“Would stay again”

Stayed here for the first week of a Thompson's Colourful Coasts Hotel/Cruise package. All in all our stay was most enjoyable despite some niggles.

Perfectly clean in and around the public areas, the food is excellent for a buffet style operation, service in restaurant efficient and friendly - the staff are to be complimented for their hard work and attention to detail, reception is efficient and helpful. Room was clean and always restocked. Entertainment was exactly that - fun but not great. Lots of space - three pool areas

Once we worked out "how things worked" - including finding the La Cabana cafe/bar on the roundabout where a "pint" was 1 euro - we were very comfortable here.

Niggles:
Room allocation is hit or miss - quiet vs noisy. Sunny vs shady. View vs no view
Some balconies have solid guards which blocks any view when seated no matter where you end up facing.
Lots of steps - 80 odd between restaurant to reception.
People using iPads to Skype over Wi Fi in the otherwise quiet and peaceful bar area - I don't want to know/see your family affairs.
Poolside beds "booked" but not used for hours.

PS Left hotel for week on Thompson Majesty - wish we had stayed put!!!! Not a patch on this hotel.

Room Tip: Don't make the room the priority of your stay. Try to look at it as somewhere just to rest your...

We agree totally with everything mentioned in the last review by Tony C from Newton Abbot. Bahia Princess is a great hotel for a winter-sun break and Costa Adeje a very clean resort in a good location. We agree that the evening entertainment was of a generally high standard and particularly liked the Chinese Acrobats and the Magician and his 2 female assistants.

Tenerife is a wonderful island to explore and we went on 2 organised trips as well as hiring a car for one day from our Thomson Rep. This was very convenient as the pick-up was just across the road from the hotel.

When we next visit Tenerife, the Bahia Princess Hotel will be the first place we will try for.

Just spent a week at the Bahia what a excellent hotel the reception staff were very friendly on arrival this was contintued right through the week by all the staff . The food was first class and a great choice at breakfast and evening meals. Adeje is a good resort nice beaches and good walks. We had a room on the roadside but it was not a problem, the rooms had always been cleaned by the time we came back after spending the day out. There was a good range of entertainment in the Bar Princess from Tribute Singers and Bands to Parrot and Snake shows. Just up the road there is a Market on Thursday and Saturday good choice of stalls but busy. The weather was a welcome relief after all our rain & snow temp in mid twenties will being going back first class stay

Room Tip: Ask for room overlooking pool

We spent an enjoyable weeks stay here in January however we would not return to the hotel as the allocation of rooms could have a major impact on any future stay. I will start by saying that we were one of the lucky Thomson guests and got a lovely room on the 4th looking out to the sea, we got sunshine on the balcony all afternoon and evening. Many of the rooms however I would not find acceptable (and neither did some of our fellow guests who were not at all happy with what was allocated) for example

Some rooms are on a very busy road with constant traffic noise by day and very loud music from bars and pubs all night.

Some are on the lower level next to the pool and restaurant and because of the buildings have no daylight and certainly no privacy. You can look straight into someone's bedroom from the side tables in the restaurant

Some are overlooking another slightly quieter road but have many have trees and bushes in front, look down onto the drive to the underground car park or are behind the main hotel sign which also expels the air conditioning , making a constant noise.

On the very lovely 4th floor I met no other British guests, our neighbours were all German or Italian. In short there is more chance of getting a very noisy room or one with no natural daylight or little privacy than a good one so beware.

That said if you prefer the public areas to your own balcony then you will be more than happy. The public areas are spotless and there are more than adequate sun beds, parasols etc.

The staff in the restaurants and bars are really friendly and helpful. Try the hotels sangria, it is a really nice version

The choice and quality of food is excellent and you would have to very fussy not to find something nice to eat from the extensive choice. Another nice touch is the labels above the food telling you exactly what is in it, I have a specific food allergy and this was so helpful.

The atmosphere in the restaurant was a bit chaotic at times, don,t expect intimate dining but you will have a good meal.

We were eating out one evening and the hotel provided a picnique lunch as a replacement for dinner which was very nice. Just tell them you will be by 8pm the night before and they will give you the bags at breakfast.

We were not too keen on the evening entertainment but that is of course very subjective. The piano bar was a nice alternative if the show is not to your taste.

The bedrooms are well equipped, clean and comfortable, it's just a shame about the noise etc or else we would book here again for the food and service.

