Description: Paradosiakon, is one of the best taverns of Corfu and operates since the 30s, in the region Spilia in Palaia Poli. It is an authentic tavern with Corfiot delicacies and traditional recipes coming from grandmother drawer, following the traditional ways of preparation and using pure fresh ingredients carefully selected. It is recommended by the most well known, foreign tour guides (MARCO POLO, GUIDE DE ROUTARD, LET'S GO), while its location creates the ideal atmosphere for a meal on the island, as it is located in one of the most romantic and picturesque pedestrian streets in the region of Spilia. Our trademark is the fresh fish and the local meat on the grill. Each dish comes with special care and respect to the customer in spite of the times that the sloppy and poor quality of raw materials is everywhere. Besides, the kitchen is open to visitors, who can watch Mrs. Elpida prepare the Corfiot recipes with taste, such as sofrito, pastitsada, bourdeto, moussaka in clay, stuffed, keftedekia, Corfu sausage and much more! Paradosiakon, is a constant and exceptional choice. The eighty (80) years of its continuous operation prooves it, as well as the prize and the certification of the Region of Ionian Islands and the CC with EXCELLENT QUALITY / BEST QUALITY. We are waiting to take you on a tasting journey through a quality & rich gastronomic experience, coming from the tradition of Corfu!

We had dinner in To Paradosiakon. Our waiter seemed to be drunk, or at least getting there, but that wasn't really a bother as he was quite fun to have around. We ordered fresh fish with vegetables. The food was ok yet pricey (which is common in Corfu with fresh seafood) - the fish hadn't been properly gilled and the vegetables were swimming in oil.
Not accounting for the food we did spend an enjoyable evening at To Paradosiakon.

I have been coming here for about ten years and seen the various tablecloth colours change, but to us it is still 'The Gingham Cafe'.

There is nothing spectacular but they have a wide range of traditional Greek 'pot' dishes all on view inside as well as a comprehensive menu of freshly grilled meats fish and crustacea.

Values are reasonable and the service light hearted and friendly.

Last night on my friends last night in Corfu we walked all the way from the top of Guildford back to the port in search of grilled lamb chops. No-one had any and one central restuarant said ' we don't grill lamb in Corfu' Absolute nonsense.

When we got back to Solomou st. They said OF COURSE we have lamb chops it's on of the most basic Greek dishes.

They were excellent. I had the grilled octopus and that (as usual) was good too.

Don't expect fireworks but do expect good honest food.

We had a lovely family meal in this taverna. The food is delicious especially 'papoutsaki'!!! The staff is really friendly and our kids loved it, too. I would certainly recommend this taverna to people who wish to taste orginal Greek cuisine.
