“2nd Girlie Holiday to the Adeje Gran just as good as the 1st”
Reviewed March 20, 2013

My 4 friends and myself have just returned, all too soon may I add, from our annual girlie holiday and the 2nd time at the Adeje Gran. I can honestly say it was just as good if not better than last year, even though we only stay for 4 days. We were checked by Juan Carlos who was very helpful, friendly and efficient for all of our stay, and the glass of cava or apple juice went down a treat after our journey. Our cases were at our rooms, 580 and 581 on the top floor with magnificent sea and pool views, within 5 minutes. The sun is on the balcony from early morning to sunset and although not huge it is perfect to sit and have a drink on and chill out whilst other people get ready.
The food as I said in my last review is excellent and the choices are enough for even the pickiest of eaters. The freshly made omelettes in the morning with oven cooked tomatoes are delicious, the choices are never ending. For lunch and dinner my favourite is the salad with Canarian potatoes, fresh cooked fish and pasta, but again there are so many other choices it is hard to make up your mind. The chefs on the fresh cooking stations work so hard to ensure you get what you want as quick as possible, and yes there are queues, so just be patient and say" gracias" it's good to show some appreciation for how hard they work. The waiters and waitresses work like trojans to set and clear tables so again a little patience is sometimes necessary, after all you are on holiday.
Most of the drinks are branded and there are 5 cocktails included in the all inclusive, the rose wine, which you get by the bottle in the dining room, is lovely. We had a jug of Sangria every afternoon on the terrace bar along with coffees and baileys a perfect way to end the afternoon, all the staff are lovely and will stop for a chat to help me with my Spanish , which is much appreciated.
The evening entertainment was in the reception bar area this year, and once again the 3 tenors were on and were brilliant as were the saxophonist and piano players. It's a large area with places to chill and relax either inside or outside, if you are a smoker.
There is a market opposite the hotel on a Thursday and Saturday and is well worth a visit, the bus stops are right outside which take you all over the Island, and the promenade for a leisurely stroll to Fanabe , La Caleta or El Duque is at the bottom of the hill, a little steep but well worth the effort and there is a lovely shopping area on the way to break up the walk downhill.
There is a beach at the promenade, and this year we sat on it for a few hours and went for a swim in the sea which was a little chilly at this time of year but very invigorating, then we sat for a coffee at one of the many bars in El Duque.
My only small gripes are as last year with having lunch, as we still could't sit outside in the sunshine, being all inclusive, unless we opted for a very limited choice with plastic knives and forks, so we had to go in the dining room, but perhaps when we go next year they may have sorted something out. You can get toasted sandwiches from the reception and sit in there to eat them if you do not want to go in the dining room.
The second being, as last year, the sun beds and umbrellas desperately need replacing, they do let the lovely pool areas down.
I would just like to thank ALL the staff for making our holiday fantastic and can't wait to go back in May.
It's one of the best hotels we have stayed in and I am going again in May with my husband for his birthday as well as with the "girls" next March. Take my advise just book it and see for yourselves, you won't regret it.

Room Tip: Pool and sea view a must on 3rd 4th or 5th floor.

The hotel is a 4 and not a 5 star. The hotel is very grand on entrance but the whole place is a little tired. The pool area is very nice and no reserving loungers is a good touch.
The dining room is a litle hectic especially at breakfast. Rooms are very clean and comfortable and nightly entertainent is ok.

