“Good food in busy Square”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 24, 2014 via mobile

I had tzatziki and Moussaka both of which were good and the service was quick. The wine wasn't fantastic but it got better after the first glass!

It's a very popular restaurant and popular with tourists, with tables spilling onto a large square.

There's a separate dessert shop which looked great but unfortunately, I didn't have any space left!

“Good standard taverna fare”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 22, 2014

Niko's will not win any haute cuisine prizes, of that I am confident. However, if you want all of the standard island dishes cooked competently, very good fresh fish and taramasalata to die for in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere with decent service at a reasonable price then give it a go.

“Rip off”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 18, 2014

Quality of food was ok, but we had to pay 50€(!!) for a medium sized red snapper. The waiter just said: "yes, fresh fish is expensive"...
Don't go there!!

“Dessert Heaven”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 17, 2014

The restaurant is situated close to the old harbour area and is always busy with the tables spread out over part of the square. I guess you could say it it touristy but the food and service were good and similar with other medium priced Mykonos restaurants. This is also the place to see the famous Mykonos pelican which is in reality a huge and somewhat ugly bird but ever so friendly. It let me gently stroke its head.

The real star of the show is the patisserie alonside the taven which make desserts for the restaurant and also sells them in a little cafe inside. If I have learnt one thing it is the Greeks like cakes. Huge sticky Baklava's or creany custard filled croissants. We enjoyed all the desserts on offer. The guy is a real artist and makes the dessert as you watch. A joy to behold and a delight to eat. All for 4 EU - now that is a bargain here in Mykonos.

Niko's Tavern is definitely on the list of place to go while you are here.

“Yummy desserts”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 17, 2014

Alex, the pastry chef serves up the best desserts in town. Pair your dessert with a cup of greek coffee or cappuccino and you're set for the day. We visited this dessert joint by Niko's everyday during our stay in Mykonos.
