Description: Newly born Greek Eatery in downtown Mykonos, Bakaló is a casual chic diner with retro decorative touches reminiscent of a Greek bistro of a bygone era but with modern flair. Its menu is a tribute to traditional Greek home cooking and is prepared using only fresh local ingredients; its friendly service and prices make it ideal for alfresco dining and people watching.

Tucked away on Lakka square. On the higher end price wise but worth paying for a quality meal.

Handsome friendly and helpful staff.

Waiter compared my moussaka recipe with theirs and I'm not too far off the mark so it looks like I will have to keep practicing until next year.

We are at Bakalo based on previous tripadvisor reviews and are very glad we tried it. It's tucked a little further away than other restaurants in Mykonos town but worth seeking out.

They recommend choosing dishes to share. We shared a plate of 5 dips with homemade bread: houmous, fish roe, baba ganoush, feta cheese and tzatziki which were all delicious. We shared a spinach, feta and filo pie and their beef stew on the waiter's recommendation and can honestly say it's the best food we've found in Mykonos. The house wine is very drinkable and the atmosphere is great, and it's a perfect spot for people watching during the evening. We had a free shot of their homemade rose and geranium liqueur with the bill (much better than ouzo or raki!).

The waiting staff were all very friendly and attentive. We'd highly recommend a visit to eat in this lovely place!

Excelent Food, cooked with care, culinary techniques, with fresh ingredients. We went more than once to eat the savory Turkey burguer with salad! The house wine is also good. The place is very charming and was not crowded since it is not close to the cruises area.

Although not the cheapest restaurant in Mykonos it should definitely be on your list of places to try. We had an amazing time here. The food was beautiful and the service faultless!!

The waiting staff were so engaging. They took the time to not only explain their menu but also chat generally and made you feel like you had become 'part of the family'.

For entree - the variety of spreads with bread (note they do charge extra for the bread but they were upfront about this when ordering). The Eggplant dip was to die for!

Mains - Chicken Souvlaki. The chicken was beautifully cooked matched with an amazing side salad of carrot and cucumber and a lovely dressing. The chips which were served to accompany were also very tasty.

The staff really need to be commended once again as they really made our night! Sitting on the front terrace with all the tables candle lit made for perfect atmosphere.

Don't miss this place off your list.
