I have stayed many times now at lovely family run Jason Hotel and it does indeed get better each time if that is at all possible to improve on such a lovely traditional family run hotel. This year has seen some major refurbishment with a new reception area and breakfast room, new bathrooms, and reconfiguration of rooms. I was most impressed with the quality of the renovations. Flat screen TV's and a secure safe in each room, and improved air conditioning, double glazing and new patio doors helping with security and noise. Rooms are sparkling clean and clean towels every day. The cleaner is quite clearly a superwoman. By the time you have had breakfast or your early morning swim, your room will have been completely transformed. I stayed in the spacious room 113 which has a lovely patio with views over the pool area and a proper bath. Breakfast is continental with as much as you like and eggs from the family's chickens. There is free excellent WiFi in rooms and pool area and free use of a computer in the reception/lounge area. Nothing is too much trouble. They go the extra mile in providing personal touches for individual guests. I stayed independantly and was kindly picked up and taken to the airport by members of the family . The location out of town is ideal as it is much quieter. The bus stops right outside and runs regularly for €1.60 before midnight and €2.00 after midnight. Taxi fares are anything from €5-€10 for local trips to town or Ornos. There is a new addition of an ATM near by which is very useful. The local supermarket is well stocked and just around the corner is a lovely snack bar selling fresh fruit juices, smoothies and pastries. There are 2 very close places to eat, a traditional Greek taverna and an Italian/pizza restaurant within easy walking distance. Ice cream, toasties, sandwiches and pizza are available at the hotel but when their Greek and fruit salads are so delicious you probably won't want to try the fast food options. The bar is well stocked and very reasonable and there is plenty of information available for good local bars, reastuarants and tavernas and other activites. None of the cards in reception advertized anywhere that I wouldn't go myself. There is even a qualified physiotherapist available to come and give you a massage should you wish. You do need to travel to the nearest beach in Platys Yialos either by a brisk 20 minute downhill walk or by bus. It is possible to walk to Ornos beach from the hotel, the owners will tell you which path to take. You can take the coastal path from Platys Yialos to Agia Anna and Paranga beach or by water taxi from Platy Yialos to a variety of splendid beaches for about €7return.
In short. Value for money is excellent, quality of accomoadation and service is outstanding, and it is Greek filoxenia is at it's best. I can't wait to return and see the planned updating of the pool area in 2013.

Room Tip: Rooms in the main block are quieter than the rooms in the separate block due to the proximity of the...

I've just spent an enjoyable week at the Jason hotel, the studio apartment was was ideal for 2 people free airconditioning & safe makes a change.
The room was spotlessly clean as is everything about this hotel, friendly staff make you feel at home right away.
We had the only room overlooking the pool area so ask for room 115 this has a small area for dining at the front which is nice to have your lunch at and has the late afternoon sun made enjoyable by Maria's father bringing homemade cherry brandy to sample
The pool area like evrywhere in this hotel is spotless sunbeds are cushioned and plentiful

The food is basic but good fare 9 euros for a tasty pizza and cheese toasties for 2.5 euros and a fantastic fruit salad for 5.50

There are a 3 restaurants and 2 supermarkets two mins down the road, and thats the only real disappointment because thats it, if you want a bar you either walk 25 mins down the hill to paradice or wait for a bus which is every 30 mins or catch the bus into Mykonos town which is only 10 mins away or a nice town called Onous is 20 mins walk down hill which has many bars and restaurants but you will have to walk it back up the hill as thers no direct bus to, from the hotel.
Mykonos town is beautiful white buildings with narrow rabbit warren streets spotlessly clean, the inner streets are packed with restaurants offering Greek and Italian dishes and various bars and taverns.
The port bars offer views of liners docking for th eday tourists

Room Tip: Room 115 is the only room with a direct pool view

This small family run hotel consists of a series of immaculately maintained whitewashed buildings set around an attractive, relaxed pool area.

My room was spotlessly clean and decorated in the traditional Greek style (whitewashed walls, wooden furniture, twin beds) with modern facilities including air conditioning, fast, free Wi-Fi, TV and fridge. It had an excellent modern bathroom with a shower over a bath. The only thing the room lacked was tea/coffee making facilities so if you like coffee in your room bring a travel kettle.

The hotel owners were friendly and helpful and the housekeeping was faultless, the room was cleaned daily, the housekeeper having an extraordinary knack of knowing when I was out before cleaning the room. Not once was I disturbed when having a lie-in.

The location is Glastros on the road between Mykonos town and Platy Yalos. There is a supermarket, bakery, cash machine and a good reasonably priced Taverna (Andreas and Maria) nearby.

Plati Yalos is a 20min walk away (down a steep hill - the walk down is pleasant but I found the walk back hard), or 5min (2€) bus journey. From Plati Yalos you can get a boat (7€ return) to the beaches of Paradise, Super Paradise and Elia).

Mykonos town is a 5 min (5€) taxi ride or 10 min (2€) bus journey.
Buses run from directly outside the hotel every half hour until 3am.

I can not comment on the breakfast as I never got up in time but I did try the very good Greek Salad served at the poolside.

I would recommend this hotel.

Just came back from a week at this lovely little gem of a hotel. Sparkling clean everywhere. Friendly helpful staff and good location for buses to Mykonos town and to the beaches. Very good restaurants nearby and supermarket too. We had a studio apartment for 3 grown ups and loved every single moment of our stay. The only sad thing is that Thomsons have pulled out of package holidays to Mykonos so i do hope the hotel and the island still get the visitors they need as it is such a gorgeous place.

I stayed at Hotel Jason for 5 nights and it is absolutely wonderful. Poppy and Maria are so helpful, friendly and are willing and able to assist you with everything and answered all of my questions. The room was clean and tidy and had air conditioning which was great. The pool and surrounding area is very nice to spend a day relaxing by the pool and you can order food and drinks. I really enjoyed my stay and want to send a big thank you to Poppy and Maria.

This was our 2nd visit to the Jason and may I say it was better than ever. The reception area and some of the rooms have had an upgrade and it makes the whole place look even better if that was ever possible. The same friendly atmosphere and excellent service remains the same and it is a pleasure to chat with all the family.
Looking forward to our 2 visits already organised for next year

We had a perfect week's holiday staying at the Hotel Jason recently and can't wait to return. We also stayed in spacious room 117, at the end of June, and would have to disagree with the last reviewer about the lack of outside space. In the week we were there, we saw only one person pass our outside space,(which was larger than many balconies we have experienced) and that was the housekeeper. Room 117 has 2 windows, and you can see the sea in the near distance from one of them. The laundry area IS next door, but only the hanging space for the sheets, which smelled gorgeous and fresh! We really could not fault this hotel. The owners were unobtrusive and friendly and have the relationship just right. Hotel Jason, please don't change!

Room Tip: Room 117 is a little gem.
