“Very Comfortable, but small bathroom, SUPER hospitable staff”
Reviewed November 17, 2012

The staff were excellent - very hospitable, anticipated all of our needs, made us feel very at home, relaxed, comfortable. This is a very nice hotel in Mykonos, but like most hotels in Mykonos, there are little details missing polish - like very small bathroom. Shower was so small that the reflection of water off my body sprayed everywhere. It was on a busy road, but did not really notice the noise when on the hotel grounds, only when walking across the street to Starbucks or into town. You should note, if you are walking to the gay bars it is a downhill walk and probably 20 minutes depending where you are going, and coming home at night is a pain in the butt after dinner and a few drinks, let alone a night on the town. It is more relaxed to stay here and it is a short walk to the Elysium. You do need a rental car to go to any of the beaches on the island as they are very spread out. The pool is very nice, loungers are nice, although some in very slight disrepair, nice outside breakfast area, although menu very limited. Bed was very comfortable. I do think the standards are Mykonos are lower than many tourist destinations - there are some very nice/exceptional hotels in town if that is the level of quality you want - but this was generally the grade you would get with an upper class hotel. If you don't know, this hotel is gay. Food is disappointing in Mykonos - the breakfast/lunch items here were very good according to island standards, but only good compared to travel standards outside of greece.

Room Tip: ask for a room closer to the pool, and a quieter room for the best location.

If you go to this place then you better book an appartment. We got upgraded by friendly Davide and really enjoyed the appartment we got. It really felt like a home and was very complete and well styled.
The rooms could have nice creative names or at least a number as all front doors look the same.
It is quite a walk to the city, but if you stop at the Elysium hotel halfways for the view and a drink is really worth it. Back you should take a taxi which is only Euro 5,00.
The pool is a real plus of the hotel, it is huge, has nice furniture and a nice bar.

Hospitality, service and friendliness of all hotel staff was outstanding. The Geranium Hotel definitelly scores with the fantastic pool and bar area. However, down to the core essence of a hotel - the accommodation - this can only be rated poorly. A toilet seat underneath a shower, with a shower curtain half length, loose showerhead and bathroom fittings, massive cracks in the basin, an entrance door that couldn't be closed but only with acrobatic efforts, the safe not working at all and claustophobically frosted windows everywhere......that was unfortunatelly spoils the expectations drastically. The appartment we had would need substantial upgrading in order to level the price niveau. But again big thanks to the Geranium people that did their utmost to comfort us during our stay.

Its the second time staying at the Geranium and we again enjoyed our stay. The staff is super friendly with Davide making sure all our needs where catered for (booking scooters, arranging a masseur, picking us up at the airport etc etc).

The bar staff (Marco and Michaelis) are super friendly, cute and efficient.

The pool is big and tranquil with lots of sun beds for all the guests.

Just back from a relaxing week at the Geranium (my second time there)
Once again impressed by the friendly relaxed service on offer - there is a great pool with ample sunbeds, the whole complex has a pleasing aesthetic (furniture, decor) and there is none of the glitzy pretentiousness of other locales.
It is a short walk downhill into town (past the Elysium if you want a sunset cocktail - but trust me those at the Geranium are better) and the road by the hotel is convenient for getting to/from Elia beach without parking problems or traffic jams.
Nice sunset views from the upper floor, there is a great poolside breakfast (made by the ever cheerful Michaelis), complimentary airport transfers and - if you need it - a Starbucks across the road.
Well worth a visit - you will not want to leave!

Stayed here in July 2012 for 3 nights and had a lovely time.

Location is great - just 10 minutes downhill into town. Reception/management staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and fitted in exactly with the guys staying at the hotel, as did the bard staff.

Pool area is clothing optional.
