This is only one of 3 restaurants that we revisited whilst staying in Corfu. They weren't pushy about getting people in and spent time advising about the menu if you needed help. The starters were lovely, recommend the hot cheese and they deboned my husbands fish for him. Even on evenings when we were simply passing the staff remembered us and were pleasantly chatty. Prices were also amongst the most reasonable - €40 ish for starter, mains and wine for 2 and a great place to sit and people watch.

Stopped for a cold beer, on what could only be described as the hottest day I have ever experienced...... the staff were welcoming, gave a very fast service and always carried a smile... which for me goes a long way!

highly recommend a visit, if you are there!

Started using this Taverna after being recommended by friends. Standard taverna food, cooked well, good level of drinks available and service with a smile all at reasonable prices. A pleasant place to sit and watch the world pass by in the Old Town area of Corfu Town

The Thirsty Traveller has been renamed "The Old Barrell", Restaurant/Taverna. A MUST for every visitor to Old Town Corfu! You will most likely be greeted by "George", whose infectious laugh and good humor will soon have you feeling like family. The owner, "Minas" is a wonderful host, along with his friendly staff. Owned by the same family is "Melody" in Gouvia, a hopping night life pub on the main strip.

This place is in a narrow side street, a few yards from Mythos and almost in the shadow of the new fortress. There is both inside and outside seating, it’s great for a cool beer at any time of day. It also serves the best moussaka in town, we know, we tried a few!
As the name suggests, it’s more of a pub but with a Greek identity and without the tackiness that pubs have in some tourist spots. There is a great range of draught beers and a varied menu of Greek staples and dishes closer to home, all offering great value.
The guy who patrols the outside is genuinely friendly and makes sure you are well looked after when seated. Unlike many doing this role, he doesn’t throw a strop if you decide to walk past.
This place became a regular stop during our holiday and will be again when we return to Corfu.
