“Doesn't get better than this....”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 9, 2013 via mobile

We don't often do B&B's, but Nick and Helen are the best hosts you could wish for- not at all intrusive but incredibly attentive at the same time- a hard trick to pull off even in 5* Hotels. Nothing is too much trouble for them- but you don't often get great service supported by a great sense of fun and (subtle?) humour too. (Well Nick thinks so and he's right most of the time).
Hampton House is a really lovely place- has great history and is in a lovely quiet location with archetypal Cheshire Dairy farm views. We really enjoyed seeing the photographs charting the refurbishment from long ago- obviously a real labour of love. It is a real home from home and the place is spotless. This isn't a soulless TV in your room place- the residents lounge is somewhere you want to chill out in and the breakfast table is a proper big farmhouse one where Nick's silver(ish) service is not to be missed.

We had the added bonus of chatting to a lodging African Grey Parrot who was being looked after whilst the owners were on holiday, just another character to add to the experience. Read all the reviews, they are right- I couldn't recommend this place highly enough.

We have just spent a lovely weekend with our son and his fiancee at Hampton House Farm and cannot recommend it highly enough. It is a beautiful place which is a credit to its owners Nick and Helen. They are a truly accommodating and friendly couple who welcomed us all into their home; upon arrival Helen provided us with a most welcome tray of tea and delicious homemade fruit loaf as we settled into the guest lounge in front of a roaring log fire. Our extremely comfortable rooms had lovely views of the surrounding countryside and large en-suite bathrooms which were immaculate and spotlessly clean. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts, they were a font of knowledge of the area and provided us with an array of menus from local restaurants so we could select somewhere to have dinner. Once we had chosen where to go Helen made all the arrangements on our behalf - her recommendations were not wrong, we enjoyed a lovely meal in very pleasant surroundings just a short drive away. Breakfast the following morning cooked by Helen was excellent, whilst Nick joined us and shared humorous stories of their lives as farmers and now B&B owners. We were sad to leave Hampton House as we had arrived as guests and left there feeling like old friends of Nick and Helen. Thank you both for a truly wonderful stay, we look forward to seeing you again soon.

You couldn't meet a nicer couple than Nick and Helen. Very accommodating, friendly hosts. There was tea and homemade fruit loaf upon arrival (delicious too!) and the whole place was clean and tidy. We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we got there to the moment we departed. Lovely view of the surrounding countryside. If people are wanting to travel anywhere that's not within walking distance we would recommend booking taxis well in advance, as it is in a fairly remote location. There's loads of places to eat nearby. We would definitely go back there again, infact we are planning on it this summer! Highly recommended, you will not find a better B&B anywhere.

I have stayed in many Bed and breakfasts over the years and this is the first time I have been inspired to write a comment. Hampton House Farm is a truly wonderful place; the rooms are pristine, and incredibly comfortable; I was sad to leave the extremely comfortable bed behind! The breakfast was expertly cooked by our extremely friendly hosts. It is true to say you are treated like old friends by Nick and Helen who have absolutely mastered how to run an excellent Bed and Breakfast. I cannot recommend this place highly enough!

We stayed at this B&B prior to taking part in the nearby Cholmondley triathlon. Nick and Helen, the owners, could not have been more welcoming, from the tea and home made cake upon arrival to the (very) early morning porridge on the day of the race. They even invited us back to their B&B after we had departed for a shower after the race - amazing service from two really nice people. The whole experience was like going home to your mum and dad's!! It was absolutely brilliant and I would recommend this charming B&B to anyone.

I fully endorse the 5-star rating given by previous reviewers. Nick and Helen treated us as 'old friends' from the minute we first met. Our bedroom was full of character and both it and the en suite bathroom were spotless. The bed was large and extremely comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. The views from our room - and from the guest lounge - were of open fields and grazing cows. In the distance Nick pointed out the Welsh border and the Wrekin hill, a well-known Shropshire landmark over 25 miles away. The whole setting was peaceful and idyllic on the sunny day we were there. Our hosts provided a list of local restaurants and pubs and discussed the choices with us before booking a table on our behalf. Breakfast the following morning comprised a choice of cereals and fresh fruit - including a bowl of mixed fresh strawberries and blueberries - followed by a generous plate of bacon, sausage, tomatoes, mushrooms and fried bread. The meal was completed with toast and a selection of home made jams/marmalade and locally-produced honey. All in all, a perfect stay and one which we would wholeheartedly recommend to others.
