“overpriced and average”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 24, 2012

Our most expensive meal of the week, and certainly not the best. We had courses from the A la carte menu, not the tasting menu. 105 euros for 2 with 1 bottle of avarage wine. Maybe we got it on a bad day. The staff were very pleasant and the setting was delightful. It was just ordinary.

“Best Restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 14, 2012

Stayed at La Plantacion last year and decided to return to the a la carte restaurant this year. Same great service and food was fantastic. Head waiter is great and could fully describe all the dishes and also provide some great recommendations for wine. A must for all foodies and also provides a beautiful setting - will certainly return

“Glorious views, high quality cooking”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 18, 2012

We enjoyed a 3 course a la carte meal here. Complimentary cava and a pre-starter were nice touches, as was the sweet wine with our foie grad starter. Service was friendly and attentive, though not overly so. The views from the corner table out over the wide sweep of Costa Adeje were marvellous. Our main courses of a sirloin steak and a slow cooked veal timbale were good but a little short of perfect. A dessert of strawberry and raspberry soup with a yogurt sorbet was a lovely palate cleanser. Atmosphere was a bit muted as we were the only customers on a Saturday night, which was surprising. Overall the quality of this restaurant is high, the service excellent, and the prices fair. Worth going on e per holiday. Meal for two was 130 euros which included a nice Rioja riserva at 35 euros.

“Interesting food, lovely setting”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 17, 2012

The restaurant is part of La Plantaccion del Sur hotel and has a lovely setting overlooking the bay, the town and with views to La Gomera. As dusk falls, it's a really romantic setting, helped by the complimentary glass of cava! There is a "Tasting menu" for 55 euros, but we settled for 3 courses from the a la carte. If you stay in the hotel on half board there is a 30 euro credit per person towards the cost of a meal here. The menu highlights Canarian food and includes Spanish delicacies - go for the Iberian pork, the gazpacho with prawn and the Canarian dessert that is like crteme brulee. Service is attentive but leisurely ( after all this is Spain) and top marks to the staff who really looked after the lady on her own dining at the next table. Good selection of wines (OK a bit pricey, but a glass of more than acceptable house wine was 3 euros). Beautiful food, beautifully presented in a lovely setting. Cost works out at about £50 a head including drinks and tip. Spoil yourself.
