“A 70th Birthday Celebration”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 22, 2014

We have recently returned from this Hotel having chosen it in order to celebrate a special birthday. We were not disappointed. The accommodation certainly met our expectations both from the space inside and amenities within our Villa, the comfort of the beds and the high standard of cleanliness. I could not have spent my 70th birthday in a more friendly place. All of the staff made me feel very special and their attention to detail was excellent. We booked on a B&B basis and the choice at breakfast was truly wonderful. The food in the restaurant was of an extremely high standard and served with the utmost politeness by the staff. For our entire stay the Customer Service was of an extremely high standard.

Room Tip: All of the Villas are of a similar standard I think. We had a 2 bedroom one

We stayed for a week at Easter, with our 8 year old daughter and 4 year old son. We chose the Majestic villa and what a great choice, a real home from home with everything you could need. One of the reasons we chose Royal Garden Villas and Spa was that the villas have their own pool and our some wouldn't go in swimming pools, we'll I can confirm that he went in the pool everyday and loved it.
We didn't hire a car and just got taxis when we wanted to go out and about and If you don't want to go out of your villa we can thoroughly recommend room service.
Maria was absolutely brilliant and all the staff were excellent.
We will be returning in October.

Room Tip: Majestic villa was great!

Dear Guests,
Thank You! I am so glad the children liked the pool and everything worked so well for you. Although we do recommend car hire if you wish to travel around the local taxi.s are really quite reasonable and plentiful too. We look forward to seeing you again on your next visit.
Kindest regards

It was a little difficult to find and there is no way to drive in you just stop on the road beside spa doors and that is reception, From there everything is taken care of with style.
We checked in around 12.30 and we very pleased our room was ready and we didn't have to wait till posted check in time of 3.00 . We were celebrating a special occasion and when we got to our villa( RUBI) it was decorated to help us celebrate. the welcome was wonderful. This was a corner suite so deck and pool was large than in some suites.
The kitchen was lovely with everything you would need although we didn't use much as we ate in the dinning room, There was also a washing machine in the kitchen which I don't think I had read about on their web page.
The very was of Adeje and the ocean in a distance, quite nice, and lots of lights at night, one evening we saw fireworks over the water from our deck , not sure what they were celebrating. everywhere in the suite and in common areas is so tastefully decorated I couldn't stop commenting on things. The bathroom was spacious and had a large shower that worked great. Things were very clean, The pool was very warm for the first week of april.
The dinning Room once again very nicely decorated and food and service were excellent.
Breakfast which was included was the best breakfast we had during our stay at about 10 hotel over a 17 day travel.
It was buffet however you could order anything else you wanted , ie omelette, toast.
The common area pool looked very inviting however its hard to leave you own private pool.
We were there for two nights wish it had been two weeks. it was a splurge to stay in a five star but in this case I think it was worth it.

Room Tip: corner suites larger deck/patio and pool

Dear Guests,
What a lovely detailed review, thank you for taking the time. I am so pleased we were able to accommodate you earlier than planned it does make a difference and gives the holiday a nice start. I think you will agree that when you DO come through the doors the experience begins !! We like to keep our secret safe from the 'outside world' hence the high walls and discreet exterior !! Hopefully the next time you will be able to stay longer with us and truly live the dream.

- For a similar (if not slightly cheaper) price than a 5 star resort the accommodation is far more spacious and sumptuous. Bespoke ethnic antiques are mixed with tasteful modern furniture and the soft furnishings are delightful. The villas are very roomy, bedrooms are large, beds are excellent, mattresses very comfortable, and there is an outside dipping pool and sitting/lounging areas outside with lovely views out to the ocean
- Usually the professional marketing photos do not reflect the actual state of the décor and furnishings; in this case, in spite of being 8 years old, the property has been maintained impeccably. The photos genuinely reflect what you get!
- A massive bonus to have a utility room with washing machine and dryer and a small kitchen area with microwave, hob and oven. There is enough there to cook a few meals to take a break from eating out all the time. Plenty of room in the refrigerator to do a proper shop at the supermarket at the start of the holiday and store fresh food/drinks
- Breakfast is excellent and plentiful – 8-11am means a relaxing morning. Spa is lovely, complimentary massages and other treatments were not overly expensive and well executed. Squash court, if you fancy it too.
- Staff are abundant, extremely helpful, courteous and happy
- Fantastic location on the island, away from the busy Playa las Americas, but only a short drive away if you fancy dinner there or at La Caleta, or anywhere else for that matter. Make sure you rent a car; there is a garage which you access with your room key on the lower road below the development.
- We would not hesitate to stay there again.
- Tiny quibbles – Internet is at a snail’s pace, low energy lights are the old fluorescent type that take a while to heat up to give light and are often on motion sensor switches which exacerbates the impact of that (LEDs are a much better low energy option these days which give more light and immediately)

