Hotel Alkyon in Mykonos is a Gem. Everything about it was 100% perfect. Hotel offers complimentary Airport pick-up and drop-off saving you about 10 Euro each way should you catch a cab. When we arrived at the Hotel, Sofia greeted us with a smile and a warmth that is very rarely experienced at a hotels front desk. She was always 100% helpful and tried to make us as comfortable as possible. The Front Desk Area is amazing, almost like a living room in a very expensive house! Walk on the Patio to the Breakfast and Swimming Pool Area and you will find a breathtaking veiw of Mykonos! All of Mykonos town and the Port can be seen from the Hotel.

When we were taken to our Room, we were pleasantly surprised. When they said sea veiw - they meant it! All of the rooms had an amazing veiw of Mykonos with a small patio for you to enjoy the amazing veiw and magical sunsets. The inside of the room was also quite spacious and we had more than enough room. The room was also 100% Clean, so was the bathroom. Rooms had a safe and fridge.

Location of the hotel is great. Very close to the Airport and the town of Mykonos. There is a path leading into town that takes about 10 mins to walk down, but it was not a very nice walk. It did not matter to us though - because we never used it. Do yourself a favour and see Mykonos by Quad Bike - just like all the tourists do. Sofia can arrange a Quad bike to be brought to you at the Hotel and you can keep it as many days as you are in Mykonos. This is the best way to see the island, you can go to any beach or anywhere else in Mykonos with it.

Mykonos is a magical place. Whether you are there to Party, Shop or Relax - there is something for everyone. And this Hotel is the Gemstone that will make your stay in Mykonos even more memorable. Overall it was one of the best experiences ive had at a hotel. And for the price that we paid - It was 100% worth it. Cannot go wrong.

Room Tip: All rooms that I saw were good - had a sea veiw.

Great communication with hotel management before the holiday started. We had free hotel transfers from the port. The views from this hotel are absolutely amazing. Breakfast was delicious and a wide range to choose from. The swimming pool was a good size and the lounge area around the pool is lovely, again with great views of the sea and town. The walk to town was 10 to 15 minutes and there are various routes you can take. We enjoyed the exercise and the sights as we strolled into town. The only negative, bathroom could do with a renovation but that wouldnt stop us from returning. We loved this Hotel.
Sophia thank you.

We stayed at the hotel Alkyon as part of an extended honeymoon with friends. The service was way above pair. Just as an example, I really stubbed my toe and I didnt have a bandaid. They didnt have any onhand so the front desk sent their transportation guy up to the store to get me some. What hotel does that?! Wow. Anyway, the lobby and pool area are fabulous, and the breakfast in the morning has a huge variety. The rooms are spacious with large patios. The only complaint I would have is that the mattresses are very hard and the lighting in the bathroom was very dim. The hotel will pick you up or drop you off at the ferry or airport for free, and help you rent ATVs. They had a great recommendation for a Taverna just outside of town that ended up being our best meal. Bravo Hotel Alkyon!

Room Tip: Sea view rooms are great

To add to the countless Perfect 5 Star reviews - I also salute Sophia and her team for their beyond call-of-duty services that made all the differences for our vacation experience. It was icing on the cake that the hotel happens to be suberb with a fantastic view you would just love to stay and savour.

Alkyon was half the price of our Santorini hotel but at twice the value and enjoyment. The dining and pool area has a breathtaking view to relax and chill out. Sophia is always smiling and helpful - she even helped us settled a parking ticket and assured us not to worry about such things while on holiday.

From the moment we were picked up tll dropped off again for departure - our experience was that of a hearty welcome and hope to see us again - which we will!

Thank you Sophia for making you and the hotel a precious part of our holiday memories.

Cheers!
David

We just got back from our trip, and Alkyon Hotel was a gem in Mykonos. First of all, before choosing this hotel I read the reviews the good and the bad. I am kind of shocked to see some people say they are "seasoned travellers" and rated the hotel very bad because they got a view with no room through a travel agent.
It was our 1st time in Mykonos, however, with little research a seasoned traveller can understand that Mykonos is packed on the weekends, everybody wants a seaview room, and if you go through a travel agent or a tour to any place like this you get the worst available...
So I suggest, call the hotel before going here. Sofia speaks good English. Ask for rooms with better views and which price they can give you. We changed our travel dates so we can stay in a better room, and got one of the better rooms. We offered to pay cash, we had a great panaromic view and a wonderful kingsize bed. (welcome to Europe travellers, if you book through agents or websites they give much less to the hotel and you don't get the best room)
This is more like a travellers tip then a hotel review, but I couldn't help after reading the reviews and expecting rude staff. Sofia arranged someone to pick us from the ferry, and even at 2:00 am her father dropped us to the port. I asked for a taxi and didn't ask for a transfer btw. Expecting transfers from a family run B&B is I think very inappropriate. If you get it, great, but if not, you ask for a taxi.
This hotel is well run, reasonably priced for Mykonos (average price for a cocktail is 12€ all around the island), and has one of the the best sunset views. It is up a hill (if you want a view then you pay the price). We rented an ATV this hotel was only 2 minutes from town, we also walked down for 2 nights and got a taxi back to the hotel (4€).
We got all we expected and much more from this hotel, and will go back with family!!!

Room Tip: avoid high season, avoid weekends, call beforehand

We stayed at this very, very nice hotel in Mykonos. Sophia at the front desk was the most helful person we have encountered in the hospitality business. She was always ready to give us advise on where to eat and what to see. The place is spotless, with a great view of the bay and harbor below. We will be going back again in September. Great place with great price.
