Most things about this hotel are OK. The location is good, the refurbished areas are really nice(especially the chill out terrace), the pool area is lovely and we had no problem with finding sun beds. The food is OK - typical hotel style buffet but good quality. The only thing that really let's it down is the attitude of the staff. They are just not welcoming and are sometimes quite rude. Such a shame as it made the difference between Ok and good.

We have just returned from a one week break at this hotel. We have stayed here twice before and were worried that the refurbishment might change the character of the place but it hasn't in fact it has enhanced the hotel and its facilities. Although the public areas have been done many of the rooms have not, they are still dated and in need of a face-lift.
The chill-out bar is wonderful and great to have a drink there while watching the sun go down. The new dining room is well set out and modern. The only problem with the dining room is there system of serving off the grill as it causes long queues to form while waiting for the staff to cook the eggs in the morning and the fresh meat and fish in the evening. Also the deserts are disappointing same thing every night. Other than this the food is very good and there is plenty of choice.
There are three pools and plenty of sun beds, the hotel does charge a deposit on the pool towels but then you can change them as often as needed. Another positive is the staff, on the whole they are friendly and helpful especially the bar staff, most of the reception and dining room staff (although there are a few exceptions).
The location of the hotel is ideal as it in on the beach front but still close to numerous bars and restaurants.
All in all a great holiday and we are planning to return next year.

JUST BACK FROM A GOOD RELAXING BREAK 10 DAYS IN TENERIFE.
BUT THANKFULLY NOT AT THIS HOTEL.

Given key to room, made our own way to it and could not believe what it was like.
wooden look floor, not even laminate, was covered in dirty footprints. Drawers
lined with greaseproof paper and filthy with crumbs in them. Bathroom fittings were all
rusty, soap dish hanging off the wall. Could not have slept in that room for one night.
Contacted our booking agent in London, who managed to find us a much better
standard hotel.
Staff at H10 not at all helpfull. When we informed them about the state of the room, they
did nothing about it until our agent contacted them and we were given keys to check out 2 other rooms which were no better. Eventually a "manager" showed us another 2 rooms, 1 had a used , toothpick in the drawer the other smelt damp and musty and
there was dirt and dust in sink, and also a rusty spring from a pen. When we said the rooms were dirty, the manager said he would get them cleaned! 'A BIT LATE FOR THAT'
This is hotel has definately NOT been refurbished throughout . The manager actually looked totally embarrassed when we asked him about the refurbishment programme that supposedly took place and said some work had been carried out but they DID NOT KNOW WHEN THE ROOMS WOULD BE DONE.
All in all a horrible experience of H10 HOTELS.
We have stayed at lots of 4&5 star hotels in Tenerife and have NEVER seen anything like this. Thankfully we did manage to change to another Hotel.
In future we'll stick to the ones we know.
DON'T RATE THIS HOTEL AT ALL.

We stayed 7 days half board, which we booked direct on the H10 website.

Good points

The communal areas. Just refurbished, all extremely modern with clean lines. Best bits were the 5 star style outdoor terrace with the white outdoor beds and sofas (photos all over the website). Also loved the terrace where you could eat breakfast / dinner overlooking the sea. Food was consistently pretty good. Chefs prepare meat / fish / pasta / breakfast stuff etc fresh at a grill, good selection on the counters. A bit samey after 7 days but pretty good, 6 or 7 out of 10 - only felt need to eat out once. Nice tidy pool areas. Pleasant clean room with nice balcony with sea view. Good location within walking distance of amenities but not right in the thick of playa de las americas.

Bad points

Fight for the prime sunbeds each the morning. Lots of aged continental residents when we were there who didn't always know how to queue like the Brits! Had to laugh when one or two of the lovely white beds on the terrace had a yellow towel on them first thing in the morning! Reception staff mixed - little interest when we checked in. Guitarist at the restaurant next door plays virtuoso guitar quite loudly from 10-11.30 each night (he is very good but you get to know the songs after 7 days though!). No tea / coffee in the room.

Would we go back? Yes definitely, especially if we got a deal. The hotel seemed one of the best 4 stars in its price range in the area. Good location too to access bars etc. A nice relaxing holiday.

Hotel located in a nice area with plenty of shops and bars but not overly lively. Not sure it warrants four stars, but good value for money via Portland Holidays. Rooms are done out nicely and staff are pleasant but reception staff not too hot when it comes to speaking English! The major downside is the loud music from a nearby restaurant. This won't affect you if you're out until well after midnight but for us it was very intrusive. We switched rooms twice but unless you're located at the far end of the hotel it is a problem. Food: average three star stuff. Outdoor heated pool useful in winter months. Distinct lack of sunbeds. The other which was really irritating is that our room was near the lifts and they ding dong at all hours. If you book request far left of the hotel preferably away from the lifts!
