“Beds!”
Reviewed March 11, 2013

My sister and I went to this hotel at the end of Feb'13. This is a very impressive hotel with its grand entrance with beautiful stairs down to the dining room. The staff were all lovely especially on the desk. The couple of downsides were the beds! They were so very hard and all they could offer my sister who was having serious problems with it ...was blankets! Such a shame a hotel of this caliber fell down on one of the most important aspects of a hotel! A memory topper would have sufficed ! We had about four extra blankets on the bed to try and rectify it but she had to resort to a massage which thankfully helped! The guy who is in the hotel offering this service was very knowledgable and brilliant at his job.
The other downside was no kettle in the room ...so no facilities to make that first cuppa when you wake!
If you can cope with these problems then enjoy as the rest of it was great!
We did pick up a bad virus too! Could have been on the plane , but half the hotel were coughing!
They supplied antibacterial hand gel at the entrance of the dining room but most people walked by it? Why not make a dedicated staff member to apply it like they do on ships?

Room Tip: Make sure your room doesn't overlook the terrace as they have a singer with a piano who sings ti...

2nd trip to this hotel. The first trip in December 2011 and this trip 3 - 10 March 2013. Very nice clean and friendly hotel. Caters for all age groups and people with varying disabilities. We stayed half board, and food is varied and tasty, and they seemed to cater more for the English palate, with some Spanish and German options. All staff are very friendly and polite. Rooms and communal areas are very clean..... although with all hotels that are in use all year long, can look tired in some areas, but this is only a minor point.
Very good location for access to the more upmarket Du Duque area, but also for nearby Las Americas, and short taxi ride to Los Christianos.... also with choice of beaches nearby.

Room Tip: For a good night sleep, ask for a room high up, but perhaps not facing the road, as can be busy duri...

Stayed here end of July 2012, the food was fantastic and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The whole building was clean and the rooms were extremely comfy with good views of surroundings. The pool was a bit on the small side..but it was good to have a different pool by each set of sun loungers, although these were taken very quickly and we found it best to wait until breakfast tables had been cleared away. The day time activities that staff put on were also brillaint and very entertaining! Close to beach and the town. Overall brilliant place to stay.

Room Tip: Rear facing rooms had less noise from traffic

Spent a week here in indifferent weather. The hotel is clean, well laid out, though for the fit as there are a lot of stairs (though lifts are available). The room was clean & spacious, the bathroom had a very powerful shower, though the extractor didn’t work. Take slippers/footwear, as the marble floors can be cold. Room cleaning was a bit random, from anytime between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., so be prepared. We had a balcony in the shade, which was OK as it was quiet, unlike some rooms overlooking the busy road. The pool areas have plenty of sunbeds and several elevated terraces that catch the sun, though the hotel very cheekily charges over a Euro if you want to change your pool towel! To be fair, they were changed by the maid once during the week without request. Food in the cafeteria (restaurant is rather a grand title as it feels more like a canteen) offers a wide variety, though we have to say the watchwords are quantity rather than quality. The food is very bland and after a few days seems even blander, though we did hear others say they thought it was excellent (each to their own). Drinks, as in all hotels, tend to be on the expensive side. The best bet is to have a bottle of wine over a couple of nights, even though, unlike some other Spanish hotels, you have to take it back to the room as they won’t keep it for you. The evening entertainment was OK, if a bit dated. The promenade is a short walk away – head South towards Playa de Las Americas and you’ll be pestered by restaurant and bar owners all the way. Head North for a much quieter and more scenic walk, with a few more upmarket restaurants and a nice shopping area in quaint twisting streets. If we went back to Tenerife, it would probably be to a RIU, which leaves the Princess chain trailing in it’s wake.

The hotel is spacious, clean and tidy. The staff are friendly. The bedroom was adequate but noisy, being situated at the front of the hotel on a busy road where the traffic continues all night. The towels in the bathroom are definitely not fluffy but there is always plenty of hot water and the shower is good, although over the bath and possibly not suitable for everyone. The food is plentiful and there is a good choice but the dining room atmosphere is not condusive to lingering over a meal. The dining room is next to the swimming pool and the only access is exposed to the elements. If you are unlucky and have a rainy week, as we did, you either have to get wet or wear waterproofs! The entertainment is very 1960's and didn't appeal to us at all. A short walk from the hotel brings you to a promenade; turn left and you are immediately in amongst hoardes of people and tatty shops and restaurants, turn right and it is more peaceful. A 40 minute walk this way takes you to La Caletta, a fishing village with excellent restaurants. The old town of Adeje is a short bus ride away and worth a visit if only for the patisserie run by two delightful Spanish ladies. I would say there is not enough to do in this resort if the sun fails to shine.

Room Tip: Avoid the rooms facing the main road if possible.

We stayed here at the mid February and what a find. Lovely well situated hotel yet close to amenities. Excellent choices of food and a friendly willing staff. We decided we would like to return next year. One criticism, that awful watered-down orange juice, more like a cheap orange squash.
Oh! I did e-mail a request for a room overlooking the pool area but got one as far from it as was possible, it didn't spoil it for us though.

Room Tip: Just enjoy it

We stayed Half Board from Jan 26th for 1 week. Just could not find any fault with this hotel yet again. Food excellent, the rooms very comfortable and the staff very friendly. The location of this hotel is great, It's in a quiet location but there are plenty of bars etc. not too far away. It's 10 years since we stayed here, and I must say that the hotel has been very well looked after, it still looked new. We hope to return again some time.
