“Great Stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 8, 2011

Excellent service with super friendly staff. Me and my two other friends were picked up at the port (a complimentary service from the hotel) with a nice Mercedez SUV. The staff greeted with friendly and welcoming manner. They provided us with a lot of information about restaurants (good ones), places to go, renting a car in the island. They were also very helpful.

The ambiance in the lobby area was very relaxing with a touch of modern design. We were staying in one of the suites, and we received a welcoming platter of fruits with a bottle of white wine. The view from anywhere in the hotel was breathtaking, especially from our balcony.

The surrounding neighborhood was very serene (and safe to walk to and from during the night). The pool area was also very nice with a great view (this is also where they serve breakfast - with great choice of breakfast food). The location of this hotel was a 10-minute walk from the center of the city, but the walk from the hotel can be very relaxing, except that the road was a little narrow and we had to be careful with automobile coming from both directions. But overall, our stay here was excellent. I'd definitely comeback to this hotel when I visit Mykonos again.

We were really impressed with this hotel. My husband commented he thought it looked better in person than it does in Trip Advisor pictures. The room was really clean, and it was huge. We liked the staff (they were very helpful). Overall we had a great experience, and the price was perfect. The only thing that was just OK was the food (the free breakfast in the morning was sufficient but definitely wasn't the best). We went to Santorini after Myknonos and we spent way more money on a hotel there and it wasn't even close to being as nice as Kouros.

It's just a short walk from town (take the low road that's down the stairs from the pool...not the high road...it's a much safer/nicer walk).

Room Tip: We had the least expensive room...it was great!

We spent 6 days at Kouros Hotel and not one minute we were disappointed. We booked a suite with Jaccuzzi : not only the private balcony with jaccuzzi had an incredible view on the Sea, but the room was perfect. Gorgeous decoration, the design was simple, elegant, beautiful.
The food at the restaurant is simply amazing. We couldn't resist the Santorini's tomatoes or the Carbonara spaghetti à la Greek : pure delish!
The staff working at the hotel is great. Perfect service. Very nice and smiley, which we appreciated very much.
The location of the hotel is great : 5minutes drive from the port (if you get there by boat) and we can easily walk to Mykonos village walking (5-10mns).
We were delighted by this trip, we loved Greece and Kouros Hotel made us feel special. Thank you!

This hotel is my favorite - been there 8 times since 2001 but not visited since May 2007 and wow - what changes have been made - Greece is in a recession and the Hotel through no fault of it's own was troubled by noise from the new marina being contructed between the 2 ports - the work seems to be almost over but was at a standstill during our 9 night visit. Can someone tell me how you get a car into the new marina car park?
We stayed in Room 36 - Deluxe Suite with a private jacuzzi on the terrace. Wonderful view of Delos, the town and both the Ports - great for watching cruise ships and ferries and looking out for those nasty Easyjet flights that bring you back to the UK!
More drawer style storage space could have been provided - at a cost to the minamilist look
The hotel is in one of the best locations in Mykonos as you can walk to Town and the surronding area is quiet - cruise ships are nice to watch and are not noisy and there are less than 8 daytime flights in and out of the airport on most days - and FUN to see. The walk into Town is a judgement - narrow back road downhill (uphill on way back) but you will see and hear approaching bikes, quads and cars so you can stand in. Lower flat road - buser and 2 way. 5 mins from Hotel to safe new Port area with 'pavements'.
All rooms have a terrace or a balcony - most are private as in exclusive acess and no-one walks through it to get to their room but some are private and inclusive/not over-looked. This was the case for Room 36 which enabled us to make the most of the Jacuzzi on the balcony!
Wi-Fi acess was fast and I had a good signal to my netbook - did not try to connect a phone. Great service.
Breakfast was consistantly good - rotating dishes except for the cake which was the same for 9 days - my mother would complain if she visits next year!!
The hotel has great views - see photos, a pool, a gym, TV and DVD in rooms and a Spa. What else would you want - bingo?????
The hotel is on the edge of Mykonos Town and is QUIET. No road noise at night and no noise from other people getting home from the bars....we walked back to the hotel on 28th May and left the drunken yells of students at the Remezzo Bar far behind.
Perfect for me.....

Rm 32 was quiet and very good size. [We booked a Deluxe Double Room and were supposedly upgraded to a 'suite', although it didn't meet my definition of a suite!]
However:
1. The room had very little hanging/storage space for clothes and 'nick-nacks';
2. The 'private' balcony was not at all private as it faced on to some steps down to the pool/restaurant and people walking by could easily see us (and into our room) from 2 different aspects;
3. The jacuzzi wasn't working (until we reported it), the air con didn't work at all (but we didn't have much need to use it); and the wi-fi didn't work (and, when queried, was told it was to do with the settings on my i-Pod touch!) - [See other reviews!]
4. Staff were 'generally' friendly and helpful but, in addition to not being impressed with being told that the reason for the wi-fi not working was down to my i-Pod settings, we were not impressed when we asked for the [Nespresso] coffee capsules (which they provided TWO of for the first day!) to be replaced and were told that there would be a charge for them! [They did subsequently agree to replace them free of charge but, by then, our impression of the hotel had already plummeted (plus we had already gone out and bought some coffee of our own). We also asked for a kettle to be provided (as there wasn't one in the room) and the kafuffle this entailed was unbelievable! And then we found that the kettle didn't function properly!
5. The breakfast was 'OK' but not very imaginitative.
6. We ate in the 'main' restaurant (for dinner) just once, on our first evening. We both found the food nothing special but overpriced. We were given a 'free' drink on our first evening too (which was really the only reason we decided to eat at the restaurant), but then we found we had been charged for bread which we didn't order and a dip we didn't have!
7. In spite of the address stated as being "Tagoo Beach", there is no beach. What you have in front of the hotel is a busy, dangerous road (which leads down to Mykonos Town), and a partially-completed Marina (... and then the Aegean Sea). Thankfully, no works were taking place on the Marina while we were there but when the work recomences it will be noisy.
8. The hotel is about a mile or so from Mykonos Town. You walk down the narrow road (with no sidewalk), with traffic coming - at some speed - in both directions. Coming back to the hotel is uphill all the way. Then there's a very steep slope and steps in order to get back to your room. We'd never been so fit!
9. The hotel's ambience is very nice/modern/trendy and we found it quite relaxing. However, there's not much to do in the hotel and, although we went there to relax, we started to get bored.
10. Also, if you hate noise, be aware that, in addition to the noise from the traffic, the hotel is situated between TWO ports. The bigger boats make a lot of noise when leaving the ports. The hotel is also not a million miles from the island's airport and planes fly directly overhead 3 or 4 times a day.
11. Mykonos Town is lovely. Quaint little streets and a great choice of restaurants and bars.

All-in-all, we enjoyed our time in Mykonos, but we thought the hotel, although 'nice' was NOT a 5-star and is very over-priced for what it is. It seems to have pretentions to be something it is not, but you're paying for it! We wouldn't go back to Mykonos or to the Kouros. I'm not saying I wouldn't recommend the Kouros... but it would have to be with some reservation.
