The only reason I have ticked no in the box to recommending this hotel to a friend is because of the extra charges in the hotel.
Its a beautiful place but on principal l wont use the pool because l object to paying 2 euros for the sun lounger. Pity, because normally I would sit there all day and spend lots on snacks and drinks.
The cleaning charges are extortionate at 3 euros per towel change, sheet change and general cleaning. I did manage to plead with them not to charge on the one occasion as I was stranded and skint due to volcano.
Think the 24 euro charge for the TV was too much too.
Apart from that I found the hotel comfortable and very nice. The staff were nice too. The walk to the beach, bars etc not that bad.

We just spent a week at Neptuno and we had a lovely time. Richard at Reception was very helpful on arrival, as we were delayed by our Airline by 5 hours, who gave us a lame excuse, which was totally incorrect. Needless to say we will not be travelling with that Air Line ever again. Richard helped us get some food as it was midnight when we arrived. Complex was quiet while we were there and plenty of space by the pool. I agree that it may be a wee bit out of town but you are in the heart of everything in 10 minutes and taxi's are not expensive. Would have no problem in returning here again.

Just back from a week at the Neptuno. All the previous reviews say it all really. Not the best location, nice size rooms but very basic, have to pay for TV, safe etc and helpful staff. Don't eat there as food is not value for money. Better off down at the local shopping centre. We went to the local "Spa" which you should also avoid as it is very expensive and is nothing like the advertising says it provides. However, all being said, you get what you pay for and I will check reviews on Trip Advisor more carefully before booking a cheap hotel again. Tenerife though is a great place and choosing a better location and hotel makes all the difference.

We stayed in an apartment which was located right by the bar. Every night they would blast the music so loud it would make it hard to fall asleep, plus they played the same CD each night...got very tired of Amy Winehouse. The food was terrible but we found that was at most restaurants. I ordered a Caprina from the bar and they gave me a drink of lemons, ice, gin and lemon slushy. The heated pool and is actually not on premises, you have to walk next door to Regency to use their facilities. We love traveling and walking everywhere, so a couple miles to the beach and back does not sound bad. The problem is they are on a very steep hill, so down is very easy but pushing a double stroller up was impossible up hill. The cleaning crew was very nice and were always prompt and quite knowing that the children were napping at that time. The kitchenette came with everything (basic) you would need. I think if we would have complained and moved rooms to a quieter area, it would not have been so bad.

Pretty much an alright place for your average holidaying broke student, lol. However, could do with better maintenance; as the shower curtain in the bathroom was old and nasty. The pool was also slightly dangerous for non expert swimmers as it had a very steep slope into the deep end. The walk down the hill was quite hectic and far from the 5 minutes mentioned in the hotel description. On a better note, however, the half chicken and fries at the pool bar was very very tasty and filling and should NOT be scrapped from the menu. Overall, i'd say OK if u're a broke holidaymaking student, lol.
