I have been here many times before, both with friends and as a family with two children aged now 14 and 10. We have been going here for at least 7 years.
This is a residential block, so is quite quiet, but if you want a relaxing break, this is definitely the place.
The apartments are of a very high standard, with English tv, some with satellite and wi-fi.
The communal areas are always spotless.
The pool is on the 6th floor, only because it's on the hill, but you can actually get out through one of the car parks, onto the top of the hill. The apartment block is huge, so design is very unusual. Actually, architecture is fascinating, how they have managed to build it out of a hillside.
A few places to eats at the bottom of the hill, and a slighter further walk towards the beach front, we are talking 10 min max from apartments, shops and restaurants. Lovely Rolex shop if you are feeling flush.
It is on a reasonably steep hill, but it is only a small hill, so don't let that put you off.
But if you like a good walk, you can walk along the beach front all the way to Los Christianos, about 45 min walk.
There are great restaurants nearby and a short taxi ride into La Caletta you will find lots of lovely restaurants with plenty of fish restaurants. All are on the sea front, with fantastic views, it's worth going just for the views. Try the Chinese, restaurant 88. it's delicious.
Las Americas is about 10 min drive and is a very lively hotspot for youngsters!
Las Americas has some decent shops and again some really good restaurants, try Bianco's which do great steaks.
It's a 15 min ride from the airport, so a car isn't necessary, unless you want to get out and about.
I have met older people who use the local bus service which is cheap and they travel up to Santa Cruz for a day out.
You can also get a bus from the airport to los Christianos and another one to del duque if you want to save money on taxis. Ok if you are not in a rush, it takes about an hr, but I wouldn't do it with kids personally.
Makro not far away if you are a uk member, go and stock up on some wine etc if you are going for a longer period of time.
With all year round sunshine, even December, although sometimes a slight breeze, what's not to like!
I am here again in the summer for a quieter week with the family to re-charge the batteries. Although kids will want us to go to the water park, Sian Park. Expensive, but great day out.
