“Wonderful Winter Sun Experience”
Reviewed February 2, 2010

Our first visit to Tenerife and this Hotel. On arrival we were dealt with quickly by the Receptionists. As we had to go down in the lift to the second floor, we wondered what would await us as we opened the room door, but what a wonderful surprise - a junior suite overlooking the promenade and the beach and sea. It would have been nice to have had tea/coffee making facilities in the room and we felt the hire charge for a 'fridge of 4 Euros was a bit excessive. The lift to the ground floor and entrance on to the promenade took us about a minute which was very helpful and in the other direction, we were up at the pool in about the same time. We found the food good and varied, although some of the dishes were lukewarm at times. This was the only downside to the food. The entertainment was varied, but was suitable to most tastes, but unfortunately the seating was not good for anyone over 5ft as the backs were very low! The location of the Hotel was excellent and we loved being in Costa Adeje with only a short walk to Del Duque and La Caleta. Unfortunately our stay went all too quickly but we certainly hope to be back soon. All in all, a fantastic holiday and we can certainly recommend this Hotel.

On arrival staff appeared helpfull but reception staff spoke little english, we were directed to the only one lift to take us to the lower level which we found throughout our stay had a mind of its own and spent much of our time there.
The spacious room however was inkeeping with the rest of the hotel, very clean and well presented with Linen changed daily and cleaners very friendly indeed.
We had a good balcony view overlooking land and sea., very pleased indeed.
The dining area was very busy, crowded alot of the time with tables tightly packed to cope with the large number of guests.
There was quite a good choice of food available but got plenty of exercise searching for cups, saucers, teapots, teaspoons, various foods which were not being topped up adequately and most of all, fruit juice that wasnt overwatered down (powdered).
Most of the dining staff were very pleasent and talkative but the annoying draughts created by them rushing around past and inbetween tables was most annoying.

We found the evening entertainment to be dissapointing bearing in mind we payed alot of money out for a platinum holiday, we have experienced better acts at three star establishments. The comperes were dressed in jeans and teashirts, certainly not appropriate for the size and proffesionalism the hotel.
The entertainment in bars around the resort were much more proffesional.
The seating in the entertainment lounge must have been designed for a population no taller than 5 feet, my wifes 5 feet 6inches and found them uncomfortable, the back rests are far too low.
The rest of the seating areas however were fine, almost pleasurable in fact.

I think the cocktail bar was a nice touch with the solo pianist remeniscing tones of les dawson, brilliant.

The resort itself was very nice and clean as usual with plenty of taxis etc available.
Lots of bargains to be had if can put up with the high pressure touts plying there wares from dining out to leather goods, not to mention the usual timeshare and holiday club salespersons.

All in all we had a good holiday traveling around the island apart from the two days my wife was laid up with a so called 'bug going around' food poisoning where i come from.

Hey!!! Brilliant flights both ways...

ENJOY.

Stayed at this hotel in January, have stayed here before and it was excellent, but not as good now, rooms cleaned every day and hotel clean but ready for an update. Food just average, certainly not the 4 star platignum that Thomsons rate, more a 3 star. Food was much the same every day, carvery, steak and fish cooked for you, the rest was luke warm and overcooked. All in all ok for the £399 we paid, would have been annoyed if I had have paid the full brochure price.

we stayed at the guayarmina princess on approaching reception its impressive the receptionists hardly spoke any english. to hire a fridge it costs 4 euros a day which is expensive compared to other hotels we ve stayed in. we had a lovely sea view room. when we went to breakfast it was a nightmare we were shown to a table we got a juice drink each and went to get some breakfast then returned to our table to find the waiter had given it to someone else. this made me feel uncomfortable as the size of this hotel could not cope with the amount of guests. when i saw the pool i could nt believe my eyes the size was ridiculous for the amount of guests the hotel could accommadate just big enough for a little dip

Stayed here for 2 weeks, New Year was excellent and well organised. However to hire a fridge costs over 4 euros a day which we feel is excessive. Some rooms are below ground level and you do not have good views. Because it is a very large hotel breakfast at 9 to 930 was very chaotic with coffee machines frequently empty as well as no cups, saucers, tea pots etc always running out and then you had to search the large room for another coffee station that was full. When I complained to Maitre d he did not want to know. I feel the hotel cannot cope with big numbers all descending for breakfast at the same time it felt like being in BHS Cafeteria in England and not a 4 star hotel. This was a stressful start to the day However if you went down early or very late it was a bit better. There was still the problem of a very slippy area round the pool and some sun beds were very close together, we went to the beach some days but overall excellent holiday mostly very good staff and very good food and lots of variety. I think for a 4 star hotel in this prime spot you should expect to be served a pot of coffee or tea but it seems to be a cost cutting exercise to save on waiting staff. Ask for a high room if you want sea views I hope you enjoy it but I would not return to chase round a room for cups etc when we paid a lot of money for a restful holiday.

Visited this hotel for the first time. Was a little bit worried about reviews of the area, which is built up, but did not find it claustrophobic and enjoyed the beach and the promenade walk despite the touts.
The Guayarmina is a pleasant hotel without any real frills. Everything was adequate but there were none of the little touches that makes a hotel memorable. Would suggest sixth somethings like ourselves email and ask for a room on the higher floors. The lifts are a little annoying but well worth the wait given the views and the peace. The lower floors seemed dingy to us as we passed through.
The reception and service were adequate and the room and cleaning okay, while the entrtainment was variable and the drink prices on the high side. All in all we enjoyed our stay but have experienced a lot better.
