“Loved our stay!”
Reviewed July 24, 2013 via mobile

My wife and I stayed here for 6 nights during July and we could not have chose a better hotel. Anna and all the staff were very knowledgable about the island and even on one of our nights, Anna held a Greek night which included a small cooking class and Traditional Greek dancing. The pool and bar was such a nice place to chill out and relax at. The hotel is about a 10-15 min walk away from the town. At first we wanted to be in the heart of town but after a couple of days we realized it was a perfect location. It was nice to get away from the husle and bustle. Breakfast was great and provided a good range. All staff knew us by our first names which felt very welcoming. Rooms were very clean and great for the price. Sunsets from the pool were amazing and will def come back here if we return to Mykonos.

It's been said over and over but Hotel Tagoo is just the most amazing place to stay. Perfectly located just minutes from the town centre, views to die for but the most amazing friendly people who make you feel like you're at home. Anna and the whole team and family are such warm inviting beautiful people that will make sure everything you need is taken care of and nothing is too much trouble. Cannot recommend this highly enough, in fact it's so good I'm going back next week!!!

Room Tip: All of them!!!

My wife and I spent 3 nights in the middle of June at the perfect little get away. What was so great? The cost, location, property and Anna's (and her staff) ability to make you feel like you have never left home. From the pick up at the airport to the ride to the ferry port and everything in between makes Tagoo one of or all time favorite landing spots. The morning breakfasts to the fun and friendly pool area made it easy to hang out if you chose not to venture about. We can't wait to return.

Such a great, personal experience. I've never stayed at a hotel quite like Hotel Tagoo. It's like coming to your big Greek family's house and sitting down with them for Greek orientation before being let loose on the beautiful island of Mykonos! Anna truly succeeds in making her guests feel like family. The views are amazing, the staff friendly and helpful, breakfast tasty, and happy hour was a nice treat in the evenings. We attended a spur of the moment "Greek night" with the other guests of the hotel where Anna showed us how to make Tzaziki, treated us to home made pastries, and then her husband taught us how to do traditional Greek dancing. I can't wait to go back with my husband! If you don't mind a 10 minute walk to town--this is the place for you!

My husband and I stayed 3 nights at Hotel Tagoo in Sept 2012 - I can't believe I am just now sitting down to write a review! We booked the hotel based off the stellar reviews on Trip Advisor, and we were not disappointed! Yannis picked us up at the airport, which was great not to have to arrange transportation on our own. The hotel has a great location with amazing views from the pool area (and the sitting areas outside most rooms). It was very windy the week we were there, so we did not actually get in the pool, but we loved sitting in the lounge chairs by the pool to look at the view and, best of all, watch the sunset from there! The rooms were simply decorated, had in-room safes and a mini refrigerator (which was handy for wine!). The included breakfast was nice - typical European fare (cheese, sliced meat, yogurt, granola, fruit, with a few bread/pastry options as well). The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from town (one road all the way there, so it's easy) - downhill on the way into town, and uphill on the way back. A perfect way to work off some of the great Greek dinners we enjoyed in restaurants there!

As many other reviewers have said, Anna is what makes this hotel great. We would return for Anna's service alone! On the first night, she held a welcome meeting at the pool bar for the guests who had checked in that day (at which she offered guests a free ouzo), during which she provided tips about our stay - how to rent a car or 4-wheeler if interested, restaurants that were recommended, the layout of the island, beaches, and many helpful tips about the culture there that we wouldn't have known otherwise -- for example, that you don't tip in restaurants (as service charge is included in the price), but round up the bill; that restaurants will offer you bread when you sit down and you will be charged for it (but that it is OK to turn down the bread if you don't want it); which restaurants serve local fish (very few), etc. Anna doesn't recommend something because she is paid to or because she is friends with the owner -- you really get the sense that she stands behind her recommendations and does not take them lightly! She listens to feedback from her guests (at breakfast she usually asked where ate the previous night andyour opinion) so she is constantly updating her recommendations to reflect the latest feedback.

She was an amazing resource and totally made our trip -- if you don't use her advice, you are missing out! Each morning at breakfast we would describe what type of beach we were interested in (i.e. a party beach or something laid back), and she would recommend a beach, how to get there (we used public transportation to get around), and would call ahead to reserve chairs for us.

There were a couple of tiny blips during our stay which were flukes and totally outside of the hotel's control - and we were impressed at the way they were handled. The prior guests in our room broke the in-room safe, and we arrived on a weekend (when the hotel was fully booked), so the safe could not be replaced until Monday. Additionally, something in the lock on our room door got jammed in the locked position, resulting in us being locked out of our room for a few hours until someone could come to fix it (not a big deal - we just hung out at the pool!) Anna apologized profusely for these minor inconveniences and went above and beyond to make up for them -- she offered to keep our personal items in the hotel's safe until ours could be fixed; she insisted we accept a free cocktail from the pool bar while we were locked out, she drove us to the beach in her personal car since the lockout had caused a slight delay in our morning), and left a nice bottle of wine and note in our room again apologizing for the issues (which - again - were unforseeable and out of her control). We really appreciated these gestures and think it speaks a lot of the level of service Anna seeks to provide!

Visited Mykonos in July 2013 for our honeymoon as a gay couple from the states. We were made to feel like family for our entire stay. Anna and the entire staff are so friendly and helpful to create a very warm and inviting environment. They go out of their wait to introduce you to other guests to give more of a B&B feel than a "hotel".

The location is 10 minutes outside of the downtown (I timed it). As others have described, easier walk down the hill into town and a little harder walking back after an evening of bar hopping. I would NOT let this deter you from staying here. The views of the harbor and the cruise ships (you can even hear the morning announcements) are spectacular.

The pool and bar area are both very large with sufficient lounge chairs for all guests by the pool. The "Greek Night" put on by the staff is great with traditional Greek food, booze and dancing. Not to be missed!!

The value for this property is exceptional. It is very clean, well maintained and has a feel of a very traditional small Greek hotel. Best of all is the friendly and casual atmosphere created by Anna and the staff.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the middle or upper levels which will have better views of the harbor. The majori...
