“Good Hotel with Friendly Staff & Lovely Location”
Reviewed May 14, 2011

We stayed here for a week from 5th may and must say it was a really good hotel in a great location. The restaurant food always had a large variety: at breakfast you had the choice of a fry up, fruit, yoghurt, cereal and a continental option too, you had the option of a jug of coffee or tea, bought to the table by the waiter/waitress. In the evening again, a large variety: fresh meat or fish option cooked in front of your eyes, pasta selections, two kinds of soup, a large selection of salad - always very good, cheeses and bread along with ice cream, cakes and fruits. In the evening you have waiter service for your drinks, which are good value for money for a hotel restaurant, the restaurant never felt overcrowded.
The pool area always clean, never had a problem getting a sun bed whether it be 11am or 1pm. Good food and drink selection at the pool bar.
The staff are a credit to the hotel and were always willing to help, and go the extra mile.
We were lucky to receive a free drink on arrival, free sparkling wine some nights with your meal and during the day around the pool they would bring round a free drink, ice cream or piece of fruit.
The location was good, access to the promenade via the hotel, a good selection or restaurants and bars nearby but not close enough to be disturbed by noise etc, thoroughly recommend the Moonlight Bar which is set below the hotel on the promenade and is a sports, karaoke and caberet bar, good value for money, english staff and the acts were entertaining.
The beaches at this end of Costa Adeje are lovely, clear sea and clean sand, Playa la Pinta which is next to Puerto Colon is a lovely beach too, almost like a cove.
Overall I would return to this hotel...............

We stayed at the hotel on 26th april , the hotel is lovely on arrival we were given a welcome drink and allocated our room. We paid for our safe in the room and were given very brief info re the all inclusive meals etc. The staff speak very good english and were always friendly.

We had a side sea view and we were happy with our location as we had a view of the sea and a good view of the area from our 5th floor room.

The food we found was average and repetative and we were limited in choice for our two year old , even he was fed up of the endless same pasta dish , chips and processed chicken. I did resort to buying him branded weetabix and milk. I even bought our own fresh orange as the juice wasnt drinkable it was water threatened with a little concentrate, even our 2 year old would drink it - not that i wanted him to. So the food was a let down which was a real shame.

The entertainment was good compared to other hotels we stayed in , The shows didnt just consist of the entertainment team but external shows were put on such as beatles tribute , cirque de soleil and a majic show .

The childrens entertainment was almost non existent so hotel not really geared for this other than a freezing cold childrens pool and a small play area.

There was no real atmosphere in the hotel it was very conservative and felt more like a city hotel than a holiday resort.

We did enjoy our holiday but feel we missed out been all inc so we will try half board or self catering next time and we can choose were to eat rather than eating the same every day - it wasnt a cheap holiday either .

The room we stayed in was at the front of the hotel and it was very noisy you could hear buses , cars and people talking at all hours so it was nice to get home for some sleep.

We arrived at Torviscas Playa at 2pm to welcome drink ( it looked like it had been there a while). Reception staff pleasant, a quick check in and a room allocated. We were staying at this hotel in celebration of our 25th Wedding Anniversary, i emailed in advance to let them know this, we received nothing complimentary or had our celebration acknowledged!
Rooms basic and clean, fridge, air con, bathroom supplies( cotton buds, shower gel etc) including a hairdryer.
Beds rock hard, ask for a mattress topper, this helps.
Pool spotless, plenty of beds, pool bar well equipped.Friendly staff.
Restaurant...... plenty of everything to suit everyone, it would be nice to have a themed night or do something extra special instead of the same old fare
Entertainment OK, usual for holiday resorts.
The location is great, right next to the beach, plenty of nice walks to burn some calories. We have been to Las Dallias in Adeje in Oct and found that hotel nicer but Torviscas has the better location.
Would i go here again? Probably not, it didn't have the WOW factor, just another All Inclusive hotel. They failed to make our Anniversary special in any way.

Room Tip: we didnt swap our room but everything has a price!

This was our second visit to this hotel. Greeted with a cocktail on arrival, very welcome! Rooms are a good size and cleanliness is excellent. Safes are very reasonable to hire. One minor downside, only Sky News and BBC World News English channels on TV. Dining room spacious, no problem getting a table at any time and food was lovely and varied. Our regular waiter was very chatty and funny. Large pool area and sun beds always available (no towel nonsense), but it was April. Handy for the beach and harbour. A mix of British, German, Spanish and eastern European guests, but that didn't bother us. Overall, a lovely hotel and friendly staff.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the front of hotel

The hotel is well located near the beach and everything. If you want to travel trough the island, near the highway so a good thing. Large hotel, clean, large pools (not heated). Breakfeast OK. If your early not too busy. It's supposed to be a 4 star hotel, it is not, but they don't charge for a 4 star. Didn't try dinner, too many restaurants near. Parking lot small. So a nice stay.

Room Tip: Take a room with occean view, well worth it, even.

My wife, brother , sister in law and I stayed at the Torviscas Playa in April 2011.
The staff and amentities in the hotel were great. Hotel was very clean and cleaning staff on room duty did a super job.
The pool area and management of it was excellent.
Location was perfect, right close to the beach, port, shops, restaurants and bars.
However, the hotel is on a hill so walking back from the beach area might be difficult for anybody with walking impairments.
Entertainment at night was typical of what one might expect generally in the Canary Islands i.e. not great.
Food was plentiful and of an acceptable standard, with plenty of variety but not gourmet. I would strongly recommend changing the juice dispensers as most mornings these dispensed "coloured water". Also recommend changing the toasters as only people on holidays could afford to wait such a long time for toast!
That said, we really enjoyed our stay at the Iberostar Torviscas Playa and would return there again. It was a very pleasant experience.

Room Tip: Not sure, appears to be no guarantees.

I went with five friends to Tenerife last year. We all had a great stay at the Torviscas Playa! The staff, pool, views (not from our room) and food were lovely. We had two rooms between us, plenty of room! The rooms each had a balcony each- both a lovely size, although we looked out onto the road it wasn't actually a problem for us as we were down by the pool for most of the day.

The staff were really helpful and fun. They really encourage you to get involved in the poolside activities that I wouldn't normally do- but it made a nice change!

The location was maybe the only issue for me. We were a taxi ride away from the main nightlife, but this hotel never claims to be near it and it was nice to sleep in a quieter area! Also don't be deceived by the images- you have a short walk down the beach- we only visited it twice and for about 10/15 mins. Because of this we didn't get much of a feel for any water sports which was something we were looking forward to. Luckily the pool is lovely!

Oh and definitely visit Siam water park- one of the best days!

A little pricey for me but the price does reflect the hotel! -Probably not the best location for five party going girls in their twenties!

Room Tip: request when booking
