My wife and I happened on this little gem of a museum a few days ago when calling into port on a cruise. It became the highlight of our day and following our visit we passed on some leaflets to other cruise passengers! The museum had only been opened for 10 days. The staff were very informative, friendly and enthusiastic. The experience felt very much as though we were transported back in time to the early 19th Century where, with the help of robotic models, we were given a sense of what life was really like for the family of the local nobility. A lot of work had obviously gone into depicting everyday life in an authentic way. At the time of our visit, the museum was awaiting some signage to be afixed to the outside of the premises so that visitors would be aware of it and hopefully this will soon be in place. It would have been quite easy to have walked past the building, oblivious to its existence (there are stairs to the first floor). There is a nominal fee. We unhesitatingly recommend a visit!
