“unique luxury and hospitality”
Reviewed February 19, 2014

We booked at Castle Panigirakis this summer (2013) for 3 days and it was beyond our expectations. Once in a life you have to live in a Windmill’s house.
Great view of the port and town of Mykonos, comfortable and clean rooms, privacy (as is only three rooms), quiet place, private roof/garden and with full kitchen equipment and furniture selections.
Well decorated, modern design with respect at the castle's history and philosophy. Perfect location , very close to the center of Mykono's town (only 10 minutes by feet).
We love the flexibility of breakfast time and the home-made products. Mr Anastasis (the owner) is so helpful , familiar , polite . We felt that we were at our home with his kindness. We are looking forward for our next stay in Panigiraki's Castle to enjoy again the unique hospitality.

The owner, Anastasis, is a real nice guy who started helping me after booking. Provide free pick up from the port and free transport to airport as well. The castle is excellent, located at 10mins walking from city centre. Away from the hustle you can enjoy a full quietness and privacy - real PRIVACY as there is only ONE guesthouse and you can enjoy the whole castle alone. Many excellent photo points and I really enjoy taking my wedding pics there. The room itself is much better than I expect - clean, neat and new. Lots of fine decoration. Wi-fi is OK with the Wi-fi repeater. I must say this hotel definitely worths the price. A must stay in Mykonos if you don't want the hustle of the city. Highly recommended for honeymoon! Remarks: may not need to rent a car if you enjoy walking, and indeed you can simply kill a couple of days by relaxing in the castle.

The Windmill estate is the perfect place to stay in Mykonos! The renovated windmill is beautifully decorated inside and out, offering splendid views of Mykonos town below. You'll want to rent an ATV or car, however, as the location is high on hill up from the main town. Plus, Mykonos' beaches are best explored with the help of your own personal transportation!

The host, Anastasis, was wonderful. For example, when we locked ourselves out during a dinner party, he was there with a new key in less then five minutes! (Be careful, the door locks automatically when you close it!). Overall, it was a magnificent experience. Some technical notes: the estate has wonderfully fast WiFi that even works out on the patio, if you need it. And, they offer both port and airport transfers, as well as beach towels for your long days on the Mykonos beaches.

No matter if this is your first stay or your twentieth on Mykonos, you should absolutely try the windmill!

If you really want to do something more for yourself this is a perfect choice! My wife and I had stayed in the windmills guest house for five days and we decided to go for the last day to the windmill apartment! Such a good decision, it was a cherry on top of our vacation! The veranda of the windmill is probably the best 25 m2 on the entire Mykonos island, with absolutely the best sunset view ever! - Anastatis is a very friendly host and very professional in his work! He help us with his tips and drove us to the port and back! Soo coming next year.. Milos

We were lucky enough to stay in both the Windmill and Studio in August. Although we were booked into the studio, we experience a small problem in the studio with the shower and electricity, so Anastasis kindly moved us into the windmill whilst the issue was repaired. Overall our stay surpassed any previous stay in Mykonos - the view is picture postcard. The Windmill and studio offer unforgettable, unique experiences, and Anastasis is the perfect host - always helpful yet allowing guests to enjoy the spacious and private surroundings of the property. Whilst there is parking at the Windmill, we quickly learned (and Anastasis warned us) that the the road leading to the windmill is extremely narrow in parts and it is best to go for a small car. You can easily walk into town although it is a steep climb up from Mykonos Town. But let's face it, you can't get all that the Windmill has to offer without a little effort. We loved being self-contained and having so much space and privacy but still within reach of Mykonos Town. Both places are thoughtfully and comfortably appointed. The beds are extremely comfortable and of good size and quality. The windmill and studio both have their own private outdoor space to enjoy. The terrace for the windmill is extremely generous with magical view whilst the studio has a lovely Juliet type balcony and sitting area off to the side of the studio, again with amazing views over Mykonos town and the old port. The studio has one large window which means you enjoy the incredible views from everywhere in the studio. The windmill has smaller windows which frame the view like picture, capturing the magical views in each direction. The windmill is split over three levels. The top floor is the master room and small en-suite with incredible views. It still contains the original windmill wheel in the room which turns when the breeze is strong enough. The middle floors has a desk, sitting room and again beautiful view. On the ground floor is a kitchen, small dining table and bathroom - unfortunately the windows are tiny on the ground floor so you don't get to appreciate the view so much on the ground floor. The windmill has an outdoor shower which is amazing after returning from a day at the beach and with the summer heat of Mykonos. We love the windmill and studio. Believe me, you wont want to leave; we didn't and can't wait to return!

It was such a treat to stay at Panigirakis Castle. The location was superb, and the grounds of the castle were stunning and like a fairy tale. Anastasis went out of his way to make sure that we had everything we needed and helped with suggestions and arrangements of massage, reservations etc. A truly unique way to visit and see Greece and would absolutely recommend this. We look forward to travelling back to Greece and when we do, we would hope to stay at the castle again.

The best, panoramic view of Mykonos center city, we enjoyed the birds singing in the morning, the beautiful sunset, and the fantastic night view in the cozy, quiet guest room, we had very romantic moment when staying in the windmill guest house. I will say, this is the perfect place for honeymooner !

The host dear Mr. Anastasis, is very very kind and generous, he took care all our enquiries, and the other little host - Myk, a gentle meek big dog, expected our return at all time, we love their accompany and hospitality~~~

The experience was like stay in a sweet, cozy home, but the spectacular world-class scenery pop in your vision every morning~~~~

Good memories ....
