“Sophisticated restaurant.”
Reviewed June 26, 2014

This place has been on Mykonos for decades but only recently change from a cocktail bar into a sophisticated restaurant.

We had dinner here twice and found the service is efficient and unpretentious, and the menu interesting. The food was a little too rich with very intense flavours for our taste.

Like many good quality restaurants it is expensive, €100 for dinner for 2, but if you are looking for fine dinning then give Kastro's a go.

Oh and by the way take cash as they have no card machine.

“Little Gem”
Reviewed June 25, 2014

With good views of the windmills and a water side location, the restaurant has a good selection and is reasonably priced. Beautifully presented, with courteous and attentive staff, it was an unhurried and delicious meal. Best to reserve stable (as ever) for sunset watching. We slipped back there for an afternoon and had a simply gorgeous time in their lane alongside, ice cold wine at a little secluded table for two.

“Resist the Temptation”
Reviewed June 25, 2014

This is an extremely popular restaurant and you need to book ahead. Unfortunately they booked us for the wrong day, and then had the cheek to tell us that they did not take credit cards because "their machine broke a few days ago". Any restaurant that cannot fix a credit terminal is somewhere I would not wish to eat because it suggests sloppiness. We walked out and dined at En Plo.

“Best restaurant in Mykonos Town”
Reviewed June 23, 2014 via mobile

Fantastic dinner watching the sun go down (book the table in the right hand corner window a few days before). Beef isn't good on the island so it's best avoided throughout Mykonos. Stick to fish, pork, lamb, chicken at this restaurant the fish was fantastic full of flavor wonderfully presented. Our son ordered the pork which was done with strawberries and tasted great. The staff are very attentive without being over the top. Kastro's isn't cheap but we were very happy that we got what we paid for. Kastro's has changed over the years from a busy gay bar into this comfortable friendly mixed restaurant.

“Mixed views”
Reviewed June 23, 2014

I have to say that this is a lovely restaurant with an amazing outlook over the water. Staff we're attentive and knew the menu very well and could explain the dishes on the menu.

Starters were nice I personally had the Moussaka which was really nice. My partner had a tomato dish and she enjoyed that too.

Unfornately the main courses werent as good. I had the lamb which wasnt very tender in places it was quite tough. My partner had the gorgonzola pasta which was totally overpowered by the cheese. It wasnt a bad meal. It just wasnt a great one either for the price.

For two people with bread, starters, mains and a couple of drinks it was 100 euros.
