“Beautiful hotel with great services”
Reviewed January 7, 2012

We stayed in Maneechan Resort while visiting a friend in Chanthaburi. The hotel staff were very friendly and the ones at the front desk spoke good English. The grounds are beautiful, and the restaurant and beer garden have a nice menu selection and pleasant atmosphere. The hotel also provided many free services including use of their sauna, wifi in our room, and a free shuttle that would drop us off and pick us up anywhere in town, 24 hours. A great stay - would recommend to anyone traveling to Chanthaburi!

We spent two nights at Maneechan Resort just outside the centre of Chanthaburi town. The location is fine as long as you have a car and the resort could generally use a renovation, but we were told this is being planned. We stayed in one of the 4 recently renovated rooms - 3,800 Baht per night - which was very comfortable, large, clean and excellent value. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful and the facilities - pool and gym - very good. Breakfast was acceptable, but we were surprised at the excellent coffee at the resort and the delicious Chinese food in the coffee shop. Overall, we greatly enjoyed our stay and I would recommend this resort as very good value.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the 4 renovated rooms.

My second stay at Maneechan and I can't wait for the next. Considering the limited options for quality accomodation in Chanthaburi the Maneechan Resort really is a blessing....especially as Chanthaburi is my wife's home town so I've no choice but to visit periodically!

We spent 6 weeks in the Maneechan Resort at the start of our annual Thai tour and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The monthly rate is a bargain, the rooms spacious and exceptionally clean and the staff are fantastic without exception. The facilities are excellent with one of the best restaurants in town on-site, an excellent pool, good gym, sauna, jacuzzi etc. Also, a rarity in rural Thailand, the hotel wifi signal is strong and the connection relatively quick.

The only slight drawback during our stay was having to move rooms due to a major refurbishment project that started 2 weeks before we left (Chanthaburi's best is getting even better by the looks of things! The work is scheduled to complete by mid November). Unfortunately this meant we had to move to a room at the rear of the resort and swapped our garden view for a view of the dual carriageway that borders the back of the resort. This road is very busy being the main conduit between BKK and Trat so the road noise from HGVs rumbling past through the night did become a bit of a problem.

Room Tip: Request a room nearer reception as the furthest rooms are a little close to the dual carriageway and...

We stayed here one night en-route to Koh Chang. I would highly recommend staying here especially if you travel with children. The gym was great with lots of selection, the pool was huge. Food was very good. Rooms are huge (a little outdated but clean and comfortable). Massages were cheap for a hotel. I would go back again. Oh, and free internet!

I stayed at this place only one night for a business trip. The location is a bit far from town. The room is average for the hotel upcountry. The free wi-fi is a nice service. The garden and swimming pool are very nice and in good condition. The breakfast is the best. Overall, it is an average hotel with reasonable price.

The Maneechan was a splendid surprise. Everything about this place is excellent. Rooms are large and cozy; swimming pool and fitness area are very nice; service is outstanding & the the daily breakfast buffet is perfect. There are many types of food, everything is prepared well and presented beautifully. And, the price for the hotel is excellent. We paid three or four times as much in Koh Chang and were totally disappointed or, maybe we just got spoiled by the Manechan. The food in the restaurant is also excellent. In fact, the food in Chathaburi is overall better than food in other parts of Thailand. And, that is saying a lot!

There is a free shuttle service to town and back. That's the only issue, one is not that close to town but the shuttle service works well.
