“Should not be qualified to be a 5 star resort”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2012

This July, we stayed here for the 4th time. Our main reason to pick this resort is the quiet and special location, out of Mykonos town with a great view of the bay and Delos Island.
Positive: great and very friendly staff at the restaurant, nice breakfast, good views from the room. Negative: the rooms are furnished in an oldfashioned Greek style, it feels like Mykonos 15 years ago. Junior suites differ only in size from normal rooms, beds are hard and not comfy at all, plastic curtains in the shower, TV is 20 years old. We had twice no water to shower, several (too many) times the water was just cold. Wifi works sometimes, but signal is weak at times.
Wont consider to go back again.

Great hospitality and friendly environment! Relaxing scenery with great service and beautiful sea views. The personnel were anticipating our needs and exceeded our expectations! Definitely, is one of the best places to stay, if you are visiting Mykonos!

We stayed at Apollonia Resort hotel for a week and it was absolutely wonderful experience.
It is a small composed hotel located in a peaceful area of Mykonos, Ayios Ioannis, where one can truly relax since everything around the hotel is calm. The pool area is very quiet and the service great.
Our room was very comfortable and spacious with lots of facilities, the large veranda has the most amazing and romantic view. The room and the hotel was very clean, the staff was very friendly, polite and helpful.
The breakfast buffet is very rich and in the restaurant you can enjoy a variety of Mediterranean dishes with marvelous tastes. The deserts are absolute incredible but the best of all is the chocolate mousse, you will never forget this flavor!!!!
The bus route is very convenient since the bus stop is outside the hotel.
We will definitely visiting again this hotel.

Great early June get away from the rain and wind in the UK. The Apollonia has nice simple rooms, ours had a bath which was nice. Small outside terrace. Great view of the sea. Good bed. Aircon and insect repeller (did not need the latter). Good breakfast. Very friendly staff serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Good gym. Every part of the hotel was spotlessly clean.
We liked being away from Mykonos town. We’d spend days either at the pool or at Ag Ioannis bay beach and go out in Mykonos town of an evening (bus there 1.6 Euro, taxi back 10 Euro). The hotel drinks are quite expensive (as in all of Mykonos) but well mixed (better mixed than in many bars in town).

Ag Ioannis has 3 tavernas – Hippy Fish (of Shirley Valentine fame) is actually the best – best view, location on the beach, best for food and service. Families may prefer the Pizza place nearer the hotel, but we didn’t really rate it. The other beach restaurant got a thumbs down for the food, but we did use their beach beds.
Just around the corner of the church (10 min walk down the uncovered road) is a great isolated beach – no facilities, so take your supplies. You can see the sun set into the sea from there.

From Ornos (5 mins on bus) you can get boats to all the main beaches – of which we liked Elia the best.

Room Tip: Ask for one with a view.

Just return back home from an amazing relaxing vacation at Apollonia Resort in Mykonos. The hotel is located at Ayios Ioannis a very peaceful area, beautiful scenery and a fantastic view were one can enjoy the sunrise and sunset. Both my girlfriend and I, could not get over the friendly nest and kindness of the staff. The food that they server at all times is of high quality and amazing taste. One of the best hotels that we have stayed, we will defiantly return back fro more holidays. Great times and great moments. Once again thank you so much.

Room Tip: Rooms that overlook the sea

This has to be the most romantic hotel in Agios Ioannis, as well as being in a great position for the beach. In the evening the hotel is lit by a myriad of candles, giving a wonderful atmosphere. The grounds are immaculately kept and scented by jasmine. The pool is also kept immaculately and has great views. The staff are helpful and the housekeeping staff are particularly good, everywhere is kept beautifully clean. The transfer to and from the hotel was prompt and efficient. The gym is good and has an allocated staff member to give help and advice and has a sauna attached to it. Breakfast is excellent with an amazing choice of fresh food and is taken either on the balcony with views of the pool and sea, or the pretty terrace garden with sea views and olive trees. Our room, one of the 'white' ones, had a hammock swing and built in day bed on the terrace, with amazing views of the bay, harbour and church. Linen and towels are both of excellent quality. Unfortunately however, the lights on the balcony don't work and the bowls with candles that are provided instead aren't suitable for sitting outside and reading after dark. I also suggest that ladies take their own hairdryer as mine didn't work and it took three days to get a replacement. Despite the above niggles this is still a lovely, relaxing, romantic hotel.

Room Tip: Make sure you get one of the renovated rooms. The white rooms are lovely, but up a steep hill and o...
