Been to this hotel a few times now and on each occasion had a wonderful experience. Must say the food is always top notch! Only downside is the small under-equipped gym. Have recommended this to friends who now go there 3-4 times a year.

Having just returned from a 5 day break (end Sept) to this hotel I am already looking forward to returning next year.
Upon arrival we were impressed with the underground reception area and the booking in experience was effortless, as was the departure.
We had a deluxe suite (1319) on the 3rd floor in the centre of the hotel, overlooking the main pool area. The room was fabulous had good size bathroom with separate shower and toilet rooms. Corridor with a dressing room off it. Main area was a large, wide room with lounge area to the left and bedroom to the right. Each area had double patio doors leading off to a long enclosed patio area with table and chairs, plus a settee and additional coffee table. House keeping was excellent with a turndown service every night and towels changed twice a day. Good quality toiletries which were replenished when used. The A/C did not cool the room down enough, this was due to the fact that only one air vent in the lounge area.
Dining was a civilised experience. Breakfast was a good choice of hot and cold dishes. We ate in the main restaurant for 2 evenings, the starter and sweets are self service, for the main course you have a choice of 5 dishes which is waiter served to your table in 'doomed' plates. All food is of a good quality. Wine list good and not too expensive. The only problem in dining area is that English is poor with some of the members of staff.
Pool area: Excellent pool boy. You just stood where you wished to sit and he brought loungers, table and sun shade. Loungers very comfortable and towels freely available at poolside.
Spa: better to spend time and use the facilities as well as having a treatment. Book direct with spa and not reception
Overall: An adult environment and throughly relaxing time. Next time would upgrade to the LA BALCONADA which is a VIP level (2nd floor) This has a separate pool area and canopy sun beds. There is an additional cost for these rooms.
Point to note: Outside the hotel (roadside) turn left and walk 10 minutes to roundabout, 'El Torito' restaurant well worth a visit.

Room Tip: Ensure full sea view

If you are looking for a relaxed luxury break, then this is the hotel for you. It is clean, comfortable and very well appointed. The junior suites with sea view do have a stunning view usually enhanced by a picturesque sunset. The staff are friendly and efficient. We ate twice in their La Pergola restaurant and both times the chef produce a great meal at reasonable prices. Also room service, for braekfast, lunch or dinner, is very good especially when the meal is served outside on your own balcony!

Room Tip: Junior suite with sea view

Myself and my friend stayed at the Mirador in sept 2012, the hotel was beautiful but the reception staff needed training in customer service (women only) as when we arrived we were given the wrong room, the porter phoned to advise the reception staff , as he was getting no where with them I took the phone from him and spoke to a rather rude member of staff who told me nothing could be done until the morning and the hotel was fully booked and put the phone down on me!!!!how rude is that. The next day we went back to reception and were advised they COULD have a room for us but would not tell us anything about it until 12pm that day, eventually we were given a key and i said that if the room was not up to standard i would not be taking it, the room we were going to be given was much smaller and a floor higher and not so well laid out. After consideration we opted to keep this room and they fixed out the bed situation, but each time we went to reception to ask for anything and the woman staff were on they were either really rude of could not speak a word on English, when the men were on reception they were so helpfull as were all the other staff in the hotel, i think a training course for the ladies on reception is needed to help them deal with members of the public. Apart from that we had a wonderful trip and would like to go back again. One other thing was that if you had a room on the 2nd floor you had access to the tented beds and pool straight from your room, when i booked this holiday having the tented beds was one of the reason we liked the look of this hotel but these were only accessable if you had a room on the 2nd floor, no where on the El miradore website did it state this????

Room Tip: All room are sea/pool facing but if you get the 2nd floor rooms you get a terrace with access to ano...

My husband and I have just returned from a 7 day stay at this hotel. The hotel itself is lovely . The grounds beautiful with plenty of sunbeds to be had by all. Angelo the pool man couldn't do enough to ensure your day around the pool was comfortable. He worked so very hard .Christina ( bar staff) was truly lovely, always there with a smile. A big thank you to all staff but especially these two.

Downside was the fact that we asked for our bill a day before we checked out. This was so that we could check it and ensure that all was correct as there had been some confusion on their room tariffs and descriptions when checking in.We were assured three times that this was our final bill which covered our final night. We checked out at 10.30 next day and waited in reception area for our taxi which arrived at 12.10. Upon arriving home that evening we found an email from the hotel reception ( badly spelt) saying that as we had paid the day before they had made an error and had not charged us for the accommodation for our last night and had taken payment for this. This e- mail had been sent at 12.19 being 9 minutes after we left.Staff therefore had plenty of time to rectify their error and inform us before we left. Not a very professional management team!

If upmarket luxury is what you are looking for then this is the place. With only 120 rooms, this fantastic hotel is visually stunning, yet idyllic at the same time. Excellent well kept grounds and beautiful pool areas. No crowds in the restaurant and no business round the pool during the day, just pure relaxation and surrounded by luxury.

Hotel has direct access to the playa del duque, which is the nices beach the whole way along that coastline. Lovely brown/white sand and great clear waters for swimming. 10minute walk to the busier playa fanabe area which has a bit more life to it.

Staff couldnt do enough for you, they were always armed with a big genuine smile and we were always adressed as madam and senor...very polite and very efficient. The waiter staff in the restaurants especially were excellent.

Would reccommend to age group between 50 and 60 and discerning travellers who like high standards.

We stayed for 11 nights in September and after being unable to book into our usual hotel, the Sheraton, our independent travel agent, Myriad Travel, researched and recommended El Mirador.
This has to be one of the cleanest and most attractive hotels we have ever stayed in and it is most definitely worthy of its 5* rating!
Our room, a junior suite on the fourth floor, overlooked the El Duq beach and what a View it was! The room was just perfect for us and although the air conditioning was not working effectively for the first couple of days, it was repaired immediately.
The food was superb- we stayed half board and again, could not fault it. Breakfasts were lovely and there was a wide choice of different foods, and the evening meal was always very special.
There was no problem getting sun beds or parasols each day. Angelo, the poolside attendant, was fantastic. He was so hardworking and caring and he always looked after the guests perfectly. Thank you Angelo.
The staff were most professional, courteous and friendly at all times. Our thanks must go to ALL of them.
We shall definitely return to this Adult only 5* hotel.
