The hotel is located in the town, which preserves the patriarchal structure of Thai life. For voting for the 3rd and 10th places in the ranking of the best warm-weather places there is nothing to do. There is no massage parlors, McDonald's and go-go bars. There are no bars at all. There is no draft beer.
The hotel is aimed at foreigners, but the internal structure remains for Thais. Thais are very specific approach to the rest of the sea, often coming there a dozen others, and placed in one room.
On the beach there are no sunbeds. Nor is there any umbrellas. Towels in room one, and for face, body, and the beach.
I personally do not like breakfast. The choice is not very rich: scrambled eggs or an omelet. Depends on the local prices in Thailand, the choice should be more.
Staff friendly as usual, and also not hurrying to work. A typical situation for this country. Closely related to issues and requests. Fortunately, in this hotel, there are people who understand in English. If you do not speak Thai at a minimum level not go to Chao Lao beach at all! If you do not eat Thai food, then just die there of hunger. In terms of real Thai food, which differs greatly from the hotel. For Europeans, the issue of food in this place is especially important, because hygiene issues are understood in particular. At this point, there is a familiar inhabitant of Europe furiously expensive synthetic meal with the emblem of "a natural product grown in Chernobyl."
Unfortunately the people of Thailand are very consumeristic attitude to their country. On the Chao Lao comes a lot of local residents, which remain after the mountains of rubbish. Thais do not yet understand the importance of maintaining their country clean. Cigarette butts, bottles, bags, condoms, sanitary pads - all in small numbers scattered everywhere. The area has historically hunted sea and smells like specifically. In many places, hear the smell is "unnecessary" seafood.
There are a lot of stray dogs. This led to the dominance of the coastal zone of insects, which leave the body Farang savory, itchy blisters for weeks. Maybe it's sand fleas, also can be a nasty subspecies of mosquitoes. Protect yourself from the sun cream and insect repellent, otherwise you will be memorable vacation troubles and itching with consequent wound with pus.
Summary. Strongly not recommended to tourists. For speaking in Thai farang-expats recommend the opposite.
