“A little bit if luxury!”
Reviewed September 24, 2013

Arrived at the Ostraco Suites in early September and got an upgrade to the honeymoon suite! We were married 28 years this year and celebrated our anniversary in September so it made us feel a bit special. For any occasion we can say that the Ostraco Suites are well worth the extra money. Would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for something a bit different with a touch of luxury. A ten minute walk to downtown Mykonos, they are well located although the walk is via a practically unlit steep lane. The journey back can be challenging but keeps you fit! Would we go back? Absolutely!

Our first time in Mykonos and it was brilliant! The Ostraco staff simply made it brilliant. The reception staff were helpful with the recommendations of day trips and beaches and Stergios, the super cool bar man, was brilliant! He made such a super effort to make our holiday special and he was so much fun! Thank you Ostraco. I'll be back. X

First time in Mykonos and Ostraco Suites..- We just can say on thing: we will come back for sure! We had a great time and enjoyed very much our stay!

The hotel was very nicely set and calm. Staff were very welcoming and the service was very good! We loved the relaxing swimming pool with the launch music and the pool bar !
A big thanks to Stergios Lekkas at the pool bar, who made our stay so much fun!

Mykonos is just Unique. This blue and white colors and small paths in the village looks like a dream come true! We rented a quad and visited other places in the island!
Great food, amazing spots and beaches in the middle of the sea.. spectacular!

We can just recommend it!

This was my second trip to the wonderful island of Mykonos and my friend and I loved the hotel. The service is amazing, the staff are super friendly and helpful - the lovely owner/manager gave us some great recommendations for dinner/beaches etc. and the whole staff in general treated us really well. The pool and bar area is great when you want to relax at the end of the day before going out and breakfast is delicious... Definitely rent a motorbike/quad/car, totally worth it. You can walk into town fairly easily, bit of a hill on the way back at night but we did it and didn't have a problem with it at all. Love Mykonos, and loved Ostraco Suites. I for one will definitely be back!

We hadnt stayed on Mykonos for 30 years, having been there on honeymoon in 1983! Then, all we could afford was a shed in someones garden, or it felt like it! Anyway, 30 years on the place has changed dramatically as you would expect. The old town is the same layout, obviously, but the hills have been built on but luckily in typically greek isalnd style so no high rise blocks or towers. We had a suite (room 102) overlooking the sea and islands and the sunsets were magnificent. The room was a small villa really, though, oddly , despite having a cooking ring, there were no plates, cutlery or crockery? There was a kettle and a fridge with expensive mini bar items so at east we could make a cup of tea, or would if theyd have left cups. No real issue though as a word with Manos at breakfast and we had both provided. The suite was very nice and 'shabby chic' in apearance, perhaps a slightly better attention to maintenance wouldnt go amiss though, several lights didnt work and I fixed the radio - very minor complaint and I didnt mention it at the time. All the staff are really helpful and we had opted for the £15 pick up as the ferry port (we arrived fromParos) was worth it as the new port is miles outside the centre.

Breakfast was good, if not exceptional, but the choices were available for most tastes and Manos chatted quite happily to us so anyting we wanted we could get, really. Coffee was mega strong though - beware. The pool area is small but perfect if you like sunbathing , water was very cold but clean and fresh. There could be more shade provided as I would imagine in the high heat it could be uncomfortable and the beds arent desiged for lying down for too long! There is a nice little bar area which we didnt use that much but was pleasant enough. Food wise, we only had one meal there as room service and it was good but there isnt a restaurant as such.

Location wise, the road outside is lethal and you need to be really carefull crossing, its quite a long walk down to Chora but ask the staff for the short cut, far safer and it feels like the 'old' Mykonos. Taxis back from the Bus station cost about £4 but are well worth it when you can get one! - there are only 30 taxis on the island!! Dont try and get one from the harbour, walk up through the streets to the bus station - you'll never get one otherwise. We got stuck for about 30 minutes once in the heat and I called Ostraco and they sent the bus to get us - can't moan at that service!

Get a car for a few days, otherwise the town can be quite boring after a while (unless you are heavily into shopping). We had one for 2 days as we wanted to see more of the Island itself. Well worth it as there are very nice coves and beaches, we visited Paradise Beach, which, 30 years ago, you could only get to by boat - boy, what a difference its now a club on a huge scale, nice atmosphere but definitey too old now - it made an old man very happy :-)

For drinks, go to Kastro's Bar in Little Venice, nice atmosphere and cocktails arent too expensive plus its overlooking the sea, so a visit during the day is recommended as well as later at night, around 21:30, to people watch. Just below there is Katarina's Bar and restaurant, brilliant food and again near the sea - try having the mixed starter, greek salad and Pitta, plus a bottle of Santorian white - lovely :-) we went 3 times in the end plus they take cards.

Overall I would highly rate Ostraco as a base for seeing more of Myknonos by car, or for chilling out. The staff are really helpful and couldn't do more to assist us. Thanks again guys, Efaristo Poli.

Room Tip: Go for 101, 102 or the other ones on the front. The road can be noisy but they have AC and doube gl...

We returned to Ostraco for a second stay this August and it was just as heavenly as we had remembered. The hotel manages to strike the perfect balance between top quality service and a laid back, relaxed vibe. The same staff were working there and some of them recognised us which made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. We were upgraded to a stunning room with a huge terrace and, although the rooms are fairly small, they are perfectly presented and the bed is blissfully comfortable. Breakfast is a real spread and a stunning setting right by the pool. Ahhh, the pool! With low key music throughout the day, huge sun beds and tip top bar service, it's hard to tear yourself away. The menu had been expanded since we last came such that they serve food from 2pm into the evening and everything we had from that was delicious. The icing on the cake was that we passed through Mykonos on our last day and had a few hours between our ferry docking and our plane taking off. We called to ask if we could pop back to drop our bags and sit by the pool and they were incredibly flexible, treating us as if we were still staying there. This really is a cut above other luxury hotels we've stayed in and I couldn't recommend it enough.
