“Wedding Night Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012

Located just a hop-and-a-skip from the the center of Mykonos town, and the best restaurant around, APPALOOSA, the Carbonaki hotel was the best choice for our wedding.

We were married in November, when almost every hotel in Mykonos (with very few exceptions) had just shut down after the summer season. We had the island to ourselves and were able to accommodate all the guests at that one hotel.

We had first-class service at a very good off-season rate.

We had a great room with a huge balcony and a nice view over the rooftops to the sea.

The hotel is done in a classic quaint Mykonian style. All white and a bit of a maze (complete with secret shortcuts), like the city itself, it might take a while before you can remember how to get to your room.

Most taxis won't drive down the narrow steep road to the hotel (especially during the busy season), so while it's a short easy walk going to the hotel, it's a drag walking uphill to the main road when you're leaving, especially if you have a lot of luggage.

Though centrally located, it is surprisingly quiet at night.

This place is idea for couples.

Room Tip: Get an upper-level room with a view of the sea. You'll have to climb a lot of steps, but it'...

Great location however a little walk from where the taxi drops you so be prepared for the fact that the front door of this hotel and many others are not accessible by car. Very clean, comfortable and lovely atmosphere. Good size room with desk, day bed and balcony overlooking the jacuzzi (room 124). If we return to Mykonos we will stay here again. Only challenges we had was the wifi instability (but this seems standard here and you can catch up also in any restaurant as they all have wifi, just ask for their password) and that there wasn't a safe in the room so we had to put items in and out of our safe at reception during our stay.

Really nice staff.

Clean and modern, this hotel is centrally located, with attractive suite, motel style, opening onto a winding path through the property. The hotel looks like the white, cave-like structure that Luke Skywalker dwelled in Star Wars. There's a jacuzzi which wasn't operating while we were there and lovely places to sit and rest outdoors. Although the hotel picked us up at the dock, we had to make our way back to our own-a small issue, but a bit inconvenient.

A very pleasant and quiet hotel which is right in the heart of Mykonos town. Suitable for those who want to explore the city and beaches during the day. Very quiet by night- just the right distance from the night clubs as well.

I would reccomend this hotel to those people who want to party hard all night- and sleep all day. You have the best of both worlds at this hotel.

The staff are accomodating and incredibly helpful. We loved them and on our next visit we will be sure to stay here.

From Anna and group xoxo

Just returned after my 9th time in Mykonos! I was a bit nervous about the hotel because there were not that many reviews on tripadvisor. As soon as I arrived and saw the location I WAS NOT DISSAPOINTED!!! First of all the hotel is very clean, simple, comfortable and looks like a typical Cycladic house. It is quite a walk from the main street where the taxi drops you off but it's worth every penny!!! The location is amazing, just a short walk to Matoyanni street and a short walk to all the action in the Chora. The staff are very helpful with your every need and very accomodating. PANOS ROCKS as he did not complain at all especially since me and my husband wanted the iron every single night!!!! There is no breakfast in the hotel but not to worry, plenty of places within walking distance to the hotel which make for a beautiful breakfast (or early lunch because you will not be waking up that early). Mykonos is THE PARTY place to be so ENJOY!!!! Can't wait to return back to Carbonaki next year!!!!!

Room Tip: even though the Chora is a busy place, the hotel is very quiet and you are guaranteed a good night...

My niece and I just returned from a one week trip to Greece. We stayed one night at the Hotel Carbonaki and enjoyed or stay there. The room was very clean, with a comfortable bed, and the hotel is convenient to shopping and the waterfront. They went out of their way to send the camera that I accidentally left behind to me at the hotel we were staying at in Athens. You rarely get that kind of service anymore. There is a little walk to the hotel from the area where the taxi drops you off as cars are inaccessible to the door of the hotel- so that is one thing that should be considered if the guest has any physical disabilities or is unable to walk for a distance with their luggage. Great jacuzzi and courtyard. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Very very nice little boutique hotel. The jacuzzi in the courtyard is definitively a must. The owners did everything they could to help us, including call other hotels for us to extend our stay as Carbonaki was full, call a taxi, lend us beach towels
The rooms are not very big but are sparkling clean, and brand new.
The only little annoying thing is that the Wifi is not very stable and keeps on switching on/off...
But we were not in Mykonos to spend our day on the Web either....
