We booked this hotel before looking it up on Tripadvisor which showed some uncomplementary reviews and so we set off with some trepidation but we need not have worried. We were met at the spotlessly clean reception by friendly staff with a welcoming drink then went through the booking in procedure and we were in our 5th floor room in next to no time.It was a lovely large spacious room big enough to accomodate a family of 4 there was the two of us and it was spotlessly clean as was the large bathroom. The patio doors lead onto an ample balcony. The furniture was a little dated but it was no where near as bad as the reviews had lead us to believe and the decor was fine. The main bar adjacent to the reception was splendid and that lead onto a dance ared which was nicely laid out and well furnished. The dining room was also spotlessly clean even the table cloths were change every time a diner left the table and immediately laid ou for the next diner. The waiters were emaculately dressed and ever helpful. The food was superb both at breakfast and dinner with a massive choice which must have suited all tastes anyone who couldn't find a satisfactory meal must be a very fussy eater. The one thing I thought was great was that the coffee and milk came in individual jugs with no need to be going to machines slopping water everywhere.A nice touch was on Valentines night we met at the dining room door with a glass of red wine and the room was decorated in red heart shaped balloons only a small thing but very thoughtful. The pool area consisting of two adult and a kiddies pool was emaculate with ample sunbeds no need for annoying towel reservations. The landscaped area though small in area was kept neat and tidy.I cannot comment on the standard of the entertainment as after a day spent round the pool and siting on the balcony we like get away from the hotel of an evening and around the local bars for our entertainment. One thing about the room was that it had a modern 27" LCD tv with a variety of channels in diferent languages I think there was about 6 in English couldn't escape Corrie!!!!!! There was a couple of very minor things which I did not care for but which in no way detracts from the high standard of this hotel.I did not like the method whereby all purchases made in the hotel were booked to your room and the bill settled when booking out as on holiday I like to keep track of my spendind on a day to day basis and the other point is that drinks were quite expensive but as I said we spend very little time at any hotel bar.Despite was some people have said in thier review this is a splendid hotel I would have no hesitation in recommending it to friends something I would not normaly do as what could suit one person doesnot always suit another. One last thought I did notice that some redecorating was under way but was so well planned that it did not interfere with the comings and goings of guests.

Stayed there for a week in February. We went as a family- 2 adults, 1 child(7years old). Big hotel, clean, staff very kind and smiling and helpful. The bedrooms and furniture old, need some renovation but this was not a problem for us. Bathroom clean and big but I saw some small ants running around there. We got a room in the 5th floor- great view and really great location- beaches, walking promenade, shops, bars all around and near the hotel. Child was happy as she got her own room and balcony. Across the street there are 2 noisy bars that play music and karaoke pretty loud at night but as we were exhausted from our busy days, didnt had any problem to fall asleep. After some time the loudness stopped (maybe around midnight or so ? ). As it is a very big and busy hotel You must almost every time wait for the elevator for some time. Especially when eating time. Restoran big and very good, very big variety of dishes. We liked it. We got always table really fast and restoran staff really good- helpful and take your plates so it was always a pleasure to enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner. And Manuel from restoran so great, our own waiter who remembered our drink preference. Hotel has 2 pools, 1 of them heated- our girl had fun there and it was a pleasure to swim there. Unfortunately there were just few children at the hotel so our girl had no-one to play with. The playground for kids small, just few things there and not enough kids for mini-club. About 70% were old people aged 60-80 but they were kind and happy, enjoying their stay and the atmosphere at the hotel was peaceful and nice. Good change to Egyptian hotels that are usually crowded with noicy people and lot of russians... all in all we enjoyed our stay as there were many nice things and great weather etc. that kept up our emotions and good mood.

Arrived mid-afternoon and were welcomed with a fruit juice which was welcome whilst checking in. This was done quickly and efficiently.

Lifts are very slow and there was quite a long wait for them even when it was not mealtimes. When it was mealtimes you could wait up to 10 mins or longer. Everyone was complaining about them. People then get frustrated and start pushing and jumping the queue. This needs sorting.

Rooms okay, a bit faded, could do with an update.

Pools nice although cold. Plenty of sunbeds.

Breakfast was okay, the normal breakfast food and the normal problem with slimy eggs as when there was a queue they were just throwing them on the plates without cooking them properly. This also applied to the evening meals. One night I had chicken which was rare.

The first couple of evenings the meal was okay, but nothing special, the usual meats and what I suspect was either tinned or frozen mixed veg. On the third night a Saga party had arrived and it was all hell let lose. I have never met such an ignorant set of people in my life, pushing and shoving in the dining room. Don't think I have anything against elderly people as I am myself 65 but these people were just downright rude. The dining room then became full and people were having to queue outside and wait for a table. I think the problem was becauses they were all inclusive they all wanted to eat early and then get a seat in the lounge for the entertainment. I did hear a rumour that the management were going to do the same as the Gran Tenerfe and have time slots for the meals. You are given a table and a time slot and keep them for your entire holiday. This is a backward step and reminiscent of a boarding house in Blackpool being told when you can and can't eat. This could be a problem if you have a 6.30 slot and go on a trip and do not get back for your time slot or if you just feel like eating earlier or later than your allocated time.

