If you hadn't been told about Joanna Nikos place you may well miss this little gem of a traditional Greek taverna. It is tucked away on Megali Amos but easily acessible from Mykonos town by a short walk from Fabrika. It has a rustic feel and unlike a lot of restaurants in Mykonos it does not rely on style and glamour for its popularity. We took some friends who usually frequent the more fashionable eating places and they were absolutely won over by Joanna.Great food in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere is what draws a very loyal clientelle back time after time. The charming old building is cosy even in the roughest winds from the sea. You may be stuck for choice for food since there is a whole page of starters, most for around €5 or less. Properly cooked traditional greek food prepared by hard working ladies in the kitchen .The sort of Greek food you long for when you go home to your own country. The local wine, which we drank quite a lot of, was absolutely the best local wine I have ever tasted as was the chocolate crunch pudding. Prices are more like the old drachma days and very reasonable. Booking is recommended although if you are a small party they will try very hard to fit you in. Joanna, quite frankly, is brillant and mother to all of her customers. If you are not sure what to have, Joanna will definately know what you want. She is never wrong! You must go and try Joanna'sNikos place to experience it for yourself.
