I was really excited about going to Fato o Mano since the reviews were raving. We passed the restaurant several times during our stay and it was always busy, even though I did think it looked pretty average. On our last day we decided to give it a go. I kind of got a bad feeling when the staff were being quite pushy as soon as we approached the restaurant. The menu was listed in several different languages - again - bad sign. Still we decided to try it to see what the fuzz was about. We were seated outside (not sure if they have indoor seating). The pavement is not even so we sat quite uncomfortable. My husband was almost falling backwards on his chair. The tables were also very close together so we were touching elbows with the guests at the neighbor table.
The staff was very nice but I got confused as we had five or six different persons helping us. They all had different tasks such as the wine list, the menu, serving the food, serving the drinks..etc. Confusing!
The food is the most important aspect and even though there was nothing wrong with it, it was certainly not that special. The dessert took forever and when it arrived it was a complete disaster. As for the house wine it was typical greek house wine.
It was not a magical meal but the staff is very sweet and helpful, and the complimentary fruit platter was a nice touch. But too me this experience was just average and chaotic. Would probably not go back!
