Stayed at Sofia Village with my friends in July 2013. We booked 3 rooms and they were very different, one was huge with a kitchenette, one was medium size, and the other could only fit a bed. The pool of Sofia Village is outstanding and the man who picks us up at the port is very nice and helpful. However, we found the barman to be very rude every time we asked him a question (which restaurant does he recommend, how can we get there, etc.). He seems to be only friendly with the people who buy drinks at the pool. WiFi is limited to the reception and does not work very well. The location isn't great, unless you're an athlete. The steep uphill walk back to the hotel is no fun and there are only 35 taxis on the island which makes it very hard to get one. Also, when you arrive Sofia Village, you are told that there are no restaurants nearby and if you want to eat, there is only one place that does delivery (my friends tried it, not so good, quite expensive). In fact, there is a very cheap restaurant nearby, in front of the supermarket (next to the bakery). All in all, this hotel is very average.

Found Sofia Village through booking.com and loved everything about it. After picking us up at the docks, they arranged for quad bikes for us to tour the islands for the day. The hotel and it's rooms are kept very clean and comfortable and it's located close to downtown. It's a bit of an uphill walk back to the hotel, but it's great exercise. The pool/bar area is great for relaxing and tanning, with music playing quietly in the background. Like most of the island, Sofia Village is geared to a bit of a younger crowd but as a family, we never felt out of place and had a great time. We'd recommend it to anyone travelling to Mykonos.

We ended up having to stay in Mykonos town for 1 night at the end of our holiday, as the ferry schedule changed, and it would have meant we missed the connecting flight from Mykonos. We found Sofia Village via booking.com and was great that it had a lovely pool and was walking distance from town.
They had a shuttle service that collected us from the port and dropped us at the airport which is real plus. Sofia, George (the barman) and the rest of the team, were friendly, smiley and made us feel perfectly welcome. I almost wished we could have spent longer.

It was up a very steep hill and the walk down to town, although quick, was very unsteady and not well lit in parts. I would suggest a torch if you have a small one that you can take with you. We had a taxi take us back in the early hours, but it's definitely walkable for the fit and able.

The rooms are clean and modern. Ours had a fridge in it and flat screen TV. All in perfect working order.

George is a great character behind the bar and very willing to offer advice and help about where to go. He made some great cocktails and was very entertaining and engaging.
They have a restaurant locally that delivers anything off the menu. We ordered a lovely wood oven pizza and salad and they came within 20 mins.

All in all, it was a very quick, reasonably priced unexpected stop over and I would definitely recommend.

Close to the centre of Mykonos (though a bit of a steep walk, good for burning off Ouzo), and with a gorgeous pool, Sofia Village is great Mykonos value. You can pay 2-3 times the amount for a similar room in a comparable location. The rooms were well kept, and the staff, particularly the bartender George, were some of the most helpful I've encountered.

I have to take off a point for no in-room WiFi, which is a given in a hotel of this calibre as far as I'm concerned.

My friend and I recently stayed at the Sofia Village for 6 nights, we're both young and were looking for a nice place to stay that was close to mykonos town! We had an amazing time here and it was exactly what we were looking for! The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was large and with well functioning shower facilities. We had a beautiful sea view as well as transfers to and from the port when we arrived and when we were leaving! Not only that but it was only a few minutes walk downhill to the centre of town, as well as to the bus stop for those who want to go clubbing at paradise. The walk back up wasn't that great but the amazing pool was always there to cool you down. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful with anything we needed! Excellent place to stay and would definitely recommend !!

Needed an overnight stay in Mykonos after 6 nights stay on the island of Paros, where my family & I were visiting friends. I needed a place with a pool where we would feel comfortable with our 6 year old son, who can be a bit loud ,excitable, but generally cute & funny. A sea view, transfers from the port, & then the next day to the airport..
Sofia Village, ticks all the boxes.
Picked up by Panos, Sofia's son at the port by minibus. Taken up the hill just above the town, gaining magnificent views & sunsets. Panos was chatty, friendly & informative during the journey pointing out locations, landmarks, the route down to the town via steps.
The pool was amazing, clear, clean & Just the right temp, comfy loungers, swings, beautiful flora.
Heaven.
We were welcomed by George, whom also runs the really cool bar overlooking the pool, couldn't meet a nicer bloke, chatty, friendly, helpful & makes a wickedly delicious frozen Apple Mojitos. Thanks for ordering dinner for us it was really good, & so cool to sit near the pool to eat it.
Sofia arrived shortly after us & gave us a lovely welcome.
Rooms are clean, fresh, basic, but great value for money, our shower was hot & powerful, A/C, nice little terrace with seating area.

Two nights in a comfortable and clean studio..the staff was very friendly and the pull looked welcoming (it was cold though n we didn t go in) only thing that could be a minus is that it is a bit too far from the center but if you don t mind walking a bit or you have a car or a scooter is a very good and affordable choise.
