Reception staff great as are bar staff in reception area but try the pool bar and restaurant, rude surly and stupid rules ie. not allowed to sit in certain area unless eating, chairs put across part of restaurant and not moved till 13.00 hrs and woe betide you if you move them. Some should NOT be working in the hospitality business.
Food in main restaurant definately geared up to the European palate, British palate not considered.
Very clean Hotel

Room Tip: Some rooms have not been refurbished, make sure you get a new room and not one overlooking a rubble heap!!

This is a difficult experience to review. We enjoyed our stay enormously but it may not be for everyone. We went All Inclusive and took the Privilege Package so I will feed back on the standard AI element first.
The food was good without being exceptional with choice that was OK but not amongst the best experienced. However, the wine was the finest I have enjoyed under AI and also the choice of premium brands at the bar ...very little required extra payment.
The staff worked their socks off and were very attentive but there were not enough of them at peak times. In particular, service in the Piano Bar was very slow and item replenishment failed occasionally in the buffet restaurant.
We are usually abed before the entertainment kicks off but the early evening Piano Bar resident chap was OK, playing an entertainment system that was a mixture of live and pre-recorded, the mix of which I could never quite fathom!
The Privilege Package made all the difference. This provided a room that was recently refurbished with a view of the sea (if you leant over the balcony!). Also provided tea and coffee making facilities that we appreciated as early risers. The main benefit for us was a roped off area overlooking the sea that was for Privilege guests only. Here, there were larger, more comfortable sunbeds and a waitress that came round every couple of hours with some little treat like a cocktail, cake, chilled towels etc. This was a very nice touch that made us feel a bit special. She also policed the area for trespassers! You were given special beach towels that acted as a passport to the area.
Privilege guests could also eat in the a la carte restaurant for breakfast away from the hurly burly but choice was more limited. Evening meals could be taken here, as well, but had to be booked 24 hours ahead. We did this twice but the menu is not extensive so we preferred the buffet.
Finally, we had access to the spa, without cost, where the pool was very warm and just about large enough to do a few lengths. Weather was superb during our stay so we only used this once to try it out.
It is worth mentioning that the Privilege Package is available without taking AI, since there is a dedicated lounge where a limited amount of snacks and drinks are available for free. The lounge is a tad sterile (bit like an airport VIP Lounge) but means you can chill out with a pre-dinner drink or midday coffee free of charge.
This hotel suited us down to the ground and we will return .....but if not taking the Privilege Package, you could probably do better.

Overall we had a reasonable stay but I have to agree with other people that it is an average 4 star. We went in the half term week so it was a full hotel, but it didn't always seem that the staff were able to or wanted to meet the demand. Service was either good or really poor. The worst place was the pool bar where you could sit for up to twenty mins before a drinks order was taken. Although I think this was after we upset a waiter on the first day by sitting in the pool bar restaurant 10 mins before they opened. It was a real basil fawlty moment!

We have 2 young children and they really enjoyed the mini disco every evening. The only thing I would say is that it would have been nice if they could have put on the A/C or opened some doors as it got really hot in there. Whenever anyone opened the doors the bar staff shut them again?!

The A/c in the rooms is shocking, we complained to the Thomas cook rep(next to useless unless you want to buy a trip!) and we had maintenance up but all to no avail. It might be in the privilege rooms that it is more efficient. Our room itself was clean and plenty of room for 2 adults and. 2 small children. It was kept clean and well maintained.

Overall an average stay but if I went back to Tenerife I would look to stay somewhere else.

Just returned from this hotel. The area is lovely and such a wide choice in activities for young and old. We have 3 small children so ensuring they were all looked after was important. Our room was big and spacious very very clean. We did ask for extra twin beds for out eldest two and had to request these several times before they turned up. We were staying half board, food very average, we stuck to the basics as some of it looked a bit unappealing. I ordered room service once which was disgusting and got my order totally wrong!
The lift was faulty so we had to rely on only one, this was reported but not fixed while we were there. Some of the staff are very rude and miserable.
Pools were clean and gardens well kept, some of the tiles very slippy so had to be careful with the little ones. This is a primarily French and German hotel and some of the activities for the children are a bit daunting for them as all the songs are in a foreign language. Wouldn't stay there again would go to hotel closer to the town centre.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the 6th floor.

They have the best areas of the hotel cordoned off for their "privileged" guests. No matter that you might be paying the same or more. you can't seat on the ocean view areas if you are not a frequent member. This is why I am giving them a poor mark. I understand that they might want to reward frequent guest, but there are other ways besides making the rest of the guest fill as inferior guests. They could offer view rooms, free laundry, free wine, etc. But to create an atmosphere of inferiority for their other guest is not acceptable. The breakfast had powder milk for your coffee, and if you wanted a decent cup of coffee you had to pay extra. Other than that, they had a large selection of food. The rooms were very nice with a refrigerator and a nice balcony. No good reading lights. Towels and amenities were good. There is nowhere to go walking from the hotel, but to other hotels and a tiny shopping center with a small supermarket. If you don't have a car you will be a bit stranded. They had a lot of activities for kids, so this would be a good hotel for families. They were painting on or floor and with such a large hotel, they could have giving us a place away from the maintenance.