From arrival, where the car was taken to the garage for us and the bags to the room it was lovely. Walking through the gate (which, incidentally, is on the left not the right ) and you are transported to a beautiful tropical resort. The receptionist was very pleasant and offered champagne whilst we completed the formalities. Shortly afterward we were in the appartment and my wife, who knew nothing of the trip was almost in tears, it was gorgeous. The staff are very attentive and always very pleasant. I look forward to our next stay in May for our wedding anniversary.

Thank you all at Royal Garden Villas

It has been said before about Tenerife that so many so called 5 Star hotels do not live up to their rating. This one does in so many ways. Lets get the practicalities out of the way. No this is not slap bang on the coast in amongst the hustle and bustle it is set 1km inland surrounded by the Adeje Golf Course on the die of a hill looking Eats towards the coast. It consists of only 28 Villas (not rooms) and as a result is a quiet and calm place. Because most of the villas have their own pool people tend to spend their time in their villas not around a pool bar (because there is not one) so this leads to even more clam. So if you are looking for a party holiday meeting loads of new friends then this is not for you!
If however you are looking for a clam relaxed getaway from it all peaceful and tranquil place to just enjoy your own company then this is it! Some reviews talk about the close proximity to the road but really this does not detract from the overall serenity of this place.
The owner is an interior designer who together with her husband own 3 hotels on the island. This one is her baby and it is obviously a labour of love with a strong Asian influence backed up by a duck fetish (wooden ones everywhere lol!). There are so many little extras just left in various places that at times you feel youare looking at a cultural centre.
Things have been thought through carefully in the rooms as well. All those small bits you really want ( hair-dryer close to mirror, evening turn-down service, laying out your breakfast not just dumping a tray in the bedroom, hooks in all the right places, sensible height tables for eating etc etc etc) add to that an eclectic mix of design and you have a sun soaked idyll.
We stayed in a Duchess villa which consisted of a large double bedroom, huge bathroom, kitchen area lounge area and a terrace with plunge pool. It is a very good sized apartment and perfect for 2 people to get away from it all. Well appointed and thought out with a really comfortable queen sized bed. We could not find fault.
The Spa is a well appointed Thalossotherpay pool and steam room. There is one therapist available for all the treatments but she gets booked up very quickly. The Gym is OK.
On the top level the communal pool is a small area with no bar as there are not enough guests to justify it. The restaurant is on the bottom level and has no windows but they decoration is lovely. There is a bar here but it was never open on our stay and as there are no views from it you are better in your own room. The restaurant food was delicious. I had the best suckling pig I have ever tasted. Breakfast is sumptuous and covers all your needs. Whist we were there it was Carnival time and the owner at 5 days notice put on a spectacular themed night which for €80 a head was a bargain. We also had a lovely set meal al fresco on the top level by the pool which normally happens on a Monday night with a little entertainment. Again for €45 inc wine this was lovely. They do have 2 good chefs there.
The staff service is exemplary and this is derived from the manager who is at breakfast most days to help. As a result of her relaxed air the staff are both efficient and conversational; which just makes for a great time. Its one of the best holidays I have had in a long time. Thank you RGV

Room Tip: The villas on the upper level are quieter than on the lower.

Goodness me this place is simply stunning, tranquil, exquisitely decorated, attention to detail in every way possible. The only thing we felt a little nervous about was the patio door and how easily unlocked it was by little hands. With a private pool we felt very nervous leaving the children unoccupied in the lounge area so perhaps a lock at the very top of the door would help here. Other than that we loved RGV and would highly reccommend.
