When arriving at Mykonos airport we were picked up by the hotels bus and taken to the hotel. On entering the hotel the first thing you notice is the beautiful room and then the fantastic view over Mykonos Town and the bay. After a warm welcome we were shown to our room which was on the ground floor. The room was huge and could be categorized as a Junior Suite with a terrace overlooking the town and bay. Breakfast is included in the room price and is buffet style, there is hot food, fruit, yoghurt, cold meats and cheese, croissants bread etc. my only suggestion would be to provide a toaster. The hotel has a bar and a drink of wine watching the sun go down (about 7.25pm in September) is a glorious way to start the evening. We love this beautiful hotel, and Sophia the manager (owner) plus all the family staff. Fabulous hotel in a magical position. We will return.

My Partner Mike and I have just returned from our eleventh holiday at Alkyon.Having stayed here from the "Early Days" we have seen the Hotel grow and improve from a good Hotel to an Excellent beautiful Base for our two week Annual Holiday in mykonos.

From the Alkyons private Mercedes pick up at the Airport to our Return Journey our stay at Alkyon was the best of our Eleven visits.

The rooms are beautiful, clean and spacious with very comfortable beds, full size bath and a shower with very hot water. Many with views over the sea over numerous other greek Islands.
Alkyon offers daily a superb breakfast on the sea view terrace with Bacon eggs, sausage, tomato, mushrooms, ham, cheese yogourt peaches, honey, various bread types, home made sponge cakes( oh wow) a variety of biscuits , tea coffee and orange juice.
The pool area is one of the best in Mykonos with easily the best views from any pool area, this is a great place to enjoy the sunset with a glass of wine or a cocktail from the Bar made by the Barman for 2013 Christos, this man is the best addition to the hotel in 2013, his cocktails have the wow factor!

An excellent Hotel, professionally run by Sophia up front.

Thank you Sofia and Family for another wonderful stay

John and Mike from Manchester

See you next year

Design
- Room AND bathroom are v spacious with simple furnishings on the interior. All rooms are built in the cyclades way - white plastered walls and floors with rounded edges, all part of fully immersing in a Greek holiday. We asked for a room with a sea view... the outdoor patio was such an enjoyable bonus.

View
- We spent hours just enjoying the view. Be it from our room, the pool or the breakfast deck, being at the top of Mykonos, you can see the town, the windmills, little Venice, the port... it's a view not many other hotels can offer in Mykonos.

Honeymoon
- Hotel was kind to welcome us with a delicious Semeli white wine.

Tips:
- Rent a scooter. Ask reception to arrange it for you.
- Mykonos town/Little Venice is an easy 15min walk down the hill, but walking up the poorly lit roads is no fun if you ain't fit or can't see well at night. The cab ride costs around 3 to 5 euros.
- BOOK EARLY for summer! We booked the rooms in May and the prices tripled or quadrupled 2 months later.
- The only other two hotels that seem good and on the top were Hermes and Vencia, both around 5min away. But Alkyon seems quieter, which we like :)

Room Tip: Go for the rooms with a sea view, it's worth it... in fact, it was the same price as the other r...

We specifically selected this hotel as it was a little bit away from the centre of Mykonos town and were delighted with the location - just a 10 minute walk down a path into the centre of the town. We asked for a deluxe double with a sea view and were not disappointed. The room was beautifully decorated with double doors leading to a shared patio overlooking the town and out to the sea. The pool area is brilliant, very relaxing with a pool bar that sold yummy cocktails. Hily recommend for a stay in Mykonos.

Room Tip: Pay the little extra for a deluxe double with sea view, it's worth it!

This is our second time visiting the Alkyon. The rooms are basic and offer fantastic views over the town, wonderful for watching the sunset. The beds are very large (super-king) and very comfortable. The cleaning service is second to none and the rooms were always spotless when we returned to our room after a day at the pool or beach. Its less than a 10 minute walk down to the town, a bit of a steep climb coming back. We did stay on foot but a cab should cost just a few euro from the town. The bus to Elia Beach stops outside the hotel and takes about 15/20 mins. Breakfast is pretty basic but offers enough to sustain you well into the afternoon, it includes a good selection of pastries and cakes along with some hot options with orange squash rather than juice. There's a new poolside bar and Christos was very obliging bringing his excellent cocktails to our terrace for sunset. Likewise, poolside service is excellent. On a whole, friendly staff, efficient and friendly airport transfer service, nice rooms, excellent views and a great pool.
