From the minute we were picked at the port (the hotel offers free transfers), we knew that this hotel was the right choice. Upon arriving at the hotel, we were warmly greeted by Margarita who treated us like family and took the time to give us great recommendations of things to do and great restaurants around Mykonos.

The rooms are all very modern, with comfortable beds and large bathrooms. Ours had a private balcony with an amazing view of Mykonos Town. Street noise cannot be heard at night with the windows closed, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. Perfect for a nights sleep after a day at the beach! Breakfast every morning was delicious and fresh, with a variety of fruits, breads, eggs, etc and of course greek yogurt.

Mykonos Town is only a five minute walk down the hill from the hotel.

A few tips for Mykonos:

1. Rent a quad at Rizos Bikes, which is a one minute walk down the hill from the hotel. Explore the entire island and visit the variety of beaches it has to offer. You will be amazed.
2. Eat dinner at Kounelas Fish Tavern. Amazing fresh seafood and very reasonable prices.
3. Have a sunset drink at Jackie O’s along the water in Mykonos Town.
4. Spend an afternoon relaxing at Kalafatis Beach. There is a great waterfront restaurant at the end of the beach with a gorgeous view of the entire bay.

Mykonos Town has a lot of hotel choices, but the BEST choice is Hermes!

Most European and especially island hotels tend to be cramped and outdated. They are completely remodeled and very very clean. Good service(great by Greek standards, ie SLOW), great daily breakfast, and the entire staff other than the owner was very friendly. He doesn't seem to be a people person. The views from every room and escecially the pool were amazing. The wifi is horrible if you have work to do, good luck, there is not a strong signal on the property or consistantly regardless of where you camp out. The tvs have very limited english channels if you are a late night tv person like i am.
If renting scooters do not use "georges" as suggested by the hotel. He has high prices and was so difficult with the people before us that we left out of disgust. We all used Rizzos just below the hotel. Nice, friendly, and easy to deal with. I am big on getting service with a smile.

Room Tip: Room 302 was great, 308 was just ok

This is the hotel I dreamed about when thinking on going to the Greek Islands (or anywhere else !!!). It is fabulous, very nice people, attentive service, wonderful views from your own room (if you reserved one with sea-view, of course). I have to recognize that this hotel made the difference for my trip. The service included pick up at arrival and departure (very good service, it was so relaxing to arrive, find the Hermes sign, identify yourself and be greated as if you were an old friend, and yes, as mentioned in other review, they will say good-bye and waive their hands when leaving the hotel :o) .) The rooms are all modern and white, as the whole hotel, very charming and with that upscale flavor that makes you (or at least me) feel very relaxed. Outstanding and friendly info at the desk. I loved their comments and suggestions on where to go and what to do (and the best way for both). The hotel is located up on the hill but there are shortcuts (just follow the indications in the map :) and you will be in Mykonos town in 10-15 min, of course it is easier to go down-hill. Because of excessive walking during my island hoping I had problems with my ankle but still didn't have any issue climbing back from town to the hotel (I did it at very slow pace and it took me 15 min). If you don't want to climb the way back (or not used to do so) you can take a taxi and the cost is ca.3-4 euros. What else? breakfast =5 stars quality. I didn't manage to try the drinks at the bar, next time by sure I will :p . Summarizing: I highly recommend this hotel, I read so many reviews in so many webs every time I am going to make a reservation and sometimes you have to check and re-check. No worries with this hotel, it is just AMAZING! The only issue is that there was no restaurant inside the hotel but there is one in front (thai) and one 5-10 min uphill (greek, very popular with greek people and also has a delivery service). I was going to ask if the hotel offered quick sandwiches at the bar (since they have all ingredients for breakfast) but forgot.

Room Tip: ask for a sea-view room, you will not regret it!

We were very impressed with the service from Margarita and the staff.
Breakfast was delicious and had enough choice.
Views are amazing, almost all rooms are sea view.
Clean and modern bathrooms nicely renovated.
Marble everywhere, whole hotel very well maintained.
Free shuttle to airport/ferries

If you can't stand noise it might not be for you (near the road) but anything close to downtown is noisy anyway. Also, the walk down and back up can be a bit of an exercise. We liked losing calories but it might not be for everyone.

It is rare, but every now and then someone exceeds your expectations. The owners and staff of Hermes Hotel did precisely that. Not just on day one like some hotels but for seven straight days. We were picked up at the ferry in a spotless Mercedes van and driven to the hotel where we were offered a couple of room choices (the benefit of traveling just before peak season). The room was very pleasant, spotless and an unforgettable view. Very very comfortable beds, nice linens, topped off with a down comforter. For about a $100 euro per night there is no reason to spend more money nor comb through countless reviews in search of something better. Just book it now, it will not be a decision you regret. I promise. This hotel should be #1 on trip advisor!

This hotel sits on a hill with amazing views of some of the most beautiful sunsets on earth. With the view comes a price. If you walk to town, you will have to walk back up the hill. I am a healthy adult so this was not an issue. Honestly, if so many people had not commented on it, I would not have taken notice. The walk up the hill is not bad unless you are elderly or very out of shape. If that is the case I recommend renting a car, scooter or 4-Wheeler and driving to town.

The owners are great ambassadors of the Greek people and culture. Warm, caring and eager to ensure your experience of Mykonos is not one soon forgot. With that said, they will respect your privacy and not force an agenda upon you. I recommend spending 10 min getting to know Margarita. She is a wealth of information and will offer places to eat, visit, scooter connections etc... When the time comes to depart the island it will be like saying goodbye to a dear friend or family member.

The hotel is beautiful, newly renovated, breakfast is hearty and wonderful. The pool is refreshing, balcony relaxing and great drinks. Day one, get a scooter (15euro) tour the island. Day two go to Platis Gialos, relax on the beach in front of Atlantida, get drinks and eat dinner at this restaurant. Best food and value on the island! In 16 days in Greece they were the only restaurant that did not charge for bread. They provide free dessert and Carmel vodka as a night cap (all on the house). Mykonos town near the windmills is a great place to watch the sunset. Eat at Nikos Cafe and keep a watchful eye out for the island mascot, Petros the pelican.

I honestly could write another 1000 words and only scratch the surface of how wonderful this hotel and the owners are! Returning to Mykonos will be easy because I already know where I will be staying!

We stayed at Hermes for 3 nights with our 5 year old daughter. The hotel is located on top of the hill (10 min walk) above the restaurants and nightlife of the seaside village, Mykonos Town.
We were wonderfully surprised by the standard of this hotel! The rooms have recently been refurbished, they are very roomy and clean, and have wonderful views of the sea. The plush bedding encouraged a comfortable night’s sleep.
Margarita, the manager was extremely helpful and accommodating. The (comfortable) extra bed for our daughter was complimentary and was already made up before our arrival.
Breakfast was delicious! Fresh, quality ingredients were used in the Greek style buffet. Transfers from the hotel and to the ferry port were also complimentary and problem free.
The only fault we had was there's no tea/coffee facilities in the room and sometimes it's nice to relax with a 'cuppa' alone (though there is a bar that where you can get hot & cold beverages.)
It took us a while to finally get through to book via emails and we ended up having to call in our booking. The hotel is great value for money and well worth the perseverance!

Room Tip: Ask for a seaside view, lovely!

We have just returned from a great 7 night stay at the Hermes. Spotlessly clean, friendly staff. We even had the pool to ourselves at times. The view of the sunset from the hotel is just breathtaking. But remember the view comes at a price, it is on the hill so be prepared for a bit of an uphill walk last thing at night! There are taxis in the town too. All in all, a superb small hotel to which we will return.
