to eat their set 3 course menu is about 22 euros with the IVA (which they do not include in the prices on their menu). The ambience is good being tastefully decorated. However, we were all disappointed most some aspects of our meal. The shoulder of lamb (presented off the bone) was particularly disappointing, verging on tasteless, as was the goats cheese salad which not only had various fruits in it but also what appeared to be candied orange altogether a strange combination. The platter of "homemade" desserts were almost inedible. The entrecote was good however. Overall not the quality you would expect from a reasonably expensive establishment. We all came away feeling that we would not like that experience again.
