“Lovely hotel”
Reviewed November 2, 2013 via mobile

Have just returned from this hotel, hotel is in a great location and just 5mins walk from the beach, hotel has a great roof top terrace that has views for miles, from the moment we walked in the staff were there for us to help, we were greeted even by the maid on the stairs in the morning! Food was lovely and had a great selection from breakfast to dinner all fresh and always restocked,

Our room was cleaned and restocked every day, had a lovey sea view Which we asked for on booking

Would return and recommend and stay here.

Just got back from an 11 night stay at the Costa Sur and what a great hotel it is!!!!
I emailed them prior to our arrival asking for a pool view room and thats exactly what we got.
Check in was fast and friendly and we were shown to our room.
A lovely room on the second floor which was spacious and clean with the most comfortable beds i have ever come across in a hotel.
All the public areas were kept very clean by the army of cleaners who were busy from 7am until 7pm.
The majority of staff were great ,apart from a couple of the female bar staff who just chose not to smile even though we always tried to use our very limited spanish and the blonde haired lady on the dining room entrance who could only say "inside or outside?" and if you didnt answer her straight away just kept repeating herself, one night she said it three times as if we didnt understand what she meant! "Inside, outside, inside, outside, inside, outisde!!"
After that she never spoke to us and just raised four fingers to us indicating that we needed a table for four, anyway theres always one that lets the side down.
The food was pretty good,as long as you could get past Mrs Hitler on the door. There was always plenty of choice, although not always as hot as it could have been and the meat and fish dishes off the grill were always good.
Breakfast were also very good but the AI snack bar which consisted of hotdogs or burgers were pretty poor and i would recommend to the management to also include chips and a salad bar as well as a toasted sandwich maker would make things a lot better and take some pressure off the restaurant.
Service was good in all areas but the drinks were pretty weak to be honest, the beer was a bit tasteless, the spirits were weak and the wine wasnt up to much but for what we paid you couldnt really ask for more.
The pool area is a bit of a mad affair for the beds, the pool doesnt open until 10.00 then its a mad dash for the best beds,my tip is to sneak down the corridor on the ground floor and theres a small door there which gives access to the pool, just wait then until the cavalry charge and pop down your towels, bingo!
All in all it was a great holiday and i would highly recommend this hotel to all, well done to all the staff(apart from you know who!),keep up the good work.

Arrived around 5pm mid october and was checked in very fast and given floor 2 room 203 -
Room was very clean and everything was cleaned every day and changed, real nice cleaners who were very pleasant.
Food excellent, bar service very good although they dont like you borrowing the ingredients on the end of the bar to make a sneaky bloody mary.....they are nt served all inclusive but the extras are on the bar he he he, bit of fun making one or two as they keep and eye out when you have vodka and tomato juice...ha but all the drinks included were good quality and get as many as you want in pints, bottles or bottled wine, saves queueing too often and getting a round in at once..Beware of karaoke singers on their balconies singing away towards the end of the night singing ghost town and jarvis cocker tunes.....common people like ....

Food was very high quality with steak, lamb chops, porks, chicken ,liver on offer regular all cooked fresh in front of you to your liking, top service along with made omelettes etc..great breakfasts and lunch..

Pool was great for the kids as it was rather big for them with all inflatables to be picked up poolside free just one day there was a famous sketch off the benidorm series and it was all out of the pool...leave you to guess what... and the rooftop was good for quiteness and frying yourself to look like madge off benidorm...beware of the possible sightings of nudist people on the other side....may not be pleasant if over the hill...even your sunglasses wont help...

Based on a small hill and only ten minutes to the beach downhill but nothing drastic..beware of little train outside the hotel as at least dick turpin wore a mask...daylight robbery and one noisy struggling ride with a woman also making you stand and deliver for a photo she has taken of you on the train then wants more euros...

Plenty of bars on the sea front with many great offers...

Hotel is superb 4 star, fun entertainment with lots of prizes won on the music guess the film track as we got bared from answering any more lol , kids loved it, ideal holiday spot...

If in doubt book it you wont be left high n dry unless you get on the train....

Steve

Room Tip: If you can get higher than the second floor looks a lot better although all very nice..

So my partner and I headed out to Tenerife in October 2013 after quickly establishing that we appeared to be the only two people on earth who had not spent some time on this beautiful Canary Island!
Our initial reaction to the hotel was very positive, we were made very welcome by the professional, easy going staff.
We had booked a Junior Suite, a little more costly than the others due to the extended balcony, but did not find it to be money well spent.
The room was spacious and clean but unfortunately I must point out there were a handful of negative aspects of our stay at the Fanabe.
Firstly the shower was not attached to the wall so you effectively were forced to stand holding the shower spray whilst washing which was uncomfortable to say the least.
The fact there was no shower curtain or doors did not help matters as it was easy to accidentally flood the toilet.
Secondly we found that after a few days of our stay our complimentary dressing gowns were taken away without being given any explanation as to why.
Thirdly there was the added hassle of having to unplug one of the two television sets as using one of the remote controls resulted in both TV's being affected.
Fourthly we had to ask that the complimentary fruit bowl was removed from our room as it was infested by tiny insects.
Throw in the added facts there was a hole in one of the curtains and a broken socket were there were further black marks against the hotel.
And even simple things like having no kettle nor radio in the room did not please me.
Aside from the room we were not content with the fact the rooftop pools were not heated nor the fact on our departure we were asked to carry our own heavy cases and hand luggage into a storage room in which ours and others belongings could easily have been pilfered.
After visiting a couple of two 5 star hotels nearby, the Gran and Iberostar, I remain baffled as to how on earth the Fanabe could be classed as a 4 star.
However despite my negative opinion of our hotel I would really recommend Tenerife as resort, it is a gorgeous island with very friendly people and plenty of things to do (I would particularly recommend a boat trip to see the dolphins in the ocean).

six of us went to this hotel in mid august, 2x pensioner's, 2x parents (in early 40's) and 2 children.
I have been all inclusive before, but I was not expecting such a wide variety and choice as this hotel put on, my youngest son is quite a faddy eater, but there was always something there he would happily eat.
the rooms were clean and tidy and bedding changed daily, the all inclusive drinks I was expecting to be like gnats pee, were actually very nice.
the staff were helpful and friendly, there was also free Wi-Fi, for those (like me) who want to keep up with events at home.
The children's entertainment on an evening was great, hats off to the entertainment team, not only did they do a first class show on an evening they also did the kids club throughout the daytime.
around the upstairs bar in the evening was various singers/guitarists/organ players etc keep an eye out for the one that looks like john j Rambo :-)

only thing that let this hotel down was the lack of sunbeds, there was literally a race for them when the pool area was opened on a morning !
on a whole an enjoyable holiday that was worth the money, overall I'd give it 8.5/10

Hotel was very clean and beds very comfy. We used the rooftop pool as it was mainly adults only and was quiet with good sunbeds, bar and small pools. The food was ok - some nights better than others. There is a nice area at the front of the hotel where live music is played every night and there is a nice atmosphere. Hotel located a few minutes walk from beach although there is a hill to climb to get back up to hotel. The surrounding area is very nice, well kept and clean and there are plenty of bars and restaurants. I imagine, like most places, it would be a busy hotel in peak season and therefore I went in October.
