Just returned from first trip to Tenerife, staying at Neptune Apartments. Best apartments we have had in years for the cost. Apartment was for 4 and was very spacious, clean and we had a balcony overlooking the town and sea. Kitchen was very well equipped with proper hob and microwave. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Pool was lovely with sufficient sunbeds for all. Apartments were in a quiet location, even though it was up a hill we found the walk no problem if we paced ourselves. A courtesy bus ran every hour during the day to the beach and other resorts. Supermarkets and bakery were within 3 mins of apartments. My husband used the small gym which was basic everyday.
Overall we could not fault it and would stay there again, however, would not recommend it for those with walking disabilites.

Just got back and needed to write a reviews about how mint this place was.
We got there at 9pm and the guy who checked us in (Luis) showed us to our room. I had requested a ground floor room because my girlfriend is 6 months pregnant, which they accommodated for. Because we had got a studio room (cheaper) we were put by the road side.
To be honest, our first nights sleep was awful. We could hear the traffic and the room was very hot.
So the next morning, I went down to order an air conditioning unit and Luis explained that we could move rooms if we wanted. the next level up for rooms was an apartment.
They kindly gave us some money off so we could upgrade and also lended us a fan instead of having to purchase an air conditioning unit.
Basically it worked out we got the upgrade for free.
It was very nice of them to help us like that, because they could of easily charged us for both.
If you are going to stay here, 100% go for the apartment, it may be a little more $$$ but you get so much more. The sea view is worth it alone.
You are on a hill yes, however you are 5 minutes from the shopping centre, and 10 minutes from Adeje.
The Regency club which is next door lets you use their facilites which are much better then the Neptuno. And as well at the Regency pool bar is the best burgers in Tenerife!
If you want, you can use the free bus service to go upto the Regency Country Club. This is the peak of their chain and is a 25 minute journey away and you go further up the mountain, however it is so much worth it.
It has an infinity pool, a pool bar and is very very posh.

Neptuno is a hidden gem, very cost effective and with the capability to use other more exclusive places facilities.
The taxi cost to the airport is only 25 - 30 euros
So instead of paying a transfer service £25 per person, jump in a cab.

Room Tip: upgrade to an apartment. Don't go studio

We have jsut returned from a long overdue break - First visit to Tenerife and the Neptuno Apartments. Have stayed at Budget accomodation in many countries and never have I been as dissapointed as I was with this one. I had contacted the apartments direct before leaving to ensure that there was some type of air conditioning and had been told there were fans in each apartment, (which I took to be the large ceiling fans, often found in the canaries).
On arrival the duty person on the desk was abrupt and rude and could not even be bothered to smile. We were given the key to our room and not even directions on how to get to it ( I had to ask) maybe it was an omen as we were given room 13 (and boy was it unlucky for some !) when we were given the directions across the dirty and noisy pool area we opened the door and the stale stench hit us immediately, the furniture was basic okay no problem except it was broken and the bedding was smelly and did not fit the beds. The balcony had not been swept in a while and the kitchen area had some visitors ( 4 cockroaches) now I was expecting to see one or two due to the climate but not immediately. The bathroom was a patch up job with mastik holding things together, the towels smelt of stagnent water. We immediately went back to reception and asked to be moved to a different room and we explained our dissatisfaction on the room again we were given a key to room 15 which we went to see and once we ascended the dirty stairs and picked our way threw the litter .low and behold it was no better, with the chairs having large stains and velcro pieces on the stools but no cushions, as time was getting on we decided to try and contact the number on our booking confirmastion to ask for assitance in being moved to alternative accomodation but no answer ! after 5 attempts gave up. Again complained to desk but as manager not available we were unable to be relocated. We decided that we would seek alternative accomodation ourselves but we would have to stay the night at Neptuno until we could sort something out. That was an experience, we moved a bed onto the balcony and slept there that night. The noise frrom the pool area went on until 0300am . In the morning I watched the so called cleaning team tidy the pool area - no sweeping up just hosing down and you could see the dirt being hosed towards the pool drains and some of the dirty water going into the pool. There was no pool filtration running and the maintainence man then just threw some chlorine salt into the pool to clear the water. ( not the most ideal hygiene system with so many using the pool) when I had asked about fans in the apartments when we were requesting a new room I was informed that you had to hire them and it takes a couple of days to organise - there are no fans in the rooms.
It appears that the side of the pool where we were given accomodation is old and used mainly by staff and staff of other hotels but the accomodation at the other side is newer and quieter so we were informed by the lady in the apartment next to us.
We went for some breakfast and walked into town or should I say hiked
(apparently there is a shuttle bus but when we asked it was not running yet - well talk about cardiac hill god help anyone with arthritis, small children or people generally in sedantary jobs who are not used to walking - Yes you can get a taxi at a reasonable cost approx 3.5 euros but if you add that onto the cost of a ten day holiday by twice a day that is 70 euros, plus the cost of hiring a fan for another 25 euros for ten days and then if you wanted tv and use of the safe another 25 euros each thats an extra 145 euros out of your spending money , oh yes and if you want your room cleaned and bed linen and towels changed that an extra 3 euros each , and with the heat you will need this service.
If we had known about all of the above we would never have booked this accomodation. With the help of our kids back home they managed to secure us other accomodation in a better location through a private owner.
Through all this we kept trying to get in touch with a rep from the travel company we travelled with but to not avail .
I am sure there will be peole that will have had a better experince - all I can do is speak about our experience and it was a terrible one which could have ruined our holiday. Each to their own. We will not be revisiting this area again.