Location of the hotel good, plenty of good walks, shops and nice bars in the area.

Will not be returning as it is not of a 4 star standard and therefore a bit on the expensive side.

On arrival Saturday 12th January, a 3 week stay for our 46th Wedding Anniversary, we were given a room looking into the hotel next door and the car park; it had a side sea view but would not get any sun until late afternoon. We had paid for a sea view and on 3rd offer got a suitable room with sun all day. We were on 7th floor but noise and traffic fumes were bad, from road below us and roadway at front of hotel, and we had to shut balcony door at night. Rooms and corridors not 4 star; bathroom looked like 5 year old had done tiling (they would probably have done a better job!) Room decor and furniture need updated and horrible bedspreads made room look smaller - it reminded us of Butlin's Holiday Chalets in the 60's! Other areas were not too bad but a number of floor tiles in Dining Room were cracked. Food in dining room was good, but we noticed a difference in quality after a lot of French guests left in our 2nd week. Staff in Dining Room were very good and worked hard. The smoking area outside was beside Dining Room and the smell hit you on leaving Dining Room. There are smoking rooms on 1st and 2nd floors, but people still smoked on their balconies on other floors our neighbours especially. This hotel is in Las Americas not Costa Adeje as Casino and Veronicas were a short walk away, and hotel we stayed in before, which is in Las Americas, is further along the road towards Costa Adeje: it seems like authorities are trying to get rid of Las Americas and it's reputation! Lots of new shops and hotels towards Los Christianos, but a lot of shops and restaurants closed all over the area. Recession has caused problems here, and shop owners are more willing to haggle and you can get some good deals. It is about 10 years since we last stayed in this area and we noticed a lot of changes, some not for the better; but the 10 o'clock Cafe on the walkway beside the Hotel Jardin Tropical still serves the best coffee in Tenerife, and has a weekly Flamenco show on Thursday nights at 9pm, which is better than the one in our hotel. The hotel entertainment staff were not very good, nobody sang but mimed; and their version of Riverdance was embarrassing! Other entertainers appeared on Sunday nights; the best of them were Beatles Tribute Group, 3 Tenors and Bollywood Dancers. TV in bedrooms showed BBC London and ITV Wales so we watched a lot more TV than we normally do on holiday. Russians seem to be the main group of tourists now and a lot of businesses are being run by them.

Room Tip: Rooms on East side of hotel get most sun but also traffic noise and fumes. We were in 723 but rooms further along the corridor towards the sea may not be so noisy but are above smoking area outside dining room.

I have just returned from a week in this hotel. The hotel is nice and all reas are kept very clean. The bedrooms could do with some attention as they are very worn - The bath in our room was very worn and appeared dirty looking tho it wasn't. Was surprised and disappointed to not have a kettle in the room. There was a mini fridge and would have appreciated tea making facilities especially as I was with my little girl who was very sleepy in an evening after a days activities and so was often confined to the room in an evening.
The lifts were a pain but did not spoil our enjoyment of the hotel and the holiday. Other guests could at times be extremely rude in pushing in front to get in the lifts even tho you could have been waiting a while! I guess patience is the biggest key with the lifts. I did have concerns that at times far too many people crowded into the lift at once. It stated 13 people but I would say 8-9 was more than enough.
We were located on the 3rd floor with a balcony facing the road however you could see the mountains and a sea view at the same time. Incidently a trip up to the roof of the hotel was well worth while as the views from there are spectacular.
We did not experience a great deal of noise on the third floor at night time.
I only had breakfast in the hotel but the range of food on offer was amazing. There was something to suit all tastes. Dining room was very busy after 8.45am.
I found all the staff without exception to be very friendly and helpful.
I would have liked to have seen some of the entertainment begin a little earlier. My daughter was desperate to see the mamma mia show and stayed awake for this but only just! We did not get to see other shows as she was far too tired by the 9pm start.
The pool area was lovely. Very clean with plenty of sunloungers. There are 2 main pools one heated one not. There is in addition a third very shallow paddling pool.
There is a games room for the kids which tho a little sparce was okay. We did not try out the mini club.
Majority of guests staying at this hotel were of retirement age and there were very few families with children. Again my daughter and I enjoyed our stay regardless and all the people we met were very pleasant nice people.
One thing worth mentioning is that because all payments are made at reception at check out for those with later flights it poses a problem at the bars. Thankfully the kind waiter at the pool bar gave me a free cup of tea as I was hanging around for a few hours prior to transfer. Maybe the manager needs to consider how guests could access the bar for drinks on their last day?
The hotel is located in very close walking distance to Siam Park. There are plenty of bars, restaurants located around. It is located just past the harbour if you were heading in the direction of Los Christianos. Like many hotels in Tenerife there was a steep climb up to the hotel from the beach.
