This is an amazing resort hotel. We spent a fantastic 10 days enjoying the luxury. All the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. If you go half board as we did, the breakfast is excellent but the dinner buffet can gat a bit tiresome. The a la carte restaurants are good and local alternatives make a pleasant change. Smoking in restaurants still bugs me and Continental Europeans just don't seem to understand how times have moved on.

All rooms have a sea view but go for one with the larger balcony where its nice to have the occasional sundowner.

There's no air conditioning!! Despite what he brochure tells you, it's a fan and the thermostat does nothing. Whether that changes in summer I don't know but January was unusually warm and the rooms get hot - we had to sleep with patio doors and curtains wide open.

Room Tip: Always the best you can afford but the big balconies are a definite plus

My husband and I enjoyed five days of total bliss in this peaceful hotel with it's comfy sunbeds, attentive staff, lush gardens and sublime views, it is one place we have recommended to friends on several occasions. We stayed over Valentines day, and were spoilt with special treats like scented heart shaped bath bombs and soaps, and a red rose in a champagne bucket filled with ice and a chilled white wine. Our junior suite provided a well appointed walk in wardrobe which was very handy and I would like to have one like it in my own home. The suite was well decorated and very comfortable. We were able to enjoy the sun setting from our balcony with our chilled wine which was very relaxing and we felt pampered. The flower arrangements and decorations within the main lobby were breathtaking. One of my favourite things at the hotel was a stunning huge free form pool, which was beautifully kept with crystal clear, sparkling blue water. There are some interesting boutiques next to the hotel, and seafront pathways which extend for miles. I would highly recommend this lovely hotel, which won't disappoint. We will definitely be back in the future. Grateful thanks to management and staff.

Room Tip: I don't think there are any bad rooms so you are fairy safe wherever you are allocated, but the...

We had a most relaxing week's stay at the El Mirador in January 2013. We have stayed in various other hotels in Costa Adeje but this is the best by far. It is set in a fantastic location overlooking the sea and has many excellent quality restaurants close by. The staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are tastefully decorated and the range of food at breakfast is incredible. We will definitely be returning!

Room Tip: Go for a room with a sea view!

My wife and I stayed at the El Mirador last September for what was to be a once in a lifetime experience to celebrate both our 60th birthdays. The hotel and the staff in the hotel more than exceeded our expectations. If there is a more relaxing hotel to have a holiday in I ask anyone to find it,the most noise you hear when lying at the pool are the waves lapping on the beach. This was intended to be a once in a lifetime holiday, but as it was so good we have already booked up for this year .The one thing i would say is to go for a sea view as we have done this year as the view from that side of the hotel is stunning.

Room Tip: ask for a room with a sea view as the view is stunning

We stayed at this hotel from the 26th Dec – 5th January. We had originally booked to stay in the Balconada area. However, the previous occupant of the room that we had been allocated must have been a prolific chain smoker – as it smelled absolutely terrible! The hotel manager was absolutely brilliant and upgraded us to the Royal Suite, the best suite in the hotel! Wow, it was absolutely fantastic, with its own living room with windows overlooking the Del Duque Beach, Jacuzzi, outside terrace, bedroom, two bathrooms and walk in wardrobes. It was luxury personified.

We were allowed to stay in the Royal Suite for the whole 10 ten days we were staying there. We were also allowed access to the exclusive Balconada area. This is a very exclusive part of the hotel with its own pool; snacks and a fridge were you could get drinks and fruit throughout the day. If you like peace and quiet, this is definitely the place to stay!

We also stayed half board and, because we booked the hotel through Sovereign (who I highly recommend), we were able to use all the restaurants in the hotel. This was an added bonus, as some companies only allow guests to use the Al a Carte restaurants, once or twice during their stay, whereas we could use them as much as we wanted. We also had complimentary access to the Spa.

We were staying on the half board basis and were not disappointed. Breakfast offered a wide choice. There was everything from a cooked breakfast to a fruit smoothie bar. For evening meals, there was a choice of three courses every night besides access to a buffet. If there was anything special you wanted, you only had to ask the Chef and he would prepare it for you.

The food at this hotel is much nicer than the other restaurants in Tenerife (I can say this from experience as we have been many times to the Island but have never found anywhere as nice as the El Mirador). It is therefore definitely worth paying for half board.

The New Year’s Eve Gala meal was awesome. I was a bit skeptical as to whether I would like some of the courses, but the canapés, evening meal and branded drinks, including champagne, was fantastic. Watching the fireworks from the privacy of the Royal Suite was an added bonus.

The customer service in this hotel is second to none. We found all the staff very professional and can’t thank them all enough for making our stay one that we will definitely remember. I would love to go back (and stay in the Royal Suite).

Room Tip: The Royal Suite is fantastic. If this isn't available, I recommend the Balconada area for peace...

This is a first class hotel in a fantastic location. The rooms are relaxing and luxuriously decorated in creams ands beiges. The seaview rooms are worth the extra to watch the sun set over the Atlantic, quiet beautiful.
The staff are very friendly and efficient, a special thank you to Franco who went that little bit further and provided excellent information on the hotels and surrounding faciliaties.
My only detrimental comment would be the use of mobile phones in the al a carte restuarant at dinner. We experienced a particularly offensive speakerphone conversation which lasted well over 10 mins which routined our romantic supper and those diners around us. Perhaps a polite notice at the entrance of the restuarant would save the manager having to confront the guest.

We stayed in july 2012 and are only writing this review following reading terribly innacurate reviews from a few disgruntled guests whom , im assuming are either serial complainers or people who would be unhappy if they won the lottery..

This hotel is far from dated in decor.. in fact its beautiful..the staff were all amazing from the maids to the hard working and very visible managment.

the pool was not dirty despite the claims ive read.. merely it had a little sand on the bottom due to la calima (google it)

the food was varied to all european tastes and the rooms were spacious, clean and beautifully ornate.

i run a hotel myself in the uk and am pleased to see the negative comments are only around 2% for el mirador.. its simply stunning and i really hope i can return there one day..

Room Tip: if youve got the money go for a suite which enables access to the upstairs pool..stunning and with h...
