“Good hotel for family holiday but sun bed/umberella arrangements are a shambles”
Reviewed August 12, 2010

Just back after a very enjoyable and value for money holiday at this hotel which is ideal for families but as always it depends on what you are wanting. If you want top class entertainment then this is not vegas and you may be disappointed but i am not sure that they have a snake show, parrot show and birds of prey all in one week. The entertainment team (4 of them) work hard all day and they are excellent. The reception staff are all helpful and were friendly from when we arrived. Rooms cleaned every day and yes there are a couple of cockroaches around but so what?. Sports faciities i.e. tennis, squash, ping pong and footy are all good. Food was good and there was a plentiful supply of snacks and variety in meals. If you want michelin standard and variety then this is not the place for you though. Big disappointment for us and other people staying there was the lack of sun umberellas and sun beds. The locks weren't taken off the sun beds until after 9a.m. so people were queueing around the pool guarding the umberellas from 7:30 just to get them. This resulted in raised adrenalin levels every morning and then it was chaos in the restaurant for breakfast afterwards as people then headed there to congratulate themselves on a job well done if you got an umberella. Overall good place for a family, quiet, clean, friendly, plenty to do if you want to get involved. Beach about 15 mins away with a good selection of shops, bars, clubs etc.

Bad points . Glasses in restaurant filthy , rude and noisy spanish familys with ignorant children, early rise ( 7am) for sun umbrella, poor kids menu , no room for sunbeds, entertainment awful !!!, location of hotel, you have to negotiate two very dangerous roundabouts when walking into town, toilets at pool a no go area, filthy. You need to go to your room to use the toilet.
Good points . Staff are very friendly and you get to go home !!!!!!!
We stayed first 10 days this august . Great to be home !!!!!

We arrived at Villa Tagoro, 1am on Sunday 1st August. We we went through reception and received a warm welcome and a picnic, which was great as we were starving! Adults get a blue wrist band and children under 18 get a red one.
We stayed in room number 003, no cockroaches all week. The room was lovely, clean, and spacious. We were given 2 single beds instead of a double (couldnt move them together) but that wasn't a big problem. We were given a travel cot for our toddler which had clean sheets every day. Our 5 yr old slept on a single sofa bed which was more comfortable than then the 2 single beds which were a bit hard for my liking...I did sleep next to my 5 yr old for comfort! My hubby had no trouble sleeping! lol. We had a room close to the pool but you couldnt see the pool from our large patio area. When we wanted clean towels, we left the dirty ones in the bath for the housekeeping ladies to take away (as the hotel told us)
Food, was lovely, Massive choice even for fussy eaters! The steak is amazing, must try it! They had a Mexican theme night, Chinese and Italian theme nights also. The cakes looked like they came out of charlie and the chocolate factory, lots of pinks, orange, yellow etc! I stuck to the delicious ice creams! The pool side snacks are the pretty much the same all week, chips, chicken nuggets, cheese, ham etc. The evening they served popcon which didnt have any flavour. The bars served locally made drinks, If you wanted any thing like smirnoff ice or becks you have to pay 3 euros. Lots of self service machines, juice, tea and coffee etc so you can get your own drinks. Anthony, a waitor was very friendly towards our family and made a good effort to talk to our children.
The entertainment staff were friendly. Adam is absolutely brill with kids, he has so much energy, he should bottle it and sell it. He was really good, if you go, ask Adam where Michelle is lol! (he dressed up as a woman and danced to Beyonce, it was funny) He and the other entertainers can speak different languages and say everything so all can understand which is good.
We went to Loro park which was nearly 2 hours on a bus, a very good day out even though it was abit far with 2 young kids. (very busy there as well)
We loved it so much we didnt want to leave. We are hoping to go again next year for 2 weeks. A fab holiday, I cant wait to go back. I hope Adam will be there as he was great fun!

This hotel gets bad reviews and i cant understand why.
We went in a group of 12 adults, 3 children, 1 baby and 1 teenager and everyone of us had a fantastic time.
The rooms are spotless and cleaned everyday with fresh bedding and towels.
The staff are all very friendly and couldn't do enough to please.
The whole pool area is power washed every morning and the pool its self cleaned and tested every day.
The food is excellent, its all fresh and there is something for everyone, if you cant eat in this hotel you are too fussy, its not all fish i don't like fish and i managed to eat everyday no problem. The chef stands and cooks chicken in front of you and the veal and sirloin steak is superb.
There is a free bus into the town every hour, a taxi costs 3 euros and is at the hotel within a couple of minutes to pick you up.
The entertainment team are fab, my kids loved the kids club and mini disco, there is plenty for all ages to do through out the day. The evening entertainment is good.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone and would not hesitate to go back.

Stayed at the Villa Tagoro from 27th July until 6th August and had a lovely holiday with our teenage children. The hotel staff work really hard are are all very welcoming and provide excellent service. When we arrived our room wasn't ready and we realised we didn't have a pool view, we asked if we could have another room but were asked to look at the room first and if we didn't like it they would move us. Our room overlooked the quiet pool area and when we went in we were very surprised, we had a round sunken bath, a very large living room and bedroom, and a huge wrap around balcony with sun beds and table and chairs.

The hotel food has been lovely every day, with enough choice to always find something to eat, they have themed nights chinese, italian, spanish etc but the food was always really good.

The sunbeds situation of being downstairs ready for them to unchain at 9am every morning is annoying because you all hover and have to rush to get the area you want to sit in. Although to be fair the hotel are trying to stop people saving beds at 6.30am in the morning and be fair to everyone. Trying to get a parasol is difficult though as they are limited and people reserve them very early.

The entertainment team try but the shows are not always great, the magic show and the beatles was good but we met really nice people and had a fun time anyway. Its pretty much the norm when you have an animation team, the bar service was good we only queued for a few minutes each time they are fairly quick and the drinks are not watered down.

The walk into Adeje bars is ok, it is a nice stroll taking about 15 mins down to Fanabe beach and worth a walk. Although the bars there were not that busy, brits are staying in the all inclusives where they have paid for their drinks already.

Las Americas is only about 8 euro in a cab and we had a lovely evening there watching the fountain show to music at the plaza.

As for cockroaches we saw a dead one on a step but remember your are in the canaries a very hot country, certainly did not see more than a couple.

All in all we had a great holiday, I do think this is 4 star, our room was amazing, food was good, I really don't know where these people were staying in the bad reviews but not sure that it was at the Villa Tagoro. Oh the sun tan advisor comes in every day and his speech is a bit annoying every day bless him,

Hope you have as good time as we have had,
