“Great views with great service!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 16, 2009

We loved this charming little hotel. Stella and Antonio were lovely and so welcoming and informative. Our waitress, Neda, was adorable and you could tell that all the diners loved her. And the bartender, Theodore, was hilarious and makes a fabulous juice drink. The view from the pool is fabulous as was the view from our room (we had a sea view room). It's the best location since it's above looking down on the town and overlooking the sea. The shower was great with lots of water pressure. We were very happy with our choice and I am a very picky gal. And Stella was seriously great in person and on email prior to our arrival. We would definitely return to Venica!

The room was clean, but very small with a very small very very very hard bed. The room looked nice but was very uncomfortable. Ths balcony was nice and the view was nice. The room was very hot since the room key is needed to run the electricity and A/C in the room and the hote requires that when you leave the room that you turn the key in to the front desk each time and pick it back up when you return. The breakfast was nice and included. The walk into town is a bit stressfull with cars wipping by and getting lost (the front desk will give you a map with direction to town). Hotel was also hard to get to the hotel from the port.
Just a note, if you take a high speed make sure you check that you will be leaving from the same port you came in at. we did not know there were two ports and went to the wrong one, luckily we were early enoff to make the high speed at the correct port.

Dear guest,
we would like to thank you for your comments and feedback which is really important to us in order to improve our work.
Regarding your comment about the fact that the electricity is off each time the guests leave the room taking the key with them, please kindly note that we apply this policy in our hotel as a way to save energy and protect our planet which is in danger. Keeping the electricity and the relevant appliances in the room on, while the guests are out of the room, means spending much energy for no reason at all. In fact there is no need to let the air conditioning working 24 hours a day to have a cool room. A room can be cool enough after few minutes a guest coming back to the room turns on the air conditioning.
Our hotel tries in this way to contribute to the elimination of the phenomenon of the global warming and we will keep on finding new ways toward this direction.
With kind regards
Stella Michael

This hotel was definitely one of the nicest in the area! The views are just beautiful and there was a pretty good breakfast offered for free every morning! The room is a little on the cozy side but sufficient considering European standards. The bathroom was nice, great shower (which other places in Greece didn't have). The views from the pool are extraordinary and the Mykonos town is just a 10 min walk away. Beaches aren't very close, but I thought it was just fine. They have buses from Mykonos town which take you to any of the beaches (paradise beach etc). We just got an ATV from a local area and rode it around the island, it was a lot of fun!

After about 20 hours of traveling, walking through the doors of the Vencia was a treat. The lady at the front desk (as well as all the staff) was especially nice and helpful, told us the "short-cut" to get into town, answered any questions we had and was more than accomodating in scheduling tours (we did our tour of Delos through the hotel and got a decent price), rentals, etc.. There was free wifi available in the public areas like the lobby, and a computer available for use as well next to the lobby desk.

Our triple room was lovely and consisted of 3 twin beds, 2 pushed together and 1 single. The bathroom was beautiful too. There was a TV and a mini fridge, but we hardly used either. Definitely good to have though! The view was breathtaking - right off the infiniti pool with a view of the town and harbor in the distance... such a welcome surprise for our first REAL Greek experience! The hotel itself is situated up a hill and overlooks Mykonos Town, which gave us a perfect view of the town in the mornings and at sunset but also ensured we were far enough away from town to avoid late-night noise or traffic. We had a tasty, complimentary breakfast almost every morning out on the veranda that consisted of breads, cereal, fresh fruits (the best honeydew melon I've had in a LONG time!), meats and cheeses and a few choices of fruit juice.

The only drawback I would mention for some travelers is that, unless you plan to taxi or rent scooters/ATVs, be prepared for the hike to/from the hotel. I'm not in the kind of shape I'd like to be, so I was definitely winded after making the hike up from town. Other than that minor note, the Vencia was perfect and got a definite big thumbs up from me and my fellow travelers.

We stayed at the Vencia in June 2009. Our experience at the Vencia was perfect. We booked this room well over six months in advance after extensive review over the Internet and it was exactly as pictured and described on website. Stella was so helpful before we arrived - very quick to respond to my email inquiries. She and her brother were more than helpful with everything, including cancelling flights, booking ferry service and renting scooters. Our room was perfect with a wonderful balcony overlooking the spectacular pool and Mykonos town. The shower had good water pressure (sometimes hard to find in Europe). The walk to town was quick and well worth it to have the view. Would definitely stay here again.

Stella and Antonio were absolutely wonderful hosts in this hotel. It truly is a hotel with a bar inside and one at the pool, superb restaurant, and supportive staff. The hotel sits just above Mykonos town making walking into town really quite simple - walking up is a little exercise, but it is really not very difficult. Listen to Stella, listen to Stella, listen to Stella. She gives excellent advice and knows the inside out of her island. She knows which restaurants are the best and which beaches will be best for your needs. Nida the waitress in the restaurant at night always wears a smile. They are willing to prepare whatever you would like if you give them some notice in the morning. The rooms are well appointed. We were upgraded to a Superior Suite - it is incredibly roomy with a huge balcony. We spent 4 nights in the Superior Suite and two in the Junior Suite. The Junior Suite seemed small by comparison, but if we had never been in the Superior Suite, not knowing the difference it would have been more than adequate. The breakfast is very good with a variety of eggs, pastries, meats, cheeses, juices, coffees and teas. The infinity pool provides a nice entrance to Mykonos. I would not hesitate to stay at the Vencia again.

This hotel exceeded all expectations. We were so happy with it when we arrived that we talked about never leaving. All of the staff are exceedingly helpful. The pool and view are amazing. It is worth the cost to get a room with a sea view. Before our trip, we were concerned about the quality of the bathrooms at any hotel in Mykonos, but everything about this hotel was amazing.