Costa Adeje Gran- faultless!!
Stayed 9 to 16 March, B&B.
Speedy check in & out, but enjoy a glass of complimentary Cava in reception, don't miss the breakfast Cava also!!
I stayed at this hotel in Oct 2012 & enjoyed so much that wanted to return.
Rooms, all so clean & spacious, robes, slippers, great maid service & toiletries.
Wall mounted hairdryer adequate but I like my own!!
Room complimentary tea/coffee- nil- but small fridge- so easy to take a travel kettle & buy local milk. You can hire from reception.
Breakfast- arrive hungry!! I think- 8 feeding stations of such a vast lovely array of food-eggs/omelettes/pancakes- cooked to order. Smoothies- blended as you arrived!!
Pools- heated by the waterfall.
Pool- rooftop- no children.
Pool towels- huge!
Pool bar- very pleasant- not over priced.
Gym excellent, but question to management, gym bunnies cannot start their workouts until 10am, too late after the excellent breakfast!!, could the gym be opened earlier?
Evening entertainment- excellent, tried to accommodate all tastes, ranging from tribute acts changing nightly from Elton John, the Beatles, the Bee Gees & the 3 Tenors, also an excellent Mongolian acrobatic troupe.
Market, Thursday & Saturdays- just across the road!!
Scuba diving!!- recommend Fly Over Tenerife- situated in Puerto Colon ( re named from Ocean Dream Factory).
Costa Adeje, so so clean.
Taxis very reasonable.
Lots to do & see. Enjoy!!

Room Tip: High floors for great sea & pool views- add on tariff. Lifts very speedy. High floors for grea...

This hotel was fantastic. I went with my family and my niece. It is great for small kids. The staff were very helpful but their English could be a little better. We had no problem getting all luggage to our rooms.

The breakfast variety was fantastic and yet again the staff are very helpful at this time. The swimming pools are freezing and not heated so I wasn't able to get into the pool unless i felt a little sun burn. The poolside food is limited and average but you can get by. We bought food from a burger place left of the hotel for a few euros and bought it back to the poolside, the staff didn't seem to mind. Room service food is good too but I wouldn't order the pizza, it was a little dry. They were very accommodating when it came to room service.

Childrens activities were a little scarce, although there was a childrens play area. This hotel is much suited for toddlers and not for older children.

Travelling to different places in Tenerife was easy from hotel, it only costs a few euros to get to other parts of the island, including the Mango outlet.

We decided to visit the roof top pool which was great and very relaxing but this area is not for kids. Its very quiet up there, but the scenery and atmosphere was priceless.

The rooms were clean and the beds were amazing. The mattresses, you can tell were very expensive and a delight to sleep on. The rooms are almost soundproof.

I would definitely come back here again for a relaxing time. I felt refreshed after this holiday felt sad to leave.

Just returned from this hotel on 12th March 2013 and we would highly recommend it. Hardly know where to start there is that much we want to say, from the gorgeous rooms with big beds and fab mattresses on ,white fluffy dressing gowns and wardrobe lights that come on when you open the doors. To the views , the rooftop pool, the heated pool.Wine is served by the bottle in the restaurant which is great !! We loved the food, but have experienced better! The hotel and the area of Costa Adeje is immaculate. Loved the no reserving sunbeds policy. Reception and all staff very helpful.Just want to mention that if you are all inclusive, when waiting at the bars to be served, be careful not to miss your turn by waiters serving people with cash in their hand first!! We will definately be back to this hotel and Costa Adeje.

A really nice hotel. Very grand lobby. Lovely pools. Plentiful sun loungers. Good food. Good and varied evening entertainment. Tended to older couples (at least when we were there in March), but couples of any age would find it relaxing. If you want something livelier in the evenings you can get a taxi to Playa de Las Americas for about €7 each way (or it's a nice walk along the seafront if you have spare energy). A 10 min (max) walk to the very nice beach. Within an easy walk of several good restaurants. Costa Adeje is the higher priced end of South Tenerife and it shows in the quality of the surroundings but also the prices. We felt this hotel was good value for the price we paid.

Room Tip: All rooms are nice. You can pay more for a sea view if that's important to you.

The hotel was superb from the point of view of bedroom (lovely) balcony (sunny), breakfast (as long as you were early and missed the crowds) hotel staff...(friendly, helpful and efficient)..Value.for money all round.

As previously said, this is more of a 4star than 5. There were a couple of areas which we didn't like...ie no escape from the entertainment. I thought there would have been a quiet bar in addition to the large one in the lobby...but no. So for anyone not appreciating or wanting to hear the very loud entertainment, this is not good. Lots of sunbeds...in fact the grounds downstairs seemed to be all pools, concrete and sunbeds...more garden areas would have been nice. Overall though....as said...very good value and recommended for families, and couples who like to be with large groups.

Room Tip: High up and make sure it faces the sun.
