Although it's a walk downhill into town on busy roads, the hotel is actually not too far from the center of town. Renting a car is a nice way to explore the island's various beaches and tavernas, a nice alternative to the morning and afternoon crowds that offload from the cruise ships into Mykonos town. We upgraded to a sea view room with a private terrace overlooking the bay, and enjoyed the accommodating staff and good breakfasts.

This hotel probably has one of the best views on the island and the restaurant is excellent. Quiet (at least in the off season) it has a parking lot so easy to park if you rent a car. the staff was very helpful although we had some challenges with one employee who was trying to be really helpful but kept nodding in our conversations but then it was clear that they did not understand us.

like other comments-it is a 'hike' to the downtown area-all down hill into town and all up to get back! still we prefer the walk and the quiet...if you are big on the staying out late downtown-pick something closer.

This hotel is situated on top of the hill with a clear view of the water and surrounding countryside. All rooms have either a terrace or balcony and can be described as quaint.
The bathrooms are large with a spa bath and the staff are very attentive.
Breakfast is great and the staff on hand will make anything you want.
The pool is very beautiful and overlooks the amazing Agean!
It is too far to walk into town so AWD are recommended.

Room Tip: Better views are attainable it you have the second floor rooms.

Nothing really to add that hasnt already been said about the wonderful staff, views and good breakfast. The only downside was the walk into town for the nightlife however we came across a really lovely restaurant about half way ( next to hotel Carob)which had superb views of the sunset and good food at a reasonable price where we went if we couldnt face the walk after being out all day. There is no getting away from the fact that Mykanos town is lovely but very expensive and I would not recommend going in peak season as it was busy enough when the cruise ships were in port! Enjoyed the trips to Delos, Tinos and the jeep safari is a good way to see the island if you dont want to hire a car or forget your licences like we did! We used the local buses daily to go to the beaches and particularly liked Pliatos Gialos as it was a reasonable price for the sunloungers which were quite spaced out if you use the blue ones in front of the supermarket, where you could buy cheaper beer and cans of G n T !!

Room Tip: room 321 has a spa bath and view over the town and sea but no sun on the balcony and looks over the...

My husband and recently enjoyed a wonderful 3-night stay at the Tharroe Mykonos Hotel. The hotel's setting is breathtaking, and the service was wonderful. We expecially loved Niko - he seemed to be there all the time! The hotel is within walking distance of the main town, Chora, but we did take a taxi back at night because the road was a little too narrow. The taxi from the town costs about 5 euro.

I highly recommend this lovely, intimate hotel!

We stayed at this hotel for part of our honeymoon. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel extremely welcome. All the staff are attentive and the rooms are spacious and airy with fantastic views of the sea. The hotel is peaceful and relaxing, we didn't want to leave. We will definitely be going back next year. And the year after that and after that etc etc. Don't believe any of the bad reviews
on this website! You should stay at
this hotel... You won't be disappointed!

Traveling in a group of three, when we arrived at the Tharroe, we were greeted warmly by Christine, their consierge. She had us sit at her reception desk to fill out paperwork and to answer questions about rooms, meals, local sights, and more while our luggage was being delivered to our rooms. The room I shared with my partner was awe-inspiring. We had a "honeymoon suite" which featured a front room with couch, chairs, table, refrigerator and television, a bedroom with expected furniture plus television, and a huge bathroom (the largest we had seen on our visits to Crete, Santorini, and Athens), with both a shower and whirpool bath! Very elegant!

The Tharroe is located outside of town of Mykonos and is on a hill where poolside, one's vantage point overlooks the town. Travel to the city was downhill and relatively easy on foot, but we were advised (rightfully) to consider taking a taxi back up to the hotel, as the climb is a bit strenuous (taxi costing about 5 euro).

Staff at Tharroe were friendly, professional, yet quickly became family on our stay. One night, after coming back to the hotel after a night out shopping and eating, the three of us sat poolside with some drinks, playing a dice game called Farkle, which we packed in the states to travel with. The two dining room employees, George and Nicos, were fascinated with the game, and, after asking a few questions of direction, played along with us! Nicos especially enjoyed it and would often take more than one turn! It was refreshing to see two such hard workers--who we saw day and night at the hotel--relax momentarily and enjoy themselves! In fact, they had so much excitement with Farkle that we gave it to them to keep and remember us by.

Our hotel package came with continental breakfast which also included an omlette station. The array of food also included traditional Greek offerings, such as yogurt, tomato, a variety of meats, cakes, and of course, feta and other cheeses. We also ate supper here one of the nights, and had delicious entrees of their menu along with a spectacular sunset with many pictures snapped!

As one can see, our excursion to Mykonos was complemented by the Tharroe. We had very little to criticize or see room for improvement. However, there were two items that could possibly be made better.

First, when hotel guests leave the property, they must hand in their room key to the front desk before they leave, and retrieve it from the front desk upon their return. This was the only property of the four we stayed at in Greece that had us do this. I am assuming it was for security concerns as well as an alert for staff to know when the room was available for cleaning. . .?

Secondly, two of us signed up for their "wine tasting" event, held nightly in their restaurant. The event seemed to be misnamed as well as not explained fully on their poster. Basically, the two of us were able to choose a bottle of wine from their bar area, and we were given some light appetizers to complement the wine. We were anticipating an array of wines that would be available to taste and to learn of their manufacturing.

Did these two criticisms, overall, hurt our perception of the hotel? Absolutely not! We would highly recommend it to you! Enjoy your travels and your stay!
