“Lovely hotel”
Reviewed July 21, 2009

The hotel is beautiful, and highly recommended. It was just updated, and we were the first guest for 2009. We had an ocean facing view, but from what I heard all their rooms are ocean facing so you wont get stuck with the bad view. We went during the start of the good season and were given an upgrade to a suite. The room was beautiful. The hotel is clean, and has a beautiful pool. When we went there were only probably about 10 people staying at the hotel but yet the staff lit up the entire pool with candels etc when in the evning similar to what they would do at peak time. The hotel is about 10-15mintue walk along the ocean to restaurants/shopping.
The staff was helpful and courtius. We had our flight cancelled and they had us picked up and gave us our room back for the time they could that day.

Kouros sits up on a hill overlooking the ocean and a lot of construction of what will be an attractive yacht basin in two years. However, between now and two years, the view is cranes and construction equipment with Mykonos village in the background.
The rooms are very large and very nice, all with balconies overlooking the ocean. The property is completely updated and will be a gem once the construction is complete. The breakfast is served on the pool deck and is very good. The hotel is high end in every way and the staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is about a ten minute walk downhill to Mykonos village, unfortunately it is uphill on the way back. I would recommend as long as one recognizes that when on Mykonos you don't sit in your room looking out, rather you are shopping, eating and sun bathing at some of the spectacular beaches. ATV and car rental is a 3 minute walk from the hotel. The best way around the island is ATV rental; inexpensive at 20 euros per day for a powerful ATV.

I have just come back from a week's stay at the Kouros Hotel. From the moment we were warmly greeted at the airport (simply email or phone the hotel to let them know whether and when you would like the complimentary pick-up service) we have been treated to excellent Greek hospitality, friendliness and service.

Our room was very spacious (room 44), elegantly decorated, efficiently air-conditioned and clean: we had a large terrace that overlooked the sea, which was simply wonderful. Twice daily- maid service and turn -down service is there is you want it. We had a jacuzzi bath but no walk- in shower, so if this is important to you make a request when booking.

We also discovered (after a couple of very lively, crowded sessions in Little Venice at Mykonos Town) that the Kouros hotel bar is the best place to watch the famed sunsets - and the bar staff made us the best cocktails we had on the whole island.

As other reviewers have noted, the buffet breakfast is extensive and we enjoyed the poolside open air dining for lunch and supper. At night, the area round the pool is lit by myriad night-lights and candles, which adds to the atmosphere.

The hotel is on a cliff so you get amazing views but close enough to the town (about a 10 minute walk on either the upper or lower roads) and port(s). There's lots of spacious parking, at the hotel too (it's not always easy to find parking around the town and if you do find a space, it's is often very tight).

For culture, we took the boat to Delos (at the old port), which is well worth a day trip but can get pretty crowded (as can Mykonos Town itself) especially when a number of large cruise boats call into port.

If you are thinking of going to the Kouros, check out the hotels' s informative website and especially the site blog: there are regular news updates and (accurate) pictures of the sunsets and the new pool area, which is lovely.

We were very sorry to leave Mykonos - and the Kouros.

Kouros Hotel and Suites overlooks the bay just north of Mykonos Town – Chora, which is about a 10 minute walk along one of two roads. We always took the two lane lower road into town, which runs along the water and is accessible from the hotel’s parking lot, because it was wider and therefore seemed safer. The hotel has a spacious modern lobby and a beautiful pool area, where you will also find the restaurant and bar. We had only one dinner there, but the food and service were excellent. Breakfast was very good as well, with a wide variety of choices, and is served in an attractive room overlooking the bay. Our superior room was a spacious suite, with two twin beds in one room and a single large bed in the other. The bath was modern and fairly large. Our balcony had a partial water view, and was very private and quiet. The entire staff was helpful and friendly. The transfers to and from the hotel were handled efficiently; upon arrival we were met on time at the airport, and were driven to the ferry terminal for our departure.

I think we got upgraded to a suite and it was beautiful. Large, comfortable bed, two balconies, Jacuzzi tub AND shower. Everything about this place was wonderful--the service, value, pool, breakfast. We were disappointed with the next two hotels we stayed at after this one. We would go back in a heartbeat

Look no further. The Kouros Hotel & Suites is a fabulous, family-owned hotel. I can see why all of the other reviews are so wonderful. If your idea of a trip to the Greek Isles is waking up to a breathtaking view of the Aegean Sea and the beautiful white buildings with blue trim, look no further, this is it! Because the Kouros is built into a cliff, the view is magnificent. It is a short walk to town (10 minutes or so). If you want to be by the sea, a hotel in town will not cut it. The short walk to town is worth it. It is really a plesant little walk when you take the high road. The low road has more traffic. There is a new marina being planned near the Kouros, and construction is occurring on the low road. But please do not let the construction deter you from staying here. It is hardly noticable.

The Kouros recently underwent a complete renovation of the swimming pool and restaurant areas; the result is great. New bathtubs have also been installed. The food in the restaurant is very good. The restaurant is not open to the public, so dining is exclusive. All dining is outside, except for breakfast. The breakfasts (included in the room rate) are magnificent. There is definitely something for everyone, regardless of the diet you may be on....but don't diet here, you are on holiday!

The staff, headed by Elina (she's the best), is warm, caring and attentive to your every need. The public areas are well very clean and well kept, and there is free (Apple) internet access in the lobby. The guest rooms are immaculate and impeccably appointed. We were in their largest suite; it was to die for. Two balconies, and that view!!! The bathroom and shower ares were great. A complimentary bottle of wine and a fruit tray awaited us on our arrival...a nice touch.

The airport is a short cab ride away, and the Kouros provides free transfers from the airort to the hotel and back to the airport, even though you will not want to ever depart. We stayed for only four nights. This was not nearly enough time to explore the island's charm and all its beaches (you must go to Super Paradise Beach). We will be returning next year for at least a one week's stay!

Traveled for the first time to Greece. When we arrived in Mykonos, we were quickly picked up by a transfer (arranged through travel agent) and they took us to Kouros Hotel. The drive from the airport was approximately 20 minutes if that. The location of the hotel is very convenient. Walking distance to the main town (10 minute walk) If you like to explore, I highly recommend renting an ATV to get around the entire island. And, they are much safer to drive. The hotel was amazing in all of our requests and they will call the rental company for you. The service when we were there was truly "out of their way" great service. Breakfast was the best we had on our trip so don't forget that! Overall, we would highly recommend this hotel. Good location, Beautiful setting and wonderful customer service. Thank you for a great vacation to all of your staff!!!!