Room Tip: I think you need to ask for something in the newer apartments behind reception area, according to th...

We have just returned from our two week holiday to Tenerife. The Neptuno hotel was excellent for family, couple, and group holidays, the pool was great and the was plenty of room for everyone. Though the rooms were basic they were fine for the time we spent in them, the staff were excellent and the rooms were cleaned every day. If you are going to stay in this hotel i recommend you eat at the bar in the hotel as they do really good food, also there were two resraunts i would strongly recommend which are the Decantos (tapas & bar, they also have another restraunt which does paella and fish, meat) it is a 5 minute walk up the hill, and the Landskrona Terraza which is a Sweedish restraurant that does takeaways and the best kebab ever. The only downside was that we tried the market one day and it wasnt as cheap as we expected, though down the hill there were gift shops and they were quite cheap. There is a big hill to walk up and down to get anywere (as you would expect because it is a volcano) but the taxi rides are VERY cheap and we are pleased to say we didnt use them. The beaches are lovely and so is the weather, have a nice stay.

Room Tip: Our room number 34 had a viw of the sea and the pool. Ask for one on the top floor.

If you're looking for a good quality 3 Star hotel close to all amenities this is ideal. My family thoroughly enjoyed their stay, the apartments are kept very clean and the staff can't do enough to help, I would definitely recommend this hotel for a fabulous stay.

Room Tip: Room 22 is very nice, looking out to the swimming pool.

stayed here for a week not my sort of thing as we usually stay in an all inclusive hotel with entertainment as we have 2 kids but this was a last minute cheap holiday only time i been self catering is in usa but we thought we try it well 1st of all our apartment was up 3 flights of stairs and there was no lift and we had to carry a buggy up and down which was tiring and couldnt be moved to the ground. The rooms looked tired and need a good refurb the location was terrible it was just very boring but im sure a lot of people would love it. one thing i want to mention was a brittish man who lives in tenerife with his wife used to pop to the bar at the apartments by the pool he was about late 60s he seemed very nice at 1st bought us a drink and then once he got comfortable started talking about sex and swingers and said how many couples he has had at these apartments and wanted to know what number our room was so all couples due to stay here, young and old. watch out.

Room Tip: ground floor room advised

This is the 3rd Review of a so called "Budget" holiday apartments that I have written.
And once again if you are one of the moaners stay away.
Yes there was the odd fault here and there. A few things that needed attention.
But when you look at what you pay for a place like this is great.
It is as far out as Leguna Park 2 so taxis back are required. But at 3 euros that's not too bad.
But I think these apartments are better and quieter than Leguna Park 2.
Nice pool area and a very good changing area if your flights are later in the day and you need to freshen up.
Just one thing I would complain about. Beds were made every day except Sunday but they said towels every 3 days. Got to the 6th day and I think they believe that as you are leaving the next day they won't bother. Whether this was just a mistake on this one occasion I am not sure.
But overall well worth the visit for the non-moaners
