“A great home base in Mykonos”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 16, 2012

The Vencia was our favorite hotel on our tour of Mykonos, Naxos and Santorini. There's a great vibe about it that made me feel at home. The staff is friendly, the views are amazing, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. It's perfectly situated to give you the benefit of being close to the main town, but far enough away to enjoy the views and the peace and quiet. It isn't a 5-star resort, but it's definitely an upscale hotel that offers great value for money without making any compromises. I won't bother looking anywhere else on my next trip to Mykonos.

Stayed here for three nights in July in a garden room at the end of our summer holiday. Great value for money. The hotel has everything you could want, great restaurant, service, location and an awesome pool area. Both the restaurant and pool overlook Mykonos town and the Aegean sea. The pool bar is open all day and you can order food from the restaurant pool side, Mojitos are the house specialty and worth every penny. My only small gripe is that while we were there people would put their towels and personal belongings on the pool loungers before breakfast and essentially reserve them for the whole day which I find quite inconsiderate as there is not that many loungers - this is no reflection on the hotel, I just found it to be a pain. Reception staff are very helpful and the breakfast delicious. Don't miss this place on your next trip to Mykonos!

Room Tip: We had the most basic room (garden room). We found the room to be value for money, spacious and priv...

Loved everything about this place. The susets at the pool were amazing. Not to be missed. The staff was fun and helpful. The breakfast was great and there was nothing better than waking up and having breakfast on the beautiful terrace overlooking the ocean. I am looking forward to returning.

We had a wonderful few days at the Vencia for the double celebration of our honeymoon and my birthday. The staff were as welcoming as the other reviews suggest (rose petals scattered on our bed, and the birthday cake were much appreciated touches). The hotel is beautifully furnished, and the views of the sunsets over Mykonos town are stunning.
The walk down into town is fine, though the first few minutes are along a narrow road with tight bends and no pavement.
We were there in early September and had no problem getting a sun lounger by the pool, but I guess in peak season you may need to get there early.
It's not a cheap option, but I think that's as much a reflection of the fact that Mykonos is not a budget destination. Highly recommended for a treat.

Room Tip: We stayed in (I think!) a junior suite - room 140. Outstanding views from the balcony, which overlo...

In terms of both location and service, the Vencia is the perfect hotel for enjoying the charms and attractions of Mykonos. The hilltop location overlooking the town and the sea is magnificent. It is a very quiet spot for relaxing, and yet it is only a ten-minute walk from all the downtown action. The hotel's infinity pool with its lounges and bar area is a very welcoming place with an incredible, mesmerizing view any time of day. Don't miss sunset here! Dimitris, the bartender, is the best mixer of cocktails (got to have the mohito!) and music, and he is friendly and knowledgeable about the town and the island. All of the hotel staff were professional, most pleasant and eager to help in any way (suggestions, directions, reservations, etc.). Breakfasts, included in the room price, were very good in terms of both quality and quantity of foods and beverages. We also enjoyed the lunch and dinner menus, both of which we sampled. All areas of this hotel, pool area, restaurant, rooms, were bright, clean and well-maintained. Although the peace and comfort at the Vencia often made it difficult to leave the hotel, whenever we did we enjoyed the fact that all of Mykonos' attractions were very accessible -- lots of bars and restaurants as well as public transportation to the island's beaches were only a ten or fifteen minute stroll away. To conclude, on a return to Mykonos, we would most definitely stay at the Vencia again!

Room Tip: Since you will not spend much time in your room, choose the least expensive room category. These ro...

We highly, highly recommend this hotel. Stella and the rest of the staff go very far out of their way to provide gracious, helpful service. We thought each and every person we encountered at the hotel, from the maid to the night staff attendant, to the bartenders and servers, to the hotel driver, was friendly and helpful. As other posters have noted, the views and facilities are top notch (I suppose, if forced to offer one criticism, we'd say that the beds were a little tough -- but the overall hotel experience was SO positive that even saying that feels unfair somehow). We also don't agree with those who found the walk down to the town difficult or dangerous - it's easy, the town is only about 7 minutes away, and the road has plenty of space for pedestrians to walk out of the traffic. I'm not sure why anyone would stay elsewhere on the island.

This is a very nice hotel for whom would like to combine some peace time and stay in a location walking distance from the city center ( but you would have to cross 2 streets before you get there) . It's romantic, modest and calm with a little swimming pool to enjoy during the day overlooking a nice top view of Mykonos.. If I had a little thing to critisize it would be the fact that the staff could have been more helpful with directions and touristic suggestions. I like a hotel that makes you feel welcome and at ease, It's quite clean and the breakfast is lovely on the terrasse.
