Villa was just what we were looking for as a family of 5 adults and 1 child (3 years old). Rooms were spacious and well decorated. Pool area was amazing, we paid extra to have the pool heated and it was perfect temperature. Location is in a residential area so quite quiet and we didn't feel overlooked at all. We hired taxis to travel into the main area of Costa Adeje - where the restaurants and bars are - when we wanted to get out and about. (Worth noting that the local drivers didn't seem to know where anything was and we had a few issues with this!) But we mostly made the most of the barbecue and lovely outside seating areas in the evenings. Lidl and other shops are a 10/15 min walk away. Jenny seemed very nice and we only needed to contact her a couple of times. Would definitely stay here again if we came back to this area of Tenerife,
Just returned from lovely 12night break at villa zen. The villa is very spacious over 4 levels with lovely gardens and seating areas. It is located in a residential area in los Olivos. Los Olivos itself does not have much in it but we did try the local Italian,Chinese and pizza shop all very reasonable prices. There are some local smaller Spanish bars restaurants. Large mercadona supermarket less than 10mins walk was very good and McDonald's next door to that for the kids. We knew we would need to get taxis and managed to get 7 seater each time 10euros to the centre of Costa adeje. The villa has a large bbq which we used also. Villa was ideal for our group as we wanted to relax.
Got back from here just over a week ago. Amazing villa with a brilliant garden and pool would definitely recommend! Lovely pizza/Italian restaurant on the same road called ‘Selfie Pizza’ you can also take away. Villa located in a more residential area however easy enough to get taxis and only takes about 10 minutes to get to the main beach with all the restaurants and bars so we did this most nights. Jenny is very helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
We were two grandparents, two parents and two children aged 21 and 15. The two good double bedrooms and the very large upper bedroom for the boys suited us just fine. We had double beds and the boys a double bed and a double fuiton. Everything in the kitchen worked, and we ate all our meals at the table in the roofed patio overlooking the pool. There were three other seating areas, all very comfortable and quite originally designed with Thai motives, in addition to the.terracing around the pool. We spent super evenings under the 'pavilion'.. The pool had underwater lighting and was tolerably well heated: the boys took late evening swims. The pool table in the downstairs games room saw good use.. The outside areas were all within a tastefully decorated wall and the flower beds and planting were well tended. The general impression was that of a luxurious compound shut away from the fairly uninspiring surroundings. However one could see the sea in the distance and enjoy some glorious sunsets.
Jenny and Hugo looked after us very well: we complained about the lack of drying up cloths etc and Hugo brought round a good supply next day. One of the showers was not working very well and Hugo did his best to mend it. Jenny replied very promptly and very friendly to all our emails.
What a fantastic villa ..we will be back that's for sure . There were only 3 person in our party .so much space in this accommodation. Lovely pool .next time I'll be renting a car ..only 10 mins drive to Las Americas if traffic is ok hirted taxis most days but to costly approx 10 - 12 euro each way.
Despite our taxi driver ignoring directions as he knew best and then gettting lost !
Villa Zen is located in a rather out of the way location in Adeje Town. That is meant as a compliment as Adeje has more character than the more touristy areas. A 4km walk downhill to lovely La Caleta or use the Titsa local bus service even if the timetable is not entirely accurate !
The Villa itself is of a reasonable standard over 4 floors and represented good value for money. Nice touch to have Netflix as there were a couple of cloudy days. Only criticism would be the games room. Not a reason I would have booked the Villa but nothing was working as far as I could tell. No ball for the fusbal table. The pool table sloped so all the balls ran down to end of the table rendering a game meaningless. Just as well as my wife would probably have beaten me in any case.
I am reluctant to review this wonderful property as I dont want everybody rushing to stay!! Its an absolute gem and a credit to Jenny the owner. Sometimes when you book online you don't believe that the accommodation will be as it appears but this property is even better than the pictures. Inside and outside did not disappoint, it is very well equipped inside but what makes this villa so lovely to stay at are the different outside spaces and of course the heated pool.
The location is ideal, its in a quiet residential area of Adeje only 100yds to a small cluster of bars and cafes, less than 10 minutes walk to Mercadona and Tu Trebol supermarkets and about 15 minutes walk to the centre of the old town. For those looking for more action its only 10 minutes by taxi (8 euros) to Costa Adeje. The bus stop is at the top of the street but as there were five of us it was better value to use taxis. We ate all our meals out which I will review separately although if you self catered the villa was fully equipped and also has a barbeque.
We ate in immediate vacinity at Selfie Pizza very good and they do takeaway, lunch almost every day at Bar Tabaiba which had amazing toasties and sandwiches and was so cheap, sandwiches and drinks for 5 people 20 euros!!! In Adeje old town we ate at Oasis and Damary. In Caleta at El Caldero and Costa Adeje Sebastian, Limoncello, Secrets Tapas also two afternoons on the beach at Coqueleche for lunch and the live music.
