Finally after a week seaeching for a deacent place for dining at Costa Adeje, we found this gem hidden in a passage 150mtrs from the dodgy Gordon Ramsay restaurant. Good, tasty and well presented food. Excellent service and a saxofon player accompanying a good meal.
Recommended for people slightly above average interested in food:)

We sought this place out based on all the good TA reviews. I must confess on arrival we were a bit surprised at the location despite many comments to that effect already here. It is in an odd location, sort of almost in a passageway. We were also a bit put out that despite booking there wasn't a table ready but the waiter soon sorted that out.

For starters 3 of us had meatballs and a few of them were a bit cool in the middle, not enough to put you off but again a bit less than perfect. The mains were generally very good but one our steaks was very rare and had to go back for a bit more cooking. You expect that in Spanish restaurants but almost everyone here was English so you'd generally think medium was not too bloody.

The food is obviously cooked fresh and you do expect that to take longer but our wait was bordering on too long at times for various items. The waiter explained a couple of times the very small kitchen and number of hot rings, but if you set the stall out to cook for this many people then you do need to cope.

There is a lot of very average food in Tenerife and Sebastian's is well above average compared with many so I would go back and give them another go, as based on many reviews here I think we were a bit unlucky to have a couple of ,albeit small, issues.

I would also thank our waiter for being unfailingly pleasant and helpful throughout our visit. The young lady who played guitar and sang was also very pleasant and entertaining

Dear Martin, thank you for your review. As you correctly say, all our food is prepared freshly, so it does take time to present it to our guests, and I would expect most of our guests to be with us for around a couple of hours. There are two trade offs for the wait. The first is that we provide each night, one of a variety of top quality entertainers singing and playing guitar, saxophone, trumpet or flute to entertain you while your food is being prepared. The second trade off is the fantastic taste of our freshly prepared and presented food, which many reviewers in Trip Advisor and elsewhere have testified to. As you mentioned our lovely girl singer, Elmar, I think you probably came on the Saturday between Christmas and New Year, which is one of the busiest days of the year, so if you had to wait a little longer than normal, please accept my apologies.

Regarding your steak being a little underdone, I think most restaurants have this issue with the rare / medium / well done situation. We get guests of many different nationalities in Sebastian, about 50% British, and if you ask someone from Britain to describe, say, a medium steak, they would describe it differently from a Belgian or Dutch or German person. I'm glad we resolved it for you, and should it have been over-done, we would have provided you with a replacement steak plus fresh potatoes and vegetables or salad.
Finally thanks for your kind remarks about our waiter. I'm not sure if you mean James, Gabriel or Shelley, but it's a critical part of our service that you are greeted with a smile, and are treated with courtesy throughout your visit, but without the fawning that most guests find irritating, and our waiters will be delighted you took the trouble to mention them. You're right, we're not perfect, but our Head Chef Raul Roldan Munoz and his colleagues will do everything to make your experience with us as enjoyable as possible. We look forward to seeing you when you return.

Kind Regards

Alan Nicolson Partner

We had the tapas menu but looking at some of the dishes on the a la carte menu we should of opted for that! It is a bit pricey for tapas 7-8 euros per dish but food was plentiful & delicious. They have a kids menu & do pizza as well. Service was warm & friendly & the restaurant had a good atmosphere as it was busy. I had a slice of my sons pizza & it was fab! The saxophone player was pretty good too.

We didn't discover Sebastian until June 2012 but it is now on our list of "must visit" restaurants when we are in Tenerife. On our most recent holiday we ate there on two consecutive Mondays. The first time we chose from the a la carte menu, as we usually do, and the food was superb combined with excellent presentation. We noticed that there was a Monday offer where you received a free bottle of wine if two people chose a three course option so we decided to try that the next week. We weren't disappointed! There was no difference in the quality of the food, it was just a very good deal. Another reason we like to eat at Sebastian is that the staff are very friendly and efficient and the entertainers are first class. It is also nice to see the owner,Alan, take a genuine interest in his customers. A couple sitting on the next table to us seemed to have the same opinion about the restaurant. We'll definitely be back!
