We stayed at Faasai in July and found it really lived up to our expectations. Well kept grounds, super friendly staff, wonderful local food and a real commitment on the part of the owners to live sustainably.
Bronwyn, thanks for the time you took to show us around, and for your efforts to enhance your environment. Really inspired us.
We spent time in the pool, enjoyed a massage and generally relaxed and were recharged by the serene surroundings.
Would love to return one day, and have already told lots of our friends who are heading to Thailand to include a trip to Faasai in their itinerary.

Room Tip: We loved our room because it was right opposite the pool.

Fellow Travelers,

I have been to Faasai for my first major road trip in chanthaburi thailand in Mar 2013. undoubtedly , I have done my groundwork for the trip so I was very convinced the place will be comfortable etc.the upside was use of human touch technology and over here it might be a surprising term but i must use for the people managing Faasai. all of them within limited resources tries and for me tried their best to make stay heart touching. the visit to their garden and candid talks about their venture was not only interesting but inspiring to have same vision towards nature.

Many many thanks for the outstanding stay Faasai.

Thanks
BT

I had a wonderful one-night stay at Faasai resort recently. I was very pleased with the bungalow which came equipped with a fridge, A/C, a phone, a TV and DVD player, not to mention small bottles of locally made shampoo and soap. It was extremely clean and nicely decorated. I didn't feel I needed to wear flipflops in the shower :-) and there is even a mirror on the wall near the electrical outlet for those who need electrical appliances to look presentable :-) The grounds are very beautiful, the staff very helpful, and the food is delicious and very reasonably priced. There are so many interesting details around the grounds, and plenty of flowers attracting several different kinds of butterflies. I was treated to freshly picked organic mangosteens and rambutans as part of my western style breakfast. Lovely! I will definitely go back!

located about 250 meters from the beach, behind a small hill, the resort is calm and pleasant. Great place to go with children as the beach (pretty clean although not perfect - I did see people picking up trash which helps) is nice and so is the water.
The garden at the resort is big and children can run around.
Now, why did we like Faasai? The food is very good and the staff is very helpful. For example, breakfast does not start until 8:30 (officially) but we were up between 7 and 7:30 and the staff were very helpul getting us coffee and other breakfast items. If that had not happened, I would have given a rating of 2 as it is difficult to wait with a small child who is hungry until 8:30 when we are used to a 6:30 breakfast. The staff lent us the moped with side car to go to the beach, which was very much appreciated, in the hot sun.
The rooms are clean and functional. The mosquito screen door is a bit flimsy, wonder how long they last. But overall a good sleep. AC does tend to stop and go due to power failures in the area (not much the hotel can do about it). Overall a very nice place to which we would go back to.

This resort was the reason for us to visit the southeast of Thailand, and we have no regrets. The place is beautiful, the people are lovely and helpful and the area is really interesting and sees hardly any western tourists.

The gardens are so relaxing, with lots of play area for children, a nice swimming pool, a beautiful Bodhi tree, a lookout terrace. The restaurant serves very good Thai food and some western dishes as well, although we hardly needed that option even with our young kids. This is a fruit area, and they serve nice smoothies too. An excursion to the organic farm where the fruit and herbs are grown is free to all visitors. Other excursions are well taken care of- there is a lot to do and see for adults and children.

The wonderful beach of Kung Wiman is almost empty - just a few Thai families sometimes, and people gathering seafood, and there are good cheap restaurants to eat at sunset. That is, if you really think the food can get any better than at Faasai, which is hard to beat.

Room Tip: For a family with two small children, half a villa was good enough for us. We saw other families ren...

We arrived at FaaSai in the beginning of December 2012 after stressful months of working back in Germany. We had planned to stay only a couple of nights but soon extended our stay for a longer time. From day to day we felt more relaxed and at home: Already our welcome at FaaSai was very warm and attentive. Our house was spotless clean and nicely furnitured, there was a smell of fresh herbs and we were delighted about the nicely modelled towels. It ist possible to prepare own coffee and tea in the morning with a water heater. The pool is very clean and big enough to swim and not only to splash around. There was always a pot of fresh homegrown lemongrass-tea at the pool and the drinking water from an own well is for free. There is a possibility to play table-tennis and the Thai-massages are of a very high quality.
The whole place is designed and kept in a loving and esthetical appealing way.
But the most special point of FaaSai is the diversity of fauna and flora: Resting and relaxing in the deckchair at the pool and just looking around you always notice a tree or a plant you haven`t discovered yet. You can watch a big variety of butterflies and admire flowers you have never seen before in Thailand. The birds of the whole neighboorhood seem to gather here - the same as the cats who all have decided by themselves to choose this peaceful place for their home.
We have always experienced Bronwen Evans, the owner of the place and her staff as very open and friendly and always willing to fulfill our smaller and bigger wishes to make our stay at FaaSai as comfortable and pleasant as possible.
In this surrounding we relaxed and discovered very quickly and we can highly recommend a visit an FaaSai to other travellers.
We are already looking forward to coming back again.

If we'd taken the travel book information on Chanthaburi at face value we would never have ventured to this restful haven 3 hours drive from Bangkok, and we would have missed the colourful chaos of the weekend gem market in Chanthaburi itself. We stayed in one of the comfortable villas, with its spacious verandah a perfect place to be at sunrise and sunset; although the best place to enjoy the latter was the near-empty beach on the Gulf of Thailand (a 10 minute walk from the Resort). Evening meals were a treat and, for two of them, planned in advance to take advantage of the fresh fish or seafood. The staff were warm in their welcome and helpful with their advice. They made every effort to make you feel at home. On our next visit, we'll use FaaSai as base for further exploration of an area committed to eco-tourism. We took a taxi both ways. We'll probably hire a car when we visit again. Thanks Bronwen and your great team from two grateful Kiwis.