Before we stayed here I was worried about the noise that so many people complain about if they stay on the roadside, so when we arrived I was even more worried when I found out we were in a room next to the road (it was on the 4th floor though), we have two small children and found it no bother at all, once the doors were closed at night we heard next to no noise at all and it didn't disturb our children either. I would even request this room again.
This hotel is fabulous we would definitely stay again. The staff are wonderful and can't do enough for you (although there is a grumpy grey haired barman that needs to get some manners!!!) this hotel offers everything a relaxing holiday could offer its very peaceful, the food is excellent as is the choice if food, and the beach is just a short walk away.
The facilities in the hotel are good although it is true that there is only one plug in the room which is in the bathroom, the wifi is charged (€19 a week) and is only available around the bar and some pool areas, and the fridge and safe (safe €2 a day) are charged if you use them. Neither the wifi or the plug affected our holiday as I didn't intend to spend the week on the Internet anyway.
One big tip for anyone staying at this hotel is make sure you wear shoes walking round the pool as it can get very slippy.
The food as I said before was beyond our expectations there check was incredible as was the quality.
The room was incredibly clean and comfortable plenty of storage for clothes, the beds are a little hard but again this wasn't a issue, the bathroom a decent size and again very clean.
The whole hotel was incredibly clean and well maintained. The bar area was comfortable and peaceful. The was quite a few steps but there is a lift that you can use instead.
All in all this hotel is a must for a peaceful stay and a wonderful holiday the positives far out way any negatives, a beautiful hotel and staff.

Room Tip: Be careful around the pool without shoes it's slippy.

Just home from a 9 night break at this lovely hotel. We had previously stayed at the sister hotel although to be fair that was some 8 years ago and we weren't disappointed then so we were hoping for another good hotel with the Bahia Princess. It certainly didn't disappoint, the majority of staff on reception were great to deal with and a minor problem with our room not having been made up by 5.30 p.m. was rectified within the hour - this had occurred as our "please make up room" sign had blown from the door handle, every other day the room had been cleaned, beds made, towels replaced on some occasions before 11.00 a.m. All the bar and restaurant are extremely friendly, polite and helpful without being over-bearing and nothing was too much trouble for any of them with tables being cleared promptly ready for the next diner. For some people it may be a problem having to go out of the main hotel building to access the restaurant and would have been a pain had we had been unfortunate enough to get any bad weather - but for us personally it wasn't an issue. The daytime activities seemed to suit most, we didn't take part and there was no pressure from the animation team to get involved if you didn't feel inclined. Easy access to plenty of lively bars and good restaurants and great to access the main sea front where you can walk for about 6 miles up to Los Cristianos - definitely recommended!!! The evening entertainment left a bit to be desired - we went in a couple of times but left early and went into the local bars instead. Didn't use wifi in the hotel as some people were complaining about it, instead we went across to the Wigan Pier bar where there was free wifi, good beer and delicious ice cold Rekordling cider and some brilliant soul music too. All in all we would definitely recommend this hotel, it's quiet but you can find some good lively entertainment by not wandering too far. Had a brilliant room which although it was at the edge of the side road (not the main road) it could be a little noisy but that was a small price to pay for the room was overlooking the pool, with sea view and a beautiful sunset every evening - ours was the very last room to catch the absolute last of the days sun. Harrietts tea rooms didn't disappoint with a lovely cream tea and an enormous piece of lemon meringue - and we were also impressed with The Pantry which is just across the side road to the hotel, who also do scrummy desserts and nice sandwiches too. We got sandwiches from The Pantry for our trip home. Give this one a try we are sure you won't be disappointed. Happy holiday !!!!

Room Tip: Our room was enormous having a double sofa bed in too and the evening sunset from the balcony was wo...

We visited this hotel for a special birthday. We had a week here on half board in early January 2013. We have stayed in some wonderful hotels in the past and it is fair to say we can be rather picky. We requested a particular room in advance and we were delighted that our requests were met. The hotel was spotless, the staff very polite and helpful. Our room had a pool and sea view looking over to La Gomera. Our room was left very clean and tidy every day. The buffet food was varied on a daily basis, a wide choice of hot and cold meals. Yes... There are 51 steps down to the dining room, however, don't let this put you off, there is a more gentle route if you turn left out of the dining room, less steps. If you turn right out of the dining room, there is a lift and all is wheelchair friendly. The hotel is situated a short walk from the beach and shops, again, nothing too taxing. There is a bus stop a short walk across the road which gives you lots of options to visit other parts of the island. We did not find the fitness facilities, however we were advised that it was only open at certain times. We were advised by fellow travellers that the road/ mountain view of the hotel was noisy, therefore we would suggest that you request a southern facing room. We had a great week in the sun, a wonderful stay, and we would not hesitate to return to this hotel. We would recommend this hotel to all.

Room Tip: E mail the staff at the hotel and request a quiet room, overlooking the pool or a sea view. The roo...
